I don't know if you will get to read this. But my name is Kemi. I am about to buy a 2009 VW Tourage. I really like the car but reviews have been no and most people says no and also that we do not have good mechanic handling it in Nigeria. What's your take on this?. Please advice me

The car is good if u listen to their cry when needed. Always perform a scan before u carry it to mechanics. I'm driving a Passat & I fix my car by my self except some of d hardwares ..but d rest ,I fix it ..I don't joke with my scan tools.. Vw prefer a scan first before anything. Pls enjoy ur ride when u buy it k. Don't panic .. Toyota na women car because of balance on roads mostly high way but u see Volkswagen, I salute them for that balance stuff.

Good afternoon bro. Pls which scanner would you recommend i get for my VW passat CC 2012
Hi Elbedso!

Glad you've made some headway, and we've at least pin pointed the cause of your Golf IV's issues.

Yes, filling the combined brake and clutch hydraulic fluid reservoir will gradually get drawn through the clutch slave cylinder, restoring clutch operation, and of course, allowing gears to be engaged with the engine running.

However, your mechanic needs to bleed the clutch AND the brakes. It's not sufficient just to let gravity push the fluid round. If the reservoir has run low, allowing air to get drawn into the brake and clutch circuits, the air will NOT self-purge. Bleeding is required.

I'm also concerned with the fluid level dropping. How low was it? Because a leak in the clutch master or slave cylinder is still a possibility. Both systems are sealed, the level will only drop marginally to compensate for brake pad wear. In most cases, the hygroscopic nature of hydraulic fluid (the tendency of the fluid to absorb moisture from the atmosphere) will actually cause the level to rise, or at least remain stable.

You mechanic needs to check for fluid leaks.

I don't know if the issue was with the last user's maintenance, it's been from one issue to the other really. I got it earlier this year and I barely used it for 3weeks b4 experiencing different issues. Since then, it's been visits to the mech
