Not true. Having 10% influence in a country as powerful as the US is better than being the god of Moldova.

However, Russia is a reasonably big/country and Putin has an outsized shared of power there. So him being ranked above Obama seems legit.

I think the premise for ranking Putin above Obama in the scheme of things has to do with how Putin has continously outsmarted Obama on the global chessboard and international politics.

We may cite Syria, Iran and Egypt also looks like it's going the way of Russia. The frustration in Israel should tell you all you need to know.

As for the EU, gazprom controls everything they do and they know better than to dare Russia/Putin, else the winter would so cold without gas.

This is a sensitive matter. One needs 2 take in-depth look @ d issue. What is d yardstick used 2 rate putin ahead of obama? Was it because of d role played in syria? Fellow Nlanders', if Obama did not come out with war strategy, Syrian govt. Will continue using banned chemical weapons on rebel which also affect the citizens, and putin was der couldnt do anything not untill d threat came.

Av dey forgotten dat part of been powerful is measured not only in terms of political influence, off-course which Obama has but also millitary capabilities, strong economy etc.
