650 million pounds == 1,333,215,000 dollars, which is more than half of Kroenke's wealth.

My question is, why would a sane man invest more than half of all his wealth in Arsenal?

If he can buy just 51% of the shares, he can automatically take over the club.
He doesn't even need to pay for the 51% outrightly. He must pay it instalmentally so it is a wise move as long as Arsenal wins trophies.
With club's success, demands for merchandises will rise and several deals with sponspors will sky-rocket thus boosting revenue.
The 60,000 capacity stadium is another massive boost for income and in no time, they will break even and make profits.

Van persie looks red hot, Walcott looks sharp as well, but Adebayor still has a long way to go on his finishing, though you can't doubt his work rate and commitment. As long as he is paired with a hot goalscorer like RVP or Eduardo, we should be ok.

Although Ed didn't play as centrally as I expected against the Genc-whatsitcalled club, and I have fears about his size, he reminds me of pedro munitis who played for Madrid a few years back.

Haven't seen much from Bendtner though, he's supposed to be 4th/5th in the strikers pecking order still an unknown if you ask me
