this is a mistake many ppl use to make. being a political scientist does make u a politician. their is politics as an art and academic feild of study.. u are right that if pol scientist assume pol office things will b better especially in the formulation of foreign policy. but our system of government give room for anybody to participate in politics which streanlined the chances of pol scientist to contest for electoral post. also note that political science is a mother of int'l relations, public admin and local govt studies. A political scientist can do there work.

Lol! Even a Law graduate would tell you, he/she don't wanna work in a Law firm.

Well, Masscomm might not be better than Law(I think I over-exaggerated) because even a Biochemistry graduate with a good command of english language and nice accent can also work as a newscaster.
