Under Buhari’s watch as NNPC’s director, a lump
sum of N2.8 billion suddenly developed wings and
flew out of Nigeria’s coffers. Up till today, nobody
knows what happened to the money. In 2006,
Fabio Baiardi, a Swiss diplomat stationed in
Nigeria, said his country had repatriated $1.3
billion out of the $5 billion late dictator Abacha
stashed away in Swiss banks. Yet, Buhari said
Abacha did not steal from Nigerians. Till date,
Buhari has not been able to tell Nigerians where
all the PTF money he collected went to.
Buhari
behaves like someone who has skeletons in his
cupboard. If he has nothing to hide, why did he
refuse to appear before the Justice Oputa Panel,
to answer basic questions?
