I'm a chemical engineer, based in PH and i have a serious issue troubling me.
I don't want to sound conceited but the ladies i've dated can't cook and it's giving me serious cause for concern.
I'm a good cook myself, but unfortunately i don't have time as my job is so strenous that it sometimes requires me to shuttle between 3 states everyday and i get home too tired to even take off my clothes, let alone cook.
I had to break up with the last woman in my life due to this same issue.
She asked me to give her N50,000 to stuff my kitchen which i did and that was after bragging to me how good a cook she was.
Unfortunately,i was repeatedly disappointed by the poor meals she prepares and i had to call it quit.
I've dated quite a few other ladies before her,yet they were all the same and a number of them have actually landed me at my company hospital due to runny stomach.
The few times i get to travel to see my mother,i end up taking away much food which has led to her asking me questions about the the women in my life.
Infact,i reduced the frequency of my visits to avoid those questions she asks me.
Nowadays,i come back home from work late and very tired and i just go straight to bed hungry despite having a significantly- stuffed kitchen.
I'm frustrated and i'm thinking of asking my mum to get me a good, educated wife that can cook.
I'm not one to delegate such sensitive matters to parents, but then it seems i've no choice.
I've been advised to get a maid, but the thing is i just don't trust them with my food and i don't want to put myself in compromising situations that may dent my reputation.
I want to know if there're people who have been in the same situation with me and how they solved it.

All the women you ve met cant cook.
Get a maid, you said you cant trust a maid with such "sensitive" issues.

My advice- Lower your expectation. I do not see the women as the one's having issue here. Your expectation might just be too high.
You are gifted/talented in kicthen affairs does not mean that every woman that comes your way should cook more than you do.

How about settling for one of them and "schooling" her to meet your taste bud needs kitchen wise?
If they dont have it, anything wrong in you teaching them for your stomach sake?

if she's a freak in bed, gives awesome BJs with good hygiene, why should something as unimportant as cooking really matter?

you can cook yourself so strap on your apron & your red kitchen hat and make your woman a delicious food. as long as one of you can do the job, there shouldn't be any worry.

How is it possible no single one of your girlfriends knows how to cook?

That means the issue is with the type of things that attract you in a woman, maybe you go for beauty and money without also considering homeliness.

Anyway, either send a girlfriend to cooking school ( if she agrees), or ask before dating someone, if she can cook, and make sure you sample the food first ( maybe with friends) just to be sure.

Dunno, just my two cents.

Marry a maid then, since all you are looking for in a Woman is her ability to fill your Stomach.

what else should a man go for if not beauty? homeliness is not necessary. as long as a woman loves a man, she would do everything to please him including self-training herself in the art of cooking.

Then the man should reciprocate by bearing with the woman's lack of cooking if he loves her.

chaircover: This sounds rather strange, that none of the girls that you go out with can cook.

All said and done; If you do find a lady that you like but her only negative is that she cant cook, but as you say, you can cook and if she is a lady ready to learn, then why dont you consider teaching her rather than trowing away an otherwise good relationship

Dont also forget that some people are better at cooking certain foods than others. For example my fried rice is super and people eat my fried rice and tell me to go and become a caterer, I laugh because up until now I avoid cooking ogbonna because I dont feel that confident cooking it. growing up we never cooked it and it was my husband who taught me how to cook it.

Cooking Ogbonna? shocked shocked shocked

Can you cook Adaobi or Awele then? grin

that's exactly what i told him in my first comment. it's not compulsory for husband & wife to know how to cook. as long as one of them is good at it, there shouldn't be any problem.

i think the OP needs to calm down.....

I think you need to start by first deciding what it is you really want from a relationship and what your priorities are.

What is the single most important thing you want in a lady (of your dreams)? Is it beauty? Brains? Cooking prowess or even sex.ua.l prowess in bed? If cooking isn't top on your list, then you should consider teaching these girls yourself. Yes, being able to cook is important, but it's not the be-all-and-end-all of a relationship, which I think you know - otherwise, you'd probably be best settling for a village bella who cooks like Nigela Lawson but might be lacking in other important areas like education and personality...

Best of luck though.

Get your as..s all up in that kitchen and take control!

Get a pro cook to train your girlfriend how to cook if you cant train her.

If you love someone you will do anything to help that person - within reason at least!

I am from the school of thought that believes no one was born to come and die in the kitchen whipping up tantalizing and sumptuous meals

I do however believe, any girlfriend or wifey should be able to make good meals, no matter what it takes ... the basics at least

If you pick up a lady who cant hack it in the kitchen, and you can, if you love her, get your as..s all up in that kitchen, teach something into her and do your fair share, you will be helping both of you ... you learn, she learns and its all happy ending that way!

I dont wait for any woman to sort me out with food ... I get in there and do the business, but i am lucky enough i dont have to do it unless i insist or its something special or just giving the missus a bit of a break.

I have never, thanks to good training and respect .... my dear lady loves that but she doesnt take advantage of my culinary skills

also food can taste different to different people. I sometimes come across it at parties, where I may say a dish tastes nice and my husband may say it tastes horrible.

In short, look at the bigger picture. There is much more to a good woman than just cooking. Yes its important to be homely, but dont let the cooking alone cloud everything.

You are probably better off getting that maid, if you want to have good meals every day and Even if you get a girl friend who can cook, surely you cant expect her to sit in your house and cook for you everyday. She is not your wife & she will also have a life of her own.

Haha, I can't cook to save my life nd when am hungry, I don't know wat is delicious and what is not, I just eat and go to sleep... U dey tired and you still dey find sweet food? U never tire be dat...
I think it has to do with ur expectations, Pple have different cooking styles and meals taste differently depending on the cook.. If you expect the food to taste lyk ur mums or yours, you are on a long thing... I don't want to believe all their meals are dat bad...

You're fed up?? Are you a toddler? You sound like it's the sole responsibility of the woman to do the cooking like she's your maid.

If she can't cook and you can, get in the kitchen man and do the cooking and stop whining and expecting the woman to be your nanny angry angry
