I'm d only guy who since the very first day i drove till date not been hit or even hit anyone. its 7 yrs now......tuale for me

I had two accidents. In the 1st i was hit by a really drunk driver while i was also drunk.
Night was setting in as i was rushing to pick up something for my sister's wedding. I was overtaking a vehicle at speed of about 80km/h when a parked vehicle by the side walk suddenly entered the road without caution. It would have been a head on collision, i swerved but we kissed fenders. He didnt stop.

Something funny happened after i stopped. I was pressed, so i had to take a leak, so were all my friends. We leaked all the palm wine we took before inspecting the damage and asking other motorist to give the guy a chase which they refused. Coincidentally, me and the runaway drunk driver met at the panel beater's shop the next morning. He had, after hitting me, hit a Colonel's car and was caught. He confessed to hitting another car which resembles my hit with the paint of his car on mine another give away. He paid all our bills and had to buy a tyre for the Colonel.

My second, i hit a cow while i was driving to the mechanics to repair my failed brakes.

Dis happened to me on friday.. Tho d driver and his conductor came down and fixed my bumper... D car doesn't look as swit as it use to... After pleading I let dem go without collecting a dime...

1010101: I was hit by illegal Mexican dude trying to make illegal U'turn. He was just about to do what they do best "hit and run" once I saw he was Mexican I didn't give him the chance to.

I heard his mates driving by and yelling "vamonos" lol.. The funny thing is, he refused to give me his info not like I was gonna take it anyway without the police cuz those mofo will hit you, give you their info if you're lucky enough they stop or you don't give them chance of escape, they will use me no speak English to work with their insurance company to make it look like they didn't know what happened lol.

Good news, no injuries but car was totaled and I got just the value of my car.. Went for physical therapy/medical checkups all on his insurance expense Got a few $thousands from my insurance

First accident was in Christmas 2005. I was learning how to drive, no license permit, no driver's license, no insurance, minimal experience. I was driving a friend's car and he was sitting at the passenger's front seat. Rule is, to make a left turn at a traffic stop, you need to give right of way, I didn't know. I got to an intersection speeding as usual, next thing I know, I ran into a brand new Toyota Avalon. Did you read brand new? Yes and the car was wrecked beyond recognition and the driver (really old man) was picked up by an ambulance. Before the police arrived the scene, my friend jumped into the driver's seat to claim responsibility for everything or else, maybe I would have gone to jail that night.

Not a Maybe, if not that night at some point. That was a good friend though. Did you ever found out what happened to the old man?

Dis fateful day. The devil told me to leave my own car, and asked my dad for his 2012 camry. Drove out, enroute I decided to use an ATM. On reversing. Out of d bank. A speeding cab. Jst rammed into d rear end of mine. All that came to my mind was dis guy don sell him car to repair dis one.
On stepping out of d vehicle.
I jst saw it was a nissan micra taxi. And the driver was running away....I stood dere amazed why d guy ran away. Suddenly some terrorist bomb movie jst came to my head. Suddenly I walked away from the vehicle. Perplexed at the realilty of the damaged. The whole rear was n pieces. I stood dere for like 20mins till d driver came bck with police men and deir taxi unit chairman....well. The car jst got fixed after they cud only come up with 180k.I just let insurance handle the rest. I pocket 180k

it was my first day of driving, and i crashed into a tree damaging a tail light and resulting in some minor body work in reverse

Lesson learnt: the brake is more important than the accelerator (throttle)

Since then I ensure I master the brakes of every car I drive before playing games with speed

After that accident, I did not drive a car for a year.

I started driving simulators, improved my skills considerably with the simulator cause it was rather realistic and then went back to driving in real life.

When it came to time to drive again, I then took real live lessons in the dead of the night driving around and round my estate and did more reverses than I can remember, and now am a master of the art of reversing, all because I had an incident in my first reverse, and i promised it can never happen again.

Till date I have never had an accident and pray never to have!

