is it true that a british passports enables one to travel to america.
i heard that one can travel there but you'll need a work permit to work and a student permit to study.apart from that as in if you just want to visit you can with ur british passport.

Yap, you are allowed to visit the US with your british passport, but you can't work or study.
You are allowed to stay a maximum of about 6months each time but as a visitor.
You have to get permits to be able to study or work

yes you can travel for holidays and don't need a visa except you have been convicted of any crime (such as evading bus and train fares).

your britsh passport enables you travell to a certain no. of copuntries outside the eu without a visa. They give u a waiver which allows you a certain no.of days u r allowed to stay in the country. some of those countries are .u.s, southafrica, u.a.e , singapore and a few others.

British passport is as powerful as American and Canadian Passports, u can go 2 most of da countries in da WEST without a visa
