Everyone including you know this truth. People travel from various places to Owerri every weekend. 90% events meant for the Eastern zone is held in Owerri year in year out. December we all bypass Uyo and struggle through the Itu/Calabar road neglected by Jonathan to visit Calabar for holidays even though Uyo is closer.

Finally beyond the over-advertized roads and one or 2 hotels, 90% of roads in Uyo are unmotorable and the houses are slums with rusty roofs.

having lived in both states for over one year each accumulatively, I can say no part of the whole cross river state is qualified to be rated as a "city". As a Nigerian that has travelled to neighboring west african nations the only place you would be proud to of as a Nigerian is lagos, cross river no join at all.

Most of these like the specialist hospital and Library are either non functional nor accessible by the average person .
