Aviation Agencies Hold National Prayer For Air Safety by fkaz(m): 8:52am On Jan 06, 2014
Leaders of aviation agencies yesterday organised “National Aviation Prayers“ in Lagos to seek divine intervention on safety and other issues in the Aviation sector.
The national prayers was held at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja.
It was the first time agencies in sector gathered to seek divine solutions to the myriad of challenges facing the sector.
Muslim and Christian personnel in the sector attended the prayers to seek God help to turn around the fortunes of the sector.
It was organised by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB).
Setting the tone for the prayer session, NAMA’s Managing Director Nnamdi Udoh said the agencies deemed it necessary to seek divine help in the affairs of the sector to get better results.
Udoh said the national prayers would transform affairs of the sector this year.
NCAA’s Director-General Captain Fola Akinkuotu took the Bible reading from Psalms 103: 1- 22.
In his message, titled: When God’s People Pray, the guest pastor, Rev. Kalu Ukpai of The Presbyterian Church, Ojodu, said the aviation industry would experience great changes, if the players in the sector sought God’s help through prayers.
Ukpai urged the players in the sector to pray throughout the season to enable God turn things around.
He said Nigeria’s problem was traceable to the failure of leadership, as encapsulated by the pamphlet written by the late literary icon, Prof Chinua Achebe.
He said: ”When God’s people pray, errors in the system will be corrected. If Nigerians pray, heaven will cancel all evil plans.
“Fervent prayers will change the future of Nigeria.”

Prayer to
to change themselves, to do the right things, do proper procedural inspections, change equipment when its due, etc. Prayer will never change God, to condone sloppy inefficiency.

He should also tell them not to do the NEEDFUL again and not only prayers.

BTW how much did they budgeted and spend for this prayer section

Shallow prayers, no wonder God is punishing some people in this country.
Because the Bibile says 'The offering of the evil-doer is disgusting (abomination) to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright man is his delight.' Proverbs 15:8
- Basic English Bible

They are heaping more fire on top of their head.
Same with Akpabio wey do Solemn prayer for politicians not knowing they are inciting God to anger

Funny country, funny people. Even the bible says that faith (prayer included) without works is dead. After prayer what happens next? Everyone goes back to the same devilish attitude towards the sector by stealing looting and not paying attention to technical issues and expect a change? I seriously doubt that any change will come.

If God changes things in the aviation sector with people praying only and not doing any works in line with their prayer points, I will denounce my faith in God as he has gone against his words.

The minister I verified brought in chinese companies to do everything, its that company that left tractors on the tarmac that the saudi cargo plane ran into at abuja recently, itss another of her chinese crony firms that supplied loading equipment to nahco and they say the equipments are failing everyday in less than one month of using them. Inspite of this obvious failure factor which should be addressed first some buff..ons are calling on God as usual, what is wrong with this hopeless country?

The prayers are very necessary, and can help. And things can be done correctly. See how Mrs Okonjo-Iweala presented a budget that is so verifiable, that those who have no at all are now able to criticise and follow Govt Income & Expenditures. IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO THINGS RIGHT IN NIGERIA.

Re: Aviation Agencies Hold National Prayer For Air Safety by jayAjoku(m): 9:50am On Jan 06, 2014
praying will not solve inefficiency or incompetency in the aviation industry. They have to step up their game and then put it in prayer. God favours the prayers of the diligent . You can pray from now till next year if you dont improve your workrate. It is useless.

Madam Stella Oduah has gone back to bizness and sm jobless pple are praying. That woman ought to have resigned or sacked. Na nky for naija we dey think say God go cum down cum solve our problems...jokers!

Prayers?
Nothing bad about praying when HOME WORK is properly done.

They should go and do their work well, and leave the prayers to those passengers on board.

Instead of praying for safe flights which is necessary, but pray for the heads to see to necessary issues in the aviation kingdom!

Always turning everything to religion...."Act of God"

As much as prayers are good and can be used to avert ugly situation. Prayers can only work when d needful is done accompanyed wit prayers. Moreover those concerned need to turn away from their sins and repent and seek d face of God sincerely. And stop being wicked. Dts d only solution.

Broda! I wil agree with u dat the prayer is baseless for saying Madam not functional is a blatant lie. I don't know if u'v traveled by air resently, she is doing well but wicked ppl are also working against her for selfish interest, she is the best aviation minister Nig has ever had.

This is what happens when people are overtly religious and believe in NONSENSE. . . .Prayers will NEVER help NIgeria, plrayer alone has NEVER helped any country to develop. . .What ever man needs to do MUST be done by man. . .Other countries are dumping religion and prayers, and we can see how they are constantly developing we the foools in Nigeria chose to keep hugging superstition and ancient religious jargon. . .No wonder we will never develop if we keep holding this stupid and backward mindset. . .

But "faith without work is dead" you can be deep-rooted into Maladministration and be expecting good governance through prayer.

With due respect, that's a very f@@lish comment. If u denounce ur faith, who suffers? God or you? Who will be ur advocate at the judgement Throne annd what argument can u give? Pls always rmbr dat d lake of fire is a real place.
