How Many Refineries Has PDP Built In 15 Years? by egift(m): 12:53am On Oct 15, 2014
Can someone help us with the full list of all the 100% Completed and Functional Refineries that the PDP led administration built in the last 15years.

NOTE:
We are not interest on any License Issuance that is smiling on Paper. If the government owns it and it is functional, let us know. And all so forget "Will...", "To...", "About to...", "Sign Agreement to...", "Turnaround maintenance...", etc.

Nothing.
Everything is negative.
PDP only signs agreement to build refineries.
they have been signing since 1880

- It was under the tenure of Buhari that the Nigerian National Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources were reorganized to form the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and he also was NNPC's first Chairman. A job he performed without blemish.

- Buhari spearheaded the construction of 20 oil depots throughout the country, a project involving over 3200 kilometers of pipelines.

- Under his leadership both Warri and Kaduna Refineries were built.

- He drew up the blueprint for the country’s petro-chemical and liquefied natural gas programmes all without even a hint of scandal.

Can someone tell us the number of Refineries PDP has constructed in Nigeria - in their 15 years of being in Power.

No it is not for the gods. It is a question for every Nigerian to ask and be clear on its answer. How can we export crude, refine it and still import the finished product for local use. Many politicians have Filling Stations and Refineries outside, they steal and siphon/bunker our crude and still sell it back to us.

Mathematically,
If, Buhari that stayed for 20 months built Two Refineries (One per 10 months)
And, PDP has been in power for 15yrs (180 months)
Then, PDP should have built 18 Refineries (1 per 10 months).
But, PDP have start and completed 0 (zero) Refineries.
Therefore, I put it to you that PDP have Failed Nigeria

stop living in the past.
Government has no business with business.
Crude oil refining is a business which should be left to those with a profit motive.
Government provide an enabling environment for business minded people and step out of the way.
Anything else will be creating millions of entitlement guzzling civil servants who create no value.

So he is the one that came up with the clannish idea of pumping crude oil from porthacourt to kaduna so that north will be happy?

No wonder?!!! The guy will never change!

You should applaud ingenuity when you see one. Which is easier?
1. - To Pipeline crude to Kaduna, refine it, and use it as a sling-ball to distribute kerosene, PMS, Gas, coal-tar, and other by-products in the upper regions on Nigeria.

OR

2. - To refine in PH and use truck to transport all those volume throughout the other sections of Nigeria. The truck will be consuming most of the products. You need 1000s of Tankers to sustain supply. And when the volume of Supply fall, the laws of Demand and Supply will kick in.

Which is best?

So you think its easy to maintain a refinery?
What is the quantity of diesel consumed by a single truck or train compared to the quantity its transporting.
Be more rational in your thinking and you will realize you are not making sense. Transporting crude products to North by either trains or trucks is far cheaper than running a fresh refinery up there.

I have been wondering who came up with that stu.pid idea until you just mentioned it today and I realized it is not stu.pid but bigoted.

The guy is a bigot, simple.

Even your fellow TANiods will be very ashamed of you for insisting that it is more sustainable, stable and cost effective using Tankers to transport Trillions of Litres of crude products in the last 31 years + many more years to come.

With the level of your cognitive contraptions, one can easily deduce how badly PDP have damaged our Education Sector, Human Capital and Systematically destroyed the psyche of an average TANiod. grin grin grin

Na so your sense reach?
If we leave you now, you go think say you dey make sense.
PH and Warri are already the slingballs for distributing refined products.
If you want to create another hub, why should it be kaduna? which is at one extreme.
then you still have to truck the refined products to the industrial centers where they are consumed.

Stop lying!
the second PH refinery and the Warri refinery were commissioned by His Excellency Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
These refineries were conceptualized by Gowon. Actual construction started under Muritala/Obasanjo about 1975.

in your wet dreams you think a refinery can be conceptualized, designed and build in 20 months?
No wonder you want us to elect a mugu as president.

if you have taken an economics class, you know you refine materials close to source.
If you transport raw materials, you are transporting unwanted/unuseful by-products.
The useless materials you transport adds to the cost of the business. And leads to unnecessary expenditure.
Nigeria built a 24" line from the Niger Delta to Kaduna because they needed that to transport crude, sand, other impurities and produced water.
Do not forget all the furnishing you need to make the material flow from sea level up the the plateau highlands.
it is like you are making water flow upwards!
You would need pump stations and additives to make the heavy crude flow.
If they were to transport petrol alone, they would only need maybe a 6" pipeline. This would also flow more easily.
You get more efficient use of scarce resources if you only transport the refined and useful material.
The decision to site a refinery in Kaduna cannot be justified by any fiscal means.
infacti, it is a air-brained decision!

- First remember he is the one who built the Warri Refinery.
- It is not a sling-ball. If you transport the Volume by Truck, it is not cost-effect. If you move it by Pipline, you will need multiple Pipelines (You cannot use a Gas pipe to move Kerosene. Also Thicker by-products will not move through the pipeline.

And Nigerians had to spend days queuing for "essential commodities" like sugar, salt, rice, beans, etc.
Many people died in the queues!
if you are not old enough ask your parents.
Perhaps you are old enough to have experienced fuel scarcity and how people have to sleep for days at gas stations to get fuel for their cars?
Now imagine if you havde to queue like that to buy garri!
on empty stomach!
you no go die?
that is what Buhari brought on hapless Nigerians.
aqll those your fake economic indices did not translate into any standard of living
that was why it was easy for the druggist ibb to chase Buhari out of dodan barracks with the slogan of better life for all Nigerians.

No one is saying Government should dip its hand into those biz.
Is the government an automobile manufacturer to have introduced policy that would encourage foreign auto makers to come set up plants in Nigeria ?
All a serious Government need do is give all refinery license owner an ultimatum to build those refineries and put them into operation or loose its license.
The truth of the matter is the sole objective of our current Nigeria Government is the protection of Nigeria"s creme de la creme"s interest and not the interest of the ordinary Nigerian on the street.
