Nigeria captain Joseph Yobo says the Super Eagles have put their bonus row
aside and will concentrate on the task of beating France on Monday.


Players skipped training on Thursday as they demanded for the payment of
their appearance bonus for making it out of the first round of the World Cup.
The squad had agreed a graduated
percentage payment for each stage, and
the players wanted the first instalment,
for reaching the round of 16, paid.
Yobo says the players have resolved to
the issue behind them and focus on
football. "I can tell you as team captain that the team will travel to Brasilia today and
we will train, and play against France."
"We are here to play for our country,"

The squad are scheduled to depart from Campinas at 2PM local time (6PM
Nigeria time), and Yobo insists there will be no further issues.
"We will be on that plane. And we will train today."

You can not claim to serve your country when all you talk about is money. Employees of most organisations get paid at the end of the month after working. The world cup last for a little over a month. Why cant Nigerian players be patient and just focus on football itself until after the world cup?

The players were promised by NFF that they'll be payed a certain amount immediately they get out of d group-stage.But NFF didnt keep to their promise.Thats why they were protesting.They wouldnt be protesting if NFF had said they'll pay up the money AFTER THE WORLD CUP.

they can not make noise about being in Brazil to serve their country when all they do is check their bank accounts in real time!

Do the players feed themselves? do they pay their hotel bills themselves? why cant they keep the money talk until after the tournament? African teams need to stop these bonus rows. its embarrassing!

you commented like you aren't a nigerian or not in nigeria. You wrote that employers pay at month ending and the players are only asking to be paid the DUE money. Havent the fg made money available b4 the WC? Why then is nff failing to pay? Of course these pot bellied politicians are not to be trusted. Believe me, nff may fail to pay them when the WC ends.

have you ever heard of european, asian or american country players complaining about payments? No. It is not because they are patriotic; it is because their countrys' FAs pay them as and when due. Don't forget that it was nff that promised to pay at a particular time and failed to pay as promised. If am in the players' shoes, i will do the same. Pot bellied politicians are not to be trusted.

I am not defending NFF but the players need to stop embarrassing us. After the World Cup the will surely recieve their money, if they don't someone will get in trouble.

So there is just no basis for players who claim to be serving their nation to refuse training because of money! Because they seem to be clearly serving their pockets!