Mine was a minor bash sha, one early morning o, I went to move the car so a neighbor could go out, all the mirrors and back screen were foggy but I felt like I had it covered.... I reversed back only to bump into a parked car behind. The damage to my own car wasn't much, bumper scratched a bit but the guys back door pressed inside.

I just parked and went to call my husband to settle the thing for me... The owner of the car didn't make a fuss sef as I was a woman....I got off really easy.

So on a faithful sunday morning my dad had gone on a trip. I told my mum that I want to give them a ride to church, but she said no, after gaining the votes of my siblings she then agreed. So I eagerly entered the car along side my mum, sisters and bro and we drove all the way to marine base, I was seeing my church and the church too could see me lmao then I decided to make a u turn @ the round about, my mum was like are u sure u can do it? let's take the civic centre route, I told her ah ah why I nor go fit do am nau. As I took the turn mumu like me just went straight hitting on the acceleration instead of the clutch, knocked down a woman pricing a motorcycle that will take her to church, she fell directly on my wind screen with her two hands widely spread, I tot she was dead oh. I destroyed the two okada drivers motorcycles. I was shock so I left the stirring and the car was just pushing all this people forward heading for a big pointing rod tiny, the police men were shouting, the people where shouting stop the car stop the car my mum was crying, my siblings where shouting chaii tiwanna u don kill us oh. It then dawn on me to match the break, put the car on neutral then off the ignition. I was almost arrested it was our church members and the lady who I hit that pleaded with the police men to leave me. But my dad paid for the damages I caused. Since that day I have never ever tot of going behind the wheels again ly ly I respect motor no be small thing.

lertee: I just finished from driving school so I felt confident that I was good to go.
I took the car on a friday and I drove perfectly on the street even on the express road.
I took it out again on satuday to the market and also visited a friend,on getting back I hit the car on the fence and the bricks fell plus the gate and car damaged. I jumped out of the car sweating like christmas chicken I didn't touch the car for a whole month due to fear.

I managed to get right behind the last escort and they kept paving the way in traffic like Moses and the Red Sea! Andrenaline was in full supply. THEN WITHOUT WARNING, I REAR-ENDED THE MOBILE POLICE HILUX!!! Smashed my left head light. They stopped, inspected their car, no damage. I was about to pee on myself then one of them motioned to me 'encouragingly', "Let's go!". I revved up my Toyota Camry wagon and continued the chase!!!!!

Just got a car and I was taught just once by a friend (went to driving school 2011 but didn't drive), I felt I had learnt sufficently. So started driving the kids to school oooooo, the 1st two day I was okay, on the 3rd day after dropping my kids in school, was on my way back home got to a junction and a car was coming out of the street to the road, immediately I saw the guy, I tried to brake but stepped on the accelerator gbosa!!!!!! I started shaking, took the guy to a panel beater I know to fix his car. Discovered later the guy was wrong to have jumped infront of me like that, but as a JJC I fix the guy car. Good thing was I still had to drive home so the fear did not really settle.

Hmmmmm....... plenty of good stories here. My first bashing of a car was in year 2000. I actually started driving 1996 and no bashing. This day, I had gone to another local government to drop my boss' kid in school. On my way back in a Mazda 323, one rickety peugeot 305 overtook me. I was like WTF!!! and gave chase. I hit 160km/h and this guy was still ahead. Then I had a flat tire, braked and the car somersaulted. Before the 305 overtook me, I was doing like 100km/h!!

My second was in owerri one good saturday morning. I was heading to PH for my cousin's wedding. I had slept over in Benin so the next morning at 6am, I hit the road. At about 8:00am, I was on the expressway heading away from owerri when an old man crossed the road without looking. I couldn't avoid him and I did not want to swerve as I was carrying my sis and coz. I hit him and he shattered my windscreen. See gbese!! By the time I settled them and got to PH, the wedding was over!

