God bless the president and the federal republic of Nigeria. If I remember correctly, the last time we had something like this, was in the 70's/80's. Those days of groundnut pyramid. The era where cocoa was a major export for us. Nigeria shall rise again and we shall be great again. Boko haram can't stop us from moving forward.

How is this cheap rice farming amount to progress when he couldn't fix power or tackle corruption, unemployment and insecurity for good 6 yrs and some die-hards are busy celebrating failure.

If there was truly a "Rice Pyramid" the picture wouldve been proudly taken from above and he wouldnt be standing next to two bags of rice with the pic shot at ground level trying to create the impression that the product is way more than they really are.

Nigeria shall rise but definately not under jonathan, he lacks charisma to move this country forward.

Pdp has really make democracy look harsh to Nigerians because Nigeria had grown very badly since inception of democracy. We need change, anybody from any party but certainly not pdp/jonathan.

Ngwakwe:

Don't misunderstand me as I bear no grudge against you in whatever form or guise. Never before nor anytime in the future.

Now to your question.

One is about Nigerian government policy on agriculture and its significance on the economy while the Atiku Plastic Industry is a personal investment.

You have this misconception about government, politics and opposition. Government is not a person and Goodluck Jonathan is currently the President of Nigeria until his terms runs out or is removed legally through political process.

Moving this thread to agriculture section makes your baseless sermon illogical.

ochejoseph: Jonathan and the Rice Pyramid

When I look back I remember those miscreants who at a point represented all that was wrong in my area, who are today the proud owners of large rice farms , I lift up my hands to heaven to Bless the king that never sleeps, for the life of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Whose initiative has transformed those haggard looking Boys whose only vocation was violence into vibrant and economically buoyant rice farmers overnight.

Shared into groups of 20s these young rice farmers have transformed the wastelands of Nassarawa, Kebbi , Lokoja - Abuja Highway etc into viable rice farms .
Today some of them are proud owners of Brand new motorcycles and tricycles which they purchased from the profits they made from selling rice paddy!

The picture of the president beside these huge pyramids of rice is a clear testimony of the ''CAN DO'' spirit of the average Nigerian.

The fact that the policies of this administration has led to a huge reduction of our food imports from a total of N1.4 trillion (about $7 billion) in 2009 to N717 billion (about $4.35 billion) as at December 2013, a decline of $2.65 billion (N429bn) is a pointer to the fact that given the opportunity Nigerians have the ability and the capacity to feed the Nation !

GOD BLESS THE PRESIDENT

GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL

REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

How come there's no Dislike on nairaland....Let's see another president will come in future and turn Boko Haram to Bankers? Nigerians celebrating Mediocrity....Shame shame

That is because the store keepers think they won't sell because Nigerians don't patronize their own products, somebody is already complaining of stone being inside the rice he has not eaten. Nigeria cannot change unless we the citizens change. Besides, a country is not just a place with massive land, a country is a place with populations living therein with one love and an aim of making it peaceful and prosperous.

Yusluv77: What impact has it take on the common people or how much is now a cup of RICE in your area

You should find out from farmers in the rice-producing areas if their INCOME and standard of living has IMPROVED as a result of these good agricultural policies and initiatives of the Jonathan/Sambo administration.

I hope you will share your findings with us on NL wink
