First, I do not know or support Fayemi.
My focus is simply on not repeating all the mistakes that got us to this low level. Fayose's victory is completely more of what got us here in the first place.

For any Government, any country, any society, any group of people or animals to allow an individual that was impeached for corruption and murder to contest for the same position, without first facing all charges against him or her in a court of law is a complete lunacy at its best.
It says a lot not only about our inept leadership style in Nigeria or our subnormal system, but also what the people of Nigeria are mostly made of. It is extremely disappointing that Nigeria as the GIANT of Africa is full of nothing, but an immensely mentally blind group of people....that may not see until the end of time. It is sad indeed!

Whether we like it or not, Nigeria will not move forward unless something severely unprecedented happens. Fayose represents nothing, but the history we want to leave behind if we're serious about moving this nation up to where we should be.

My prayer goes to the innocent children and poor senior citizens all around the country.

Here comes the youngster!
There is nothing foolish than responding without first understanding what you're responding to.

1. There is no one here calling Fayose a criminal (facing charges against you in the court of law is completely different from being called a criminal)
2. Do we all understand what it means when a governor is impeached?
3. If you pay attention it wouldn't take you too long to realize that Fayose is not to be blamed, and in fact, I'm not targeting Fayose. What is on ground is much bigger than Fayose.

My focus is not on politics, or insulting anyone...I'm focusing more on 3 things (A. our inept leadership style in Nigeria B. our subnormal system, and C. what the people of Nigeria are mostly made of)

I can careless about PDP, APC or Fayemi.

Can you imagine, a neophyte insulting the sensibility of 210,000 Ekiti Citizens who defiled Security challenges and expended their time to cast their ballot for their preferred candidate.

Somehow for these I-too-know

Mentally blindness is worse than being dead.
You can not get more than what you worth. Some of us worth a bag of rice, while others worth less than N5k.

Development, improvements and moving a country forward, all depend on the sensibility of the citizens. Good luck to Ekiti people and other Nigerians.

Your sense of reasoning, the dangerous implications and what you are driving at is unfortunately too sane and honest for many on NL to understand either because of their own political or tribal considerations.
It is only in Nigeria you see impeached public official contest and win elections

It is only in Nigeria you see the president appoint public officials under investigation for corruption

It is only in Nigeria you see corrupt tax payers funded security agents escort and protect corrupt officials under investigation by the same security agents.

This is abnormal in sane and civilized societies, but this is our normal in Nigeria, we didn't get to this sad and deplorable level for no reason.

In a sane society, an individual standing trial for corruption and murder would CLEAR HIS NAME FIRST before being allowed to run for public office, but then Nigeria isn't a sane society.

The people of Ekiti have spoken loud and clear and they have made their choice. I wish them and their governor-elect the best.

Nigerian politics is played on another level. One thing that I am happy with though is that free and fair elections are now more common than before.

op is so on point here, Nigerians deserve what they get . most of the idiots ranting here close to the poverty level and are still supporting bad governance . pls lay aside any party sentiments and think like concerned Nigerians for once. An impeached governor in any sane clime, clears himself first before contesting. That's the reason why some of these countries are doing better than us. Only in Nigeria will you appoint Bode George's wife as NDLEAHead without her having any law enforcement background Boss Boss . in mid exoised world, that position is given to a DRUZ CZAR who is experienced in that position.

APC and cronies should stop this insult on the sensibilities of Ekiti people. The people have made their choice. Deal with it or kill yourself. While others were busy soliciting for votes, you were busy whipping propaganda thinking propaganda wins elections. In any case is it even possible for an "impeached governor" (according to the op) to contest elections? Arrant nonsense
Re: Fayose's Victory: A Thousand Steps Backward And a Very Sad Day For All Nigerians by cocoduck: 8:20am On Jun 28, 2014
The only way out of this mess is true federalism, nowhere on this planet is unitary system mixed with federalist system, only in Nigeria, if we want unitary system then we should go for it 100% of 100% federalism (preferred) not mixing everything up because it causes confusion, then the confusion leads to every other problem, both election rigging corruption, insecurity etc, so for me I have concluded to myself that nothing bad in Nigeria will be of interest to me until we have true federalism in this country, all these you are seeing happening in Nigeria is as a result of the confusion the practice of unitary but wearing it a toga of federalism, confusion! anarchy! and general malaise.