I always braged about not ever having a scratch and that was because I actually drove for about 7 year without a scratch until this faithful day.a drunk bike man just ran into me at a t junction.the rest is history.

waoh! you got me in stitches there! lovely dramatic effect! but don't give up on driving, summon on courage and get behind the wheels again not without going for tutorial though.

Mine was a very very bad experience! I nearly had a heart attack and really, it was very traumatic for me, for many months to follow.

In summary: I bought a brand new V-Boot Mercedes Benz in those days (funny the thing looks very ugly to me now, anytime l see them! ) for my wedding. That has always been my dream; not to borrow someone's vehicle for my wedding.

I took three weeks leave from work and just three days to the wedding, l was "recalled" to go back to work briefly for just like two or three hours (I am I.T. back then and there was something they need my help about, ...urgently).
So, l was behind this Peugeot 504 station Wagon and we were approaching a traffic light.
He sped-up to cross-over before it goes RED and l "turbo" my sleek automatic-gear injector-machine (that car literally jumps forward if you flatten the accelerator and you can feel it give you a slap on your back, as it surges forward!) to follow suit.

But alas, the guy driving the front vehicle got "born-again" and changed his mind about racing that Traffic light, ...just when he was on the light and l have just turbo-down my accelerator to follow him through!

He stopped with a screech and l used my own car to "shift him forward" across the junction!

Well, all my front side, from lights, bonnet to engine, was reduced to a crumble!
I cursed those who made the rear-chassis of that Peugeot 504, it was as hard as a rock! Nothing even do the vehicle!

One woman driving-by, burst out hysterically: Yeeepa, Gbeese le'leyi o! Oga'e ma lu'epa ni!! (this is big debt! Your master will kill you for this one) .......instead of offering me consolation!

Now, three days to marriage? Devil is a liar!!
I just continue to do "buy and replace" for every damaged part of the vehicle, including a new engine.

But to God be the glory, the vehicle did the wedding, by fire by force (but im cost me money no be small.... and the vehicle was never as good as the same again)

If not for the bolded part, l will have sworn you are "the guy" that forced his way in front of me on 3rd mainland Bridge one morning, when l was following those Police Escort! The guy almost ran me into the water, just to force his way behind the escort vehicles.
I cursed him (and it stuck! ) because not more than a minute later, the last escort vehicle braked suddenly and my guy rammed them wella!

The way they got down angrily and dragged him out for a "cool beating", l just shifted sideways a bit and drove-off quickly, thanking God for that "replacement" because it could have been me!

2 years ago, I had a self accident at Iyana oworo i ward 3rd mainland bridge due to a reckless driver that overtook me at a close range i was avoiding to hit from the rear... so i swerved into the convert...i will actually label that accident as an act of being inexperienced on my part because it could have being avoidable.

Secondly was sometimes least year after a hectic day at day work on Lagos island, i was going home and there was this traffic caused by Village witchcrafts on 3rd mainland bridge, Mad traffic....Omo i no know when i begin dose for steering, i hear gbosa my eye clear sharply.
I don jam one prado rear recovery hook, my headlamp cracked straight.... the prado guy too no even come down sef, we dey follow the traffic go like that....Very mad evening..

Mine happened today and still traumatise me presently. Infact that’s why I’m on this thread hoping to feel better if I read people’s story. It’s right here in the UK. I just got my car and started learning how to drive. I have learned a lot but not reversing and parking. Although I have driven the car few times. But not to a congested parking lot. I went for doctors appointment with my babe and couldn’t find a spacious place to park other than this congested parking lot. I drove too close to the parked car that I couldn’t reverse to repark. I was trying to move forward, I was too closed to the concrete wall. I began nervous and anxious. I tried to move forward again then I heard gbam. It was my bumper and headlights. God I felt so terrible. The scratch on the bumper it’s a bit much and the headlight is not too obvious. But I hate myself for. You hardly see bashed car here and I don’t want mine to be one. I’m really concern and feel so terrible. Now I’m going back to complete my training. I don’t want a scratch on my car not even a bash. I hate myself for it.
