Ubong took them to five star hotel at Uyo. After singing happy birthday to her. She blew off the candle light and cut the cake. They clapped for her.
Different kind of food were order but when Inem food was set on the table, everyone was staring at her in amazement. She had order for ottong and ekpang iwe.
Ekpang iwe is an Oron native food, prepared by grating cassava, fold it with plantian leaves which has been put in hot to soften the leaf and then cook it.
'Why are all of you staring at me? Have I committed any crime?' she said, eating her delicious food.
'What you are eating is disgusting.' Shalimar snapped.
'What do you know?' Inem reposte.
'I wish Rachel was here. She could make you hate eating that poo.
It will be very embarrassing should someone come in and see it.' Amy snapped.
'Allow her to eat what she likes. It's the best food so far.' Nsikan said.
'One man's food is another man's poison.' Daisy concluded.
All this while Ubong was watching her in amazement. He couldn't remember the last time he ate such food. It's was one of his favourite dish.
'Do you know how to cook it?' Ubong asked.
Inem nodded.
'One of this days, I will have you cook it for me.'
'What!' Amy was surprised. She had never seen Ubong eating such food before.
'Yes.' Ubong called the waitress and ordered for the same food.
'I think I will also eat it.' Nsikan said to the waitress.
They food was brought. Nsikan gave a morsel to Daisy.
Daisy shook her head in disapproval. Nsikan persuaded her and she took it. It tastes nice. She was tempted to take another one again.
Shalimar and Amy pretended as if they had not seen what was going on. Amy wished she could taste the food but she had already said it was poo. She couldn't afford them sneering at her.
After they had finished eating, they gulped down their juice and relaxed. Ubong give Inem a sip of his juice. She took it shyly.
'Do you know you are a wonderful woman?' Ubong said.
'Hmm...tell me more.' she smiled diffidently.
'I like your resplendent red gown.' He reached for her hand.
'Thank you.'
Amy's phone rang. She excused them. The thought of not going to be with the man she love flashed in.

The thought of not going to be with the man she love flashed in. She erased the thought off her mind. After all, she was the one who advised Ubong to go into a relationship and forget about her. After recieving the call, she came back and sat down.
'I'm happy for you brother. I'm happy to see you move on with your life. Am looking forward to see your wedding invitation.' Amy said soberly.
'What!' Ubong gawped at her, withdrawing his hand from Inem.
Does she think he could forget about her just like that, like nothing happen between them?
The vacuum she has created in him, no woman can filled it.
'Hmm...' Amy nodded. 'you are ageing, brother. I need to carry your baby.'
'Am just twenty seven. What is...'
'Stop arguing. She is right.' Nsikan cut in.

Shalimar wasn't interested in their marriage gibberished, since she wasn't in any serious relationship. And she doesn't believe any sensible man could marry her due to her waywardness.
'Am more prepared than you.' He reached for Daisy's hand.
Daisy stared at him trying to imagine what he was up to.

Everyone was surprised except Amy. She already knew how deep their love was. She wished she was human and Ubong was the one proposing to her on her birthday but if wishes were horse.... She winked at Daisy.
'Yes I will marry you. I will be the mother of your progeny. I will love you like the air that I breath.' She spoke with a breathtaking sobered.
'Oh my God! You have make me the happiest man on earth.' He put an argent ring on her index finger and hugged her.
Everyone clapped and cheered.
Daisy rubbed her breathtakingly expensive silver. Just what she likes. She preferred argent to gold.
'Am one step ahead of you mr man. What do you have to say?' Nsikan shook the pure heaven vino.
'Is not over yet.' Ubong shook his hand. He knew better than to argue. Marriage isn't something you just jumped into simply because your friend has done so. He was waiting patiently for God's will.
Everyone guffawed and cheered as the cork came out of the bottle with a loud pop.

