My dear country focus on power supply if we can solve that problem in Nigeria haba we will fly believe me the unemployment rate will reduce drastically but once we do not solve the electricity problem the unemployment rate will continue to increase because even for the few companies we have their business sustainability will be threatened. 1 Like |

This news may appear false, but it is possible, as long as It doesn't say that PH is finer than Durban. I don't know why some people never get optimistic about Nigeria's future, even after what happened yesterday. Wake up people! Your country is undergoing metamorphosis. |

gbokukueba: How can a country that cant even feed itself and provide basics for her citizens overtake South Africa Dude, if you have no food to eat why not go to your village and farm instead of assuming others are all hungry failures like you? Or is your village experiencing a famine? Or you can get a bowl and beg at your local bus stop. Even that will get you enough money to feed yourself. So what is your problem? Ode oshi (cannot feed himself). 6 Likes |

There is a difference between Optimism and Realism. So you want us to jump up for joy, knowing fully well that the news is a distortion of the facts? Congrats to Nigerians for Golden Eaglets victory but I will prefer constant electricity, good infrastructure, good educational opportunities and a functional diversified economy rather than a few hours of euphoria because some over aged boys beat their junior brothers in a soccer competition. 1 Like |

I cannot believe Nigerians enjoy celebrating lies and silly propaganda, this is what Nigerians like, Prophesy, E-lies and Government Unfaithfulness, our mind are the most easy to deceive and this is the result of it, the only thing Nigeria can boast of as being ahead of SA is Population and Landmass , the rest are no match to be compared to with SA. if you like quote me and say rubbish, it is non of my business. 3 Likes |

See All4naija did his best on the other thread. You will see Naija's sef dissing ourselves. Biggest Economy in terms of GDP figures ( + exports, -imports ) can be possible. Though it does not mean HDI ( access to health care, education, financial system, water, electricity, poverty line etc.), don't confuse these two. Though growing GDP is suppose to lead to +HDI. So people focus on the topic in terms of GDP, unemployment rate, foreign reserves, Consumer Confidence Index etc. not on3 HDI 2 Likes |

Nigerians can be compared to a really sad individual, who thinks drinking pure table sugar can help heal his sadness. Obviously he's going to die faster; not of sadness but of some other disease associated with high sugar intake. 3 Likes |

femogbangba:What you prefer is a miracle. And it has to happen in the night, such that when you wake up, all these things you listed will become reality. Development is a process. One step at a time. That's why economist insists that it is 'Economic growth'. Graduates don't have jobs, standard of living is poor, our currency is over-inflated, corruption is killing us, etc. but guess what our GDP just increased by close to a double-digit (thanks to the hardwork of the citizens, not the leaders). That's a step forward bro, a progress. One step at a time. Besides our under 17 boys aren't over-aged, go and re-watch the matches and find out, don't always be 'a Thomas'. 2 Likes |

taharqa: By d way, d so-called Prof is wrong. It is d non-Oil, and not d Oil, sector that hv been driving Nigeria's growth in recent years How do you figure? Are there other statistics that could enlighten us? According to the stats on which the Prof bases his opinion, there was an 8 percent growth in the oil sector and a corresponding 6.6 percent growth in the economy. This means that other sectors (which we should identify) are not growing at the same rate and thus pulling back the average. The point we should be focused on is the fact that despite evident economic growth, unemployment is still on the rise. As already pointed out, we should invest hard in sectors that have the potential to create more jobs. It is a good thing that we are experiencing growth, the obvious problem though is that this growth is driven by the oil sector which is not sustainable. The oil revenue should be used to grow other sectors like agriculture and tourism. |

Not again...This is the biggest trash iv read in recent time. Nigeria is arrogantly lagging behind South Africa in all spheres. Education: This vital sector is supposed to build thr youths...the youths bn the future of the country, The Nigerian educational system/sector is in shambles!..SA has the best universities in africa and a couple of these universities in top 100 in the world... Power sector:..I don't need to strain myself on this cos I'm sure over 99% of people reading this in d darkness or running on generator...The sharp opp is the case in SA. Governance/Political system: south africa bn a member of BRICS says it all. ......I save my ink at this point, but I'd like to outline *hilariously*, some major points. - how many of you graduates in Nigeria no experience ASUU strike wen u dey university. -How many hours una dey get light for your ause. -after u graduate finish, if u no sabi person, NO WORK..lest I forget companies for naija now na Contract/temporary staff dem dey take now oo. -Na for naija one politician go dey embezzle millions *openly* and the *archaic* law no go fut nab am. - Na naija get oil and gas plenty bt how many of una fit afford gas cooker for ause talkless of kerosene. - Na for naija, .....Pls Abeg help me add d rest...hand dey pain me..... *feel free to ask for clarificatns* 2 Likes |
