Fuel cap already changed..

Common reasons for this to happen:



Dirty Oxygen Sensor: An oxygen sensor
measures exactly how rich or lean the exhaust
gases are when they leave the combustion
chamber. The data is used by the vehicle
computer to adjust the amount of fuel
entering the engine. If the sensor is dirty or
failing it can lead to a drop in miles per
gallon. It can also lead to failed emission
tests and a rough idle.

Dirty Fuel Injectors: Fuel injectors spray fuel
into the cylinders where it is mixed with air
and ignited. Over time the fuel injector
system can become clogged. This can lead
to a drop in fuel efficiency as well as slow
acceleration and the car not having enough
power. If caught early, simply cleaning the
injectors can solve the problem. As it
progresses, the injectors may have to be
replaced.





Bad or Dirty Spark Plugs: Spark plugs ignite
the fuel in the combustion chamber. If they
are dirty or working incorrectly, it can cause
the engine to misfire, leading to poor engine
performance. This can lead to a lack of
power as well as a big decline in fuel
efficiency.





Misaligned Tires: Tires that are low or out of
alignment can lead to a drop in fuel
efficiency. Checking the tire pressure and
have the alignment checked on regular basis
can help prevent this problem....





Defective Fuel Pump: Fuel delivery issues
can drastically affect fuel efficiency. The fuel
pump pulls fuel from the gas tank to the fuel
injectors. The fuel pump can become
clogged or malfunction. A bad fuel pump can
lead to a rough running engine because it is
not getting enough fuel. This will lead to a
decline in gas mileage. If this issue is not
addressed it will lead to a rough, idle,
sputtering and stalling.



Clogged Fuel Filter: A clogged fuel filter will
also cause problems with gas mileage. The
fuel filter screens out contaminants in the
fuel, and over time it will become clogged.

A mechanic will inspect your fuel injectors, spark
plugs, airflow sensor, tires and other important
components to reach an accurate diagnosis. It
may be necessary for the mechanic to test drive
the car to produce acceptable results and

How important is this service?


A few of these issues are easy to fix but others
are an indicator of a much more serious
problem. Issues related to the fuel system will
eventually lead to a rough running engine,
stalling, and a car that won’t start at all.

P0420 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)". This can happen for multiple reasons and a mechanic needs to diagnose the specific cause for this code to be triggered in your situation. .







(Common causes of the P0420 code?)

Damaged muffler or leaks in the muffler. Damaged exhaust manifold or leaks in the exhaust manifold. Damaged exhaust pipe or exhaust pipe leaks. A misfire in the engine. 1. Check Engine Light is on. Many things can trigger the check engine light to turn on . A mechanic will need to use a diagnostic tool to read the code and pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. 2. Lack of power after vehicle warms up. The engine will not run as well and may not provide enough power for acceleration. 3. Speed of vehicle may not exceed 30-40 mph. This may cause issues when driving along highways and freeways with higher speed limits, though you may not notice the symptom if you drive slower through mostly-residential areas. 4. Rotten egg smell coming from the exhaust pipe. This smell occurs from the incorrect amount of oxygen in the catalytic converter, which leads to excess sulfur in the fuel tank, creating the odor from the exhaust system.


. Keep in mind: Problems with the ignition system, fuel system, air intake, and misfires can damage a catalytic converter if they are not addressed quickly. These components are most the common causes of the P0420 trouble code.

So since I bought my rx350 over 6months ago
I have frequently been fixing the exhaust of the car due to the unusual sound I hear while driving, but it’s bothering me now cause I’m about to fix it again for the 4th time, my mechanic made mention that some catalyst are missing in it.
I quite didn’t get what he said at the time, but I made my research about it afterwards.

My question is has anyone had a similar experience And how were you able to fix your car. (Lexus rx350)

Thanks sir. The red arrow port has been blocked for about 4yrs now and it hasn't affected it like this since then. I once unblocked it but the least RPM was 2000 plus. Sir pls, can I have more details about the significant of the 2arrow port?
