A friend asked me why is Nigeria not able to have her own Visa lottery program? I felt that's way too much to ask from our dear country. I believe Nigeria must fix the critical sectors of her economy before even dreaming of having a visa lottery program. How can you have such program when your educational sector is in shambles and marred with incessant ASUU strike actions, how can you dream of such program when you cannot guarantee stable supply of electricity, pipe borne water, good and pliable roads, decent health care system and so on. In my opinion, the country is still very far away from such realities! I may be wrong, so what do you think fellow NLders?

Its jst dat, it may not be in the agenda of our Leaders/oga @ the top. Well you can only do Diversity Visa Lottery when u knw that the workforce in your country cannot support the growing economy, or 70% of the population are within retirement age causing a serious lack of workforce, or there is a serious lack of technical skills in all sector. Also if you ready to diversify your country and make it a no mans land and where everybody is liberal with their religion and beliefs provided they obey the country law. Nigeria already have an overwhelming workforce, world bank said 60% of Nigeria population are below 30 years old and above 17 years. Also most of the youth are technical and have the ability to learn new skills within a short time. As for Diversity, Nigeria is still fresh even in your resume you list state of Origin some jobs list that u must be from so and so place before you can even apply, in the United States you can even sue the company. Nigeria style Resume is a walking law suit in the US. If u use to apply for jobs Employers will delete it because we ask for to many details, another problem is that an Ijaw man cannot come contest in Kano state is he Mad , just imagine a European that gets the lottery and after becoming a Nigerian Citizen he want to contest in Kano who will vote for him . So as you can see our economy and the people ideology plus the high ignorance of the people in the country won't permit such things as Diversity lottery to happen.
