Statistics have shown that literacy level in these states are higher than that of their counterparts. Although its a survey which is not error free, the states are: 1. Lagos. 2. Imo. 3. Rivers. 4. Abia 5. Akwa Ibom....Do you agree? Source: www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/uploads/latestRelease/de4f17834ea0c57a9e1f440d029aebaa460863d0.pdf

I've chatted with people from most of these states and I can categorically tell y'all that this list ain't correct. Someone from one of these areas (SE) once told me he “seed” my missed call, instead of “saw”. FYI, it's almost all of them!

Girl friend I also thought of Abuja but later remembered that Abuja is populated by people from different states. The main Abuja people which I don't know what they are called can't actually compete at all in English. I didn't mean to make f**l of you.

forget.
SE is one region in Nigeria where language barrier is not a problem, many Yoruba corpers have confirmed that.
many hausas n Yorubas can't even understand pidgin, not to talk of English. even teenagers.
In SS, pidgin prevents language barrier.

It's their type that would say "I doesn't like it". And by the way, Izu couldn't even pronounce a word in English when he arrived here from Orlu.

ionsman: Rivers state?? Abeg make una behave jare.....

I think Rivers should be number one. Reasons, we have multi lingua and result to using english as a means of communication. Can that be said of a state secretariate of lets say Kano, Ibadan or Enugu as a sampling states of North, West and East?

Even our remote villages understand and speak good english
