So much for a religion of peace angry
I think that not the real message of the movie. the so call bull wasn't doing it for religion reason. those guys thought they were performing jihad but that moment he ordered the elimination of a fellow Muslim, shred that claim.

Taxi Driver

When I saw this movie as a teenager, I couldn't fully grasp the whole story, albeit I enjoyed the action parts, but on a rewatch (thanks to a recommendation on this thread), it was oh so different. It wasn't always an easy watch, but very rewarding nonetheless.

Overall, I really appreciated all the little details and foreshadowing I noticed on the second watch. Also as someone that appreciate film scores (OST), the music is perfect for the film.

7.5/10

It is not unusual for Muslim terrorists to kill muslims. Just read about the persecution of ahmadiyya muslims.

Hotel Mumbai..

I hardly see movies twice, but with this flick, i take an exception. While viewing the flick a second time, i noticed the following:
So as of 2008 local police in Mumbai used locally fabricated guns with just 6 rounds. Damn!.. If this were still applicable over there now, then our local police deserves some credit, at least, the standard AK-47 rifle is equipped with 30-round per magazine & our local police carry at most 2 magazines, that's 60 rounds. At least, with that, they stand a fighting chance against any opposition. Bringing a fabricated hand gun with just 6 rounds to a gun fight with a rapid fire weapon, was very suicidal of 'em, little or no wonder they stood no fighting chance and were vanquished.

I also noticed that most, if not all of these pawn Jihadist terrorists are illiterates, unexposed & uneducated. I don't really think there is any amount of brainwashing that can bend a learned folk, into committing genocide & suicide all in the name of religion. Brainwashing works well with those who can't tell their right from their left. And to cap it all, most of the orchestrators of these terrorist acts are literates & exposed. Thus, their education bestows on them, a coign of vantage from which they use religion as a weapon, to recruit their Tabularazer followers who they know possess little or nothing to expunge from cognitively, thus making inputting of their own radical ideas and hatred very easy.
From time memorial, religion has always been a tool used by man to perpetuate the wickedness of his heart against his fellow man. I just wish folks would have that disposition, that God/Allah doesnt really need anybody to fight his wars, his entity is more than capable enough to handle his business. That's why i so much share the same view with the atheist that religion(all of 'em) is actually a big scam, but strongly disagree with them on their core principle.

The Exorcist 6/10

Another over hyped horror movie angry I started this movie with apprehension but when I was finished, I felt like I just watched a comedy. The flick was funnier than it was scary, no terrifying moment at all. Not a bad movie, would have rated more if it wasn't termed "the best" horror movie of all time.

My favourite line: let Jesus fvck you, let him fvck you, you dumb bitch! grin

I just caught the last 40 minutes of a movie right now, based on a true life story and set in Jim Crow Texas. Denzel Washington was the teacher and mentor of a debate team from a lowly negro school called wilo college. The team managed to debate their way across the states and take on Havard in the final. The closing debate by the young 14 year almost brought tears to a niggas eyes grin

Has anyone watched this movie and please what's the title? I was hoping to catch the title in the post credit scenes but the useless station went straight to commercials.

The great debaters. Powerful movie.

I didn't find it horrifying one bit just like the shining, but they are both good movies, it's just that they couldn't deliver on the horror.

Yeah that line cracked me up plus the tone with which it was said. I felt like the girl was possessed by a clown. cheesy

I did consider that, it was a beautifully acted movie and I must confess that I was really into it, my deal was that I was expecting horror instead I got comedy. This is the second much hyped horror movie I've seen (the first being the shining) and I was disappointed by both but I must confess that the exorcist was far better than the shining.

Watch it again, this time with an open mind.

sickening? Hmmm. Seems you dont have the stomach for gore. If on screen gore can sicken you, men I don't wanna know what real life gore will do to you.

You know if there's one thing I thank the almighty for as regard you, is that you didn't attend the same university I did. smiley

Lovely movie with good "memories" beaten only by Wall E and minions.

I did t see the purpose. I think a major point in favour of the movie was it showed the complete senselessness of terrorism.

The entire thing was just like mindless violence.

My dear, my parents wouldn't have let me go to any school where there is even a hint of unruliness.

You're right though, I can't stand gore. I can't even look at an open wound, no matter how small it is. However, what sickened me in the movie isn't the blood; it is the illogical violence. Man's inhumanity to man. I had to go and read up on the attacks and wasn't too surprised by the motivation: Islamic fundamentalism.

I even learned the attackers were on steroids, which showed in their cool ,steady and cheerful demeanor as they butchered their fellow human beings. See, every human being has a conscience which will rebel against acts of pure evil, but foreign substances can be used to numb that conscience so that it does not interfere in their mission. The effects of these substances are only temporary, and repeated action of those atrocities will finally deaden every wave of remorse they ought to feel (kamikaze bombers are often high on drugs).

These boys were actually making jokes and laughing as they wreaked carnage and wasted lives. THAT is what sickened me.

man doesn't really have a conscience. They only thing that prevents man from showing his true colours is the law, without it, we're no better than animals, actually were worse.

Have you asked yourself why or how come the most despicable of acts are committed in countries where the law is not really enforced? Or when there is war?

Man does, but when you commit acts of evil unchecked, your conscience dies.

So does that mean that your conscience is dead? Given all the atrocities you committed as a mod. Banning innocent people, favouritism and nepotism.

Even as an ex-mod, an ordinary nairaland civilian, you have gotten innocent people banned due to your connections. Even right here on this thread......
