I actually have two courses in mind Environmental Engineering and Occupational health and safety. Frm research I found out dat no sch in canny offers msc in occupational health and safety they only offer certificate courses and diplomas.and I want to do msc. I am actually a 2.1 graduate of Environmental Technology speacialising in pollution control. And most Msc Environmental Engineering seem to be more like Civil and Environmental Engrin. So I am wonderin if I will find it difficult to cope with cos of d civil tin. I would also need ur advise on which schs Environmental Engrin to go for n which province has better job prospects for an Environmental Engr. Need I say the best cheap deal.cos its not easy with me am currently not workin. Tanx

ChriGo, Siga and other gurus pls say something

Haustraliah: I can understand the reasons of my refusal.
firstly,I submitted my application late.
secondly, application treated for fall are always much than all other intake, they are very competitive than any other intake.
Thirdly, am an HND holder, I shouldn't have applied for an ordinary Diploma program,it should be at least a PGD.
so I know how to tackle my short comings.
My absence on this thread was due to my profession exam am writing,I will be through by next week.

In fact, if possible... I would advise that he stays off job during school terms. Academics in Canada is not beans. Their citizens dey study wella and not push overs in classrooms. it's best to focus on studies and come out with good grades. I believe jobs should be left for school holidays. The good thing is students make lots of money during school breaks as students jobs are easy to find.

Thanks so much bro but you know how it is. A nigga will also need to make some money on the side. Making academics your full priority

Please i just discovered university of alberta is currently restructuring their M.Engr programme, hence they are not offering M.Engr for civil engr. I also checked my 2nd choice, university of waterloo and sadly M.Engr is reserved for canadian citizens/PR in that school. I no get power to write thesis and the research work that an Msc or research degree requires. Reason being, i plan on working there so as to complete the money for tution for my 2nd year, my guess is i would not be able to give the full concentration a research base degree requires.

Please if you know any good school that offers M.Eng(Non thesis or taught degree) Civil engr for a non citizen . please let me know.

Its possible in my area. you just need about 3-4 certicates that won't cost you up to a thousand dollars..Only in summer though, which falls within school break anyway.

Hmmm, what kind of certificates bro? And what area are you situated?

Bro, to be candid. I haven't heard about all these apart from First aid. How do you come about them? Any exams or something and how long do they take to obtain them? Where can you work with them and we 'll appreciate if you can shed more light on the rest. Thanks so much bro

Yes I even contacted UBC and and they advised me to consider a diploma cos in BCIT stating dat they UBC av limited slots n dat govt have cut down on fundin and there r very few sources of funding for non Canadian students.

Hence the course is very competitive in UBC and dat BCIT has a larger capacity and intake.

I can very well cope with environmental Engineering its my line. I just happen to have 2 choices and need to choose one. I really need to knw d prospects. Thanks. I don't want to apply to only one sch who knws which will work out. Which of d two have better prospects as a non indigene. And which provinces or schs would u suggest for d Env Engr. Am not goin for d BCIT cos I'd rather still try d UBC. Tho am thinkin I should stick to Env Engr dats y I want to knw d prospects

Pally, the agric thing is worth it if you ask me.After you don settle for canny, you can always come down to naija, do stuff, network and make money from both ends. You can even go into consulting, just that you will have to go far with your academics, maybe a diploma in agric, trasnfer to the b.sc afterwards, masters, phd (smile).
nothing like a made up mind and when there's a will, there's always a way!
Much appreciated sir. I'm seriously planning on what you just adviced.
