On educative note, lets go to the basis. Christ is a Greek word for messiah in Hebrew. The first letter of Christ in Greek(Χριστός) is "X" pronounced "khi" followed by "p" pronounced "ro". So, X could be abbreviation for Christ as we NG could be Nigeria. For example catholic church use superposed "X" and "p" as an abbreviation for Christ(Χριστός) which is d the first two letter of Christ in Greek. Dat is my opinion. |

From the days of Jesus' disciples, they used the "X" representing the cross, and they also used the fish to represent Christians. Try and read a bit about the history of your "faith". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_symbolism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chi_Rho |

It is a gradual way of the devil to take Christ out of everything and it may look insignificant but it is the devil's strategy. Jesus Christ the reason for our celebration. Merry Christmas |

CHRISTMAS: substituting X for CHRIST is an anomaly. Its a delibrate attempt to remove d very essence of it (CHRIST) from d word. I have being educating piple since morning about this issue."Do not be ignorant of the devices of d devil" its not jst a mere abbreviation,it's way more than that. MERRY CHRISTMAS 1 Like |

The truth is, we Christians are always in a hurry, to get what we want, be what we want, and do what we want. There is nothing like a short cut to heaven. Spend some time and mention the name Christ instead of shortening it. The reason for our existence is to worship God in Christ Jesus. So when the anti Christ deceive you, you refuse to because you know the truth. So, stop avoiding the name Christ and say a merry Christmas to somebody. Try writing Christmas and striking out Christ with a letter X for failure, you get it. So, it's always Christmas, don't be anti Christ. Peace to you all |
