You've been very helpful here,God bless you... What is the level of standard of living in ondo state as a whole,be it town or villa..is it affordable for the average man?

Its unfortunate that I hv bn knckd down by malaria..somehow, my mum wants me to entr ondo on monday then stay in a hotel or guest house fr dt nyt..can I gt a reasonable hotel in ikare instead of goin to Akure str8?

Gd p.m pals. I cnt rilly generalize d standard f living here in Ondo state. Bu judge frm whr I am presently its quite kul. Cost f livin isn't dt bad n nt high. A single room costs 1k for a month, while a self con costs 3k per month. I don't knw abou a flat. Wen u go to d mkt n smile, u will v ur basket f fud full, lol! D highest amount f Bike fare wt in d town is #50. I wud nt advise anyone cumin frm d east to alight @akure. Ders buses headin straight to Ikare akoko frm osha. Aldoo I dnt knw any guest haus here in Ikare, bu u cud go to d NYSC LG's secretariat n report, perhaps dey wud permit u stay @ d copper's lodge to pass d nyt der. Dey v a luvly copper's lodge. If dey wudnt permit u, den dey wud definitely refer u to a guest haus. Takia

dis might b late though. Onitsha to akure is long journey, abt 4hrs(and costly as well), thereafter u wi still hv to board anoda vehicle frm akure-ikare, which is abt an hour, u can simply board onitsha to ikare(where d camp is located) directly, very cheap and less than 3hrs. Anywhere frm east/SS(bar PH) to onitsha then to ikare.

There's no need going to Akure first. Akure to Ikare is actually quite far.

From anywhere in the East, pick a bus to Benin. Then take a bike to Ondo park in Ugbowo. From there, you'll get a straight bus to Ikare Akoko. You'll meet a lot of your colleagues at the park in Ugbowo

Do not influence ur posting cos u might be dissappointed. Obey the rules and regulations while in camp.. As for PPA.. Doctors receive 90k while vet docs receive 95k per month from the state. Now, if u are posted to a public school, u won't receive any amount from the state cos the governor doesn't pay. Buh if u are posted to a local government secretariat, u would be paid. Also if u are posted to a private school, the private school would pay u. I'm serving in Ose local government secretariat. Assistant CDs coordinator. Batch A 2014. Lemme knw if u have any questions. Wish u a blissful stay in camp.

Don't go to akure if u r cumin frm d east. Dnt lobby ur ppa, bu if u wud, den I wud advise u lobby Akoko North East (ikare) its one f d BEST place to serve in Ondo state.

chidiswt: Hi pals! M a serving corps member in Ondo state. 2014 Batch A to b precise. This may aid those looking for direction to the camp located at Ikare-Akoko. From Abuja u can board a lagos bus (#3000)cos they'd have to pass through a junction called akungba and dts where you ought to alight, and from der u pick a cab to the camp #200. From the east, just head to onisha oshogbo park opposite ogba ogu, board a bus or siena going to ikare(#2000) can beg d driver to take u to d camp if you guys are much, if he refused, my dear bike is just #30 or #40 to the camp. For those coming from lagos I don't really know much but wud advise you board a bus going to abuja and alight at akungba junction just like those coming from abuja. I'm sure you guys are good to go!!!

I'm a trader in Ikare , those coming from Lagos should go to OJOTA near TOTAL free station their park is located there . there are three ondo parks there and two TOTAL FREE STATION , but only one is going to Ikare direct,

I'm a Batch A corps member posted to ondo town. Welcome to the sunshine state. I'm from imo state. Ondo is a nice place to serve.
Catholics in the house do not be carried away by activities in the camp. Remember to go for masses in camp and associate wit other catholics. At the end of the camp, each and evryone of u wil b assigned a place of primary assignment (PPA). U r meant to report to ur PPA b4 goin hom to prepare for ur service year proper. There are Nigerian Association of Catholic Corps members(NACC) family houses in akure, ondo town and other places. NACC wil provide buses dat wil convey u to the nearest family house wher u wil b accommodated and fed for days, up to 2weeks, while u report to the secretariat and PPA for documentation.

For those of u who wil b fortunate enuf to b posted to ondo town, u r welcom. We, corpers and the mother parishes here, are organizing a welcom party for u in ondo town family house.

Instead of lodgin in a hotel and wastin ur allowee moni, we r providin succour for u here as u do ur documentation dat wil tek a couple of days. Cos u wil open anoder file, open a bank account and report to ur PPA b4 u tek a 2wk or 3wk leave to go and prepare for work.
