[b][size=14pt] Ugbade: Brazil’s Pride At Stake Vs U-23 Eagles [/size]  Former Nigeria international Nduka Ugbade has predicted a tough game for the U-23 Eagles against Brazil in Thursday's international friendly game. Both Nigeria and Brazil will be using the friendly match to prepare for this summer's Olympic Games in Rio. In a chat with Completesportsnigeria.com, Ugbade however pointed out that what should be imperative for the U-23 Eagles is not the result but what will be learnt in the game. "It's going to be extremely difficult. It could be described as a noncompetitive match in competition," Ugbade tolf Completesportsnigeria.com. "But it's competitive because it is Brazil and Nigeria. If Nigeria defeat Brazil, there would be a lot of stories to be told but for reasons of honour and dignity, I don't think the Brazilians would want to lose to Nigeria at home. "We will see a Brazilian side with mental speed, German character, South American ball intelligence. So it is going to be extremely difficult for Nigeria. But you can't rule out the fact that we can get something out of the game, we all remember how we defeate them in 1996. "In the number of occasions I have faced Brazil, we have managed to control the game but they've managed tactically to win and score a lot of goals against us. Not losing the game is not the most important thing but what we are able to garner from the match." [size=14pt] Brazil vs Nigeria U23 friendly 11pm today [/size]  Nigeria U23 striker Taiwo Awoniyi A Rio Olympics warm-up between hosts Brazil and Nigeria will kick off at 11pm Nigerian time today. Both teams are gearing up for the Rio Olympics in August. Nigeria’s Dream Team VI, under temporary charge of Fatai Amoo, are expected to cap several new players after an experimental 20-man squad was named for the friendly. As many as 10 players on the squad have yet to play for the Nigeria at this level. They include Agboyi Ovboka, Sodiq Popoola, Godswill Ekpolo, Nathan Oduwa and Theophilus Solomon. Brazil will also host South Africa in another friendly on March 27. Nathaniel Oseni had a chance to score the game-winner in the closing minutes of the contest after he was fed by Ward but his effort narrowly missed target. They don't have to... Let's see what these lots do when up against the likes of Gabriel Jesus (#10 AMF @ palmeiras-- was at last u-20 World cup and scored one and set up two -I think- against us), Andreas perreira (man utd), Felipe anderson (SS lazio), Wallace and even Fabinho who will all be available for Brazil tonight. It's an experimental but talented Nigerian squad. I'm not expecting much but I hope to see "resolve and dare" in their play tonight. I wanna know those worthy enough to move into the next phase of our U-23 olympic preps when our "real-deal" U-23 squad roll in for the middle and final stages of preparation. tbaba1234: |
