She can be the alternate president of the world, but if her position does nothing to improve the lot of the average Nigerian, then it is meaningless. |

la furia: Will this translate to decrease in oil bunkering, oil subsidy thefts,? Nigerians have always gotten several awards but ends up on the wall of their office, it doesn't translate to Any meaningful progress.Nigerians in govt hardly wins international awards, which is usually based on merit and achievement than the usual buying of awards in Nigeria. This is probably the first administration to have outstanding and internationally-aclaimed individuals as part of its economic team. And yes,her presidency would increase Nigeria's standing in the international community and divert much needed investment, expertise and exposure into the Nigerian oil&gas industry. |

oyb: before the gej noisemakers finish drowning this thread in meaningless backslapping -And how does this belittle anything? Yes,the job of the president of a UNION is to preside over the meeting of the Union. That dosen't take away the fact that she was adjudged qualified and cerebral enough to be given the presidency of an important and major union like OPEC. It shows that the best brains with international competitiveness and good leadership skills are in charge of Nigeria's economy. And the fact that she's the first woman in the midst of shariah-states like saudi-arabia,qatar and co makes it more impressive. |

1MCN:Yes, indeed, Nigeria may never have this administration any more! But let us pray for an improvement. The election that brough Shagari's government carries with it all amount of support from south south, south east. The same support was given to Obasanjo. In fact almost every Nigerians from the above regions were singing praises for the performance of governor Fashola openly whether in the air, roads, even in the waterrine areas, because these people felt we are one united nation. When it come to the Izon man, GEJ, the west, the north want him down. As it stand now, no one will, as a result of this dislike for others, sing praises to those who are outstanding because we have realised that if a leader is not from either the west or north, he or she is highly hated and marked down for for complete run down through all available means including Boko haram. And some idi.ot are saying inspite of this high degree of tribal hatred, they are expecting a Mandela from Nigeria. We can never produce any generally acceptable leader any more since such a leader will be from a particular tribe, others will ensure that he or she will not be given beathing space to perform. If I may ask, do we still hear of praise songs over Fashola performance as before? No matter how you are I will personally go for the finishing of such individual provided he or she is from the north or west even though am from the west and south south. 2 Likes |
