Re: V_ray Forum by dblock(m): 6:09am On Apr 05, 2010 |
How Do you make a render like this Where the outside is bright and shining into the interior www.nairaland.com/attachments/192404_library_jpg1635c1e7baa286390351d38ab432fc66 Im trying to render a scene where the inside is mostly lit up by the bright sun shining in through the window. but I cant think of a way to do it. |
Re: V_ray Forum by zPixel(m): 9:10am On Apr 05, 2010 |
@dblock You simply place a vray rect light at the window with high enough intensity. You can also consider changing the color of the light depending on the time of the day you're planning to simulate. Hope this helps. |
Re: V_ray Forum by dblock(m): 7:47am On Apr 06, 2010 |
This is what i came up with but I am not using Vray, I am using Fryrender, I simply used the same technique you said |

My other stuff |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 3:25pm On Apr 07, 2010 |
for the interior scenes,u should use a direct light coming in through the window,to simulate the sun's rays coming into the room then a vray plane light at the window to give u a bright window |
Re: V_ray Forum by dblock(m): 10:30am On Apr 08, 2010 |
By Direct light do,,,you mean something like a spot light/omni light. Something very bright, ? |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 11:22am On Apr 08, 2010 |
in max there s a standard light called target direct light thats what u should use.dont use omni or spot light as they do not simulate the sun's rays.the target direct light gives a beam of light coming through the window like the sun's rays. |
Re: V_ray Forum by dblock(m): 3:09pm On Apr 08, 2010 |
I don't use Max, The only way you can create light in the render engine that I am using is with emitters. |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 11:44pm On Apr 09, 2010 |

Behind, i have a ship load of questons 1. From your experience, how long does it take to render with vray on the average? I think it is frustratingly slow. How can I make it faster. 2. Do dimensions really matter or help produce realistic renders? What units would your recommend? Does vray work with real life dimension or is it irrelevant? 3. Pls can I get a comprehensive tutorial that also deals with materaial and shading from you. Pls anyone, How can u help? |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 3:08pm On May 13, 2010 |
dont know why my previous posts were deleted.cant start retyping all i had written earlier but go to spot3d.com,vrayelite.com and u ll be able to get some help |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 3:10pm On May 13, 2010 |
as i said earlier, a medium sized model should take more than 20 mins to render if u optimise the settings.may ur system is the cause of the rendering being slow. |
Re: V_ray Forum by tushbobo(m): 8:48am On May 26, 2010 |
dont know about ur settings but vray is the fastest renderer i ve used.May be there s something wrong w ur system config or vray settings, for instance vray takes much longer to render on my laptop than on my desktop.i think a spec of 2.4 Ghz,4 gig ram should be the minimum if u want to enjoy rendering engines in general- vray inclusive. dimensions dont really matter as long as ur models are to scale,i personally use millimeters.U can use meters or feet,it doesnt really matter. U can join vray-materials.de.though i dont use their materials,it will help u understand shading better. |

A cry for help you people (bilie, codename47, tunslike, syllla, zpixel, xwit, damseremie, cgking, xthermik etc,) have really amazed me. I am a specialist in stilgraphic application like: corel draw, but just join the motion graphic empire. How would I be lifted up in AFTEREFFECTS, 3DMAX, and other animation softwares. Please if you are pundit in any of this, kindly mail me This is my mail: olansgraphics@yahoo.com Thanks and God bless. |
Re: V_ray Forum by CGKing(m): 10:28am On Jul 11, 2010 |
To learn aftereffects, you go to www.videocopilot.com or search for it on the web. To learn 3dmax go to www.3dtotal.com. Cheers. |

How good is VRay compared to the other render generators? from what I've seen here we have some good architects here. . .looks like i got some competition |
