Good .morning house..... I have a toyota camry le 2003.. Last friday on my way to work my car started misbehaving i.e some terrible sound came up couple with the car jerking and struggling to move on gear
I was told to replace the shaft head that is inside the gear that it has pulled out....
I notice that after the mechanic fixed the shaft(tho i wasn't there) but afterwards the car moves fine...
But i noticed since then , my car makes some tiny noise whenever am moving on gear one and gear two ,on the side he fixed,
I already serviced the gear but the huuuuuuu sound still persist.
Now my mechanic said its either the bearing in the gear is bad or the shaft replaced isn't for my car or the back axle oil is dry
Pls help( note. Gear select n pick up fine)

Mr Gazzuzz, thanks for the engine purchase. Picked up yesterday, fixed today. Car is up and running. Mech said na correct sound engine I buy come from lagos.

If spark and fuel supply confirmed. Next check compression. If poor then focus on valves and head gasket

Although i used QUARTZ 5000 20W50 because i did not see recomended oil grade of 5W30 of TOTAL.
1.What could be the problem or cause the smoke?
2.What will be the solution to that because i am scare of mechanic not to open my Engine.
3.What product of Oil should i use.
Please help me out .I need your help.

Sorry bro. Those engines are very expensive.. Take the car to a specialist, even if it will cost you a lot.. Radauto in Lekki is my recommendation .. They have the rite tools to diagnosis your car .. They don't come cheap at all ,but it is better to take it to a place that can get the job done... that 20w50 oil you are using is the wrong, more than likely that oil has done grieve damage to your engine.. I tell people all the time follow the owners manual.. Some go hear and some are paying for it now ..good luck bro ....keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best, but prepare for the worse

Nb: there's no thermostat

Will fixing back the thermostat solve this or should change the sensor too

Finally summoned the courage to open up the engine(good to see it's somewhat sludge free) which was done by a recently identified Professional, so It happened that valve was the problem (one of the valve got bored in have no idea how that was possible).
