Another dumb bloke here! Two dates were given 1238 in the Islamic ( Hijra ) calendar which corresponds with 1824 in Christian calendar. There is always about 600 years difference.

You are really ignorant. Where did you see "century" written in the post? You expect El- Kanemi 200 years ago to date his letter with the birth of Christ ? The letter was dated by Hijra calendar and the OP explained that to be equivalent to 1824 in the calendar you understand. Please shut up! And Usman Dan Fodio did not bring Islam to Hausaland.