Date has been fixed for Daisy's wedding. Everything was ready. She urged Amy to be her bride maid.
'You know I would have love to be by your side on that special day but am sorry, I can't.' Amy said sadly.
'I understand.' Daisy patted her back.
'You can choose Shally or Inem.' Amy added.
'Hmm... Shalimar is in the women in suit group. Hey sweet, will you be my bride maid?' she asked Inem.
'Who will be your suitor's best man?' Inem asked sheepishly.
'So, if UBA is not his best man, you won't be her bride maid?' Shalimar snapped.
It was obvious that Inem was in love with Ubong but does the later felt the same for her? The question remained unanswered. The future will tell.
Inem ignored her.
'Ubong Abasi.' Daisy replied.
'Ok, I will be by your side.' She chuckled.
It will will be fantastic being by his side. In the future, the celebrant will also do the same for them. She smiled dreamily.
'Is that not Alahji Hassan honking his car? Amy looked through the window blind. 'I thought you said you have ward off all this men?'
'Yes, I will break up with him today.' Shalimar said as she picked her reticule.

Hassan driver drove to a deserted village.
Where are you taking me to?' Shalimar cried out.

Shalimar was addled and perspiring severely. Before she could screamed,Hassan thug covered her face with napkin which was kept for that purpose. She did not struggled for too long.
She was blackout.
The car stopped in a bush path. The thug carried Shalimar on his shoulder as they walked into a narrow road.
After few minutes, they reached a thatch house decorated with skulls.
Hassan went in backwardly. After what seem like forever, he came out.

A fair bearded, old man with grey hair stood up and started incantation.
'place her here.' Said the high priest.
Hasaan laid her on a pentagram drawn on the ground.
The high priest started chanting. He stopped abruptly and screamed.
'Take her out of here.'
'What?' Hassan was scared. He had never seen the high priest being so scary.
'I say take her out of here. She is incomplete. Too many sorrows lodge in her heart. She has been hurt by the people she trusted. Her tears flow like a river. She can't produce money for you instead she will haunt you to the grave. Take her out of her before she render my power useless.' He shrieked.
Hassan carried Shalimar away immediately.

It was already four days since Shalimar was abducted but nobody seem to noticed her absent because they were used to her travelling for a week or two with no specific location. And the worst of it was, she always switched off her phone whenever she visited Alahji Hassan and so they, her friends believed she was okay where ever she was.

Inem had a date with Ubong. She wasn't having class that day. She entered her hatch back car and drove to sunshine island. She glimpsed Ubong sitting in a gazebo, waiting for her patiently. She walked behind him and covered his face with her palm.
'Happiness, joy, treasure.' Ubong patted her cheek.
'How do you know is me?' Inem gave him a peck.
'You have a splendid scent.'
'Thank you.' she sat down.
Ubong wondered how he was going to start such conversation. He knew how painful Inem could felt but he was doing the right thing, after all they were not dating. So he thought.
Inem was feeling uncomfortable as silent governed them. She could not picture why she was there. She decided to summon courage and asked him.
'Please why are we here? You are making me uncomfortable.'
'Inem I...' He paused, not knowing whether to continue or buried his feeling for Amy. He choosed the previous. 'what could you like to take?'
'Nothing.' she was battling with her mind, anxious to know what Ubong wanted to say. For once, she wished she was a listener in legend of the conqueror. She could be able to read his mind without him telling her.
'I know what am going to say will be painful but is for your own good.'
'Drop the bomb. Am prepared.' Tears welled up her eyes.
'I'm in love with someone else.' Ubong said after a short silence.
'Is that all.' Tears dripped down freely.
Ubong tried to wipe the tears off her face but she rebuffed.

Daisy visited Nsikan at Oron. They prattled jovially about their family and how happy they would be when they are finally called husband and wife.

'Really!' Daisy was surprised.
'Yes, she said we should get marry as soon as possible as before someone takes you away from me.'
'Nobody can take me away from you. We are destined to be together, for better for worst.'
They both chuckled.
'I like the way you smile.' Nsikan caressed her cheek.
'Thank you.' Daisy tittered exposing her white set of tooth.
'And your lips.' He caressed her lips. 'Have been wondering about how it taste.'
Goose bump filled Daisy's body. She felt a suddened surged of ardour.
'Should I taste it.'
Daisy nodded.
He kissed her. Romantic sensation filled their bodies. Their lips were interlocked when suddenly, someone barge in uninvitedly..
