1. How do one go about visa application, especially the US.
2. Is there any money involved?
3. Then,i see advert on every newspaper by agents who r specialised in d VISA processing.
4. Do i need to av paid an agent over 200k and go for d interview and to later get my visa rejected.(God forbid)
5. Hw would i be notified for an interview? Through mail or what? And do i need to go for d interview on d date specified in d letter or e-mail?
Pls,i need an urgent answer. Thanks

That's partially untrue. But I only agree with you based on previous VO's comment for past denial on particular applicant.

Yes they do background checks I can confirm that. They check your financial status (Embassy Enquiries) and confirm it with financial institutions. For people who cook up financial details or especially when the account do not belong to you. Just don't waste your time, you would be denied.

Truth be told... US visa is one of the easiest visa to get. If you have a good reason to go to us, your visa application will be granted. One pointer I noticed is that they prefer certain category of people to enter ie people with ties in US that already av proper jobs, professionals etc. I applied for a visa first time this year and had a very interesting conversation (didn't seem like an interview) with the VO, and I was immediately given my visa. My travel reason was simply vacation, told him I didn't know anyone in us and I haven't decided the tour package or hoteli will be staying. It was a funny experience cos I heard many funny reasons other people gave and in my mind I already knew dey will be denied

Chief that's because you got a job and your company must have done a letter of introduction. So they know you have a reliable source of income and you wont run away. Hence, hotel and tour package mean nothing to them because if you are serious, you will definitely sort that out.

I just pray that one day, Americans (and the world) will be struggling to get visa into our dear country. What u called funny might not be really funny to some people. I just hope that things get better here in Naija so the number of applicants will be reduced. God bless America too, no easy to build a strong country.

I was there a week back around 6:30am. We all waited patiently for the first interview and hoped that if his/her visa was granted the goodluck would rub off on the rest of us....for where?

It was a lady and her interview took place in booth 7. She claimed that she was going to attend a seminar sponsored by a company she distributes for here in Nigeria. After the VO found her not eligible for the visa, he was about handing over her documents when the lady said, "Oga, please hold on to it, my interview can't be over". Then VO repeated that "you are ineligible", while he was saying this, the lady keep on explaining how many clients she has, how much she makes... vo repeated himself, Lady also repeated her self. At that point everyone laughed so hard. The lady left a few seconds later.

My own unusual experience.

Same day as above. While waiting in line outside, I discovered that I was feeling some fresh air around my toes, on both feet. When I looked down, the sole of my shoe was coming off from the front. Horror!!! I've not even entered the Consulate yet. Why me? With each step I took, more of the sole was coming off, got to a point I couldn't lift my feet to walk, I dragged them, I was already in the interviewing area at this point.

I kept on praying for this little incidence not to cause any visa denial. It didn't. After it was approved, I majestically walked out with half of the sole of my shoe gone. When people waiting outside saw me, there laughed, and I thought within myself......"dey laugh me, make you no go face your own interview"
Wow you must hold Phd in lying or comedy bro. The two soles comin out at the same time? Did you use the shoes to play soccer while you were on the queue cos I believed u wouldn't wear anyhow shoes to that kind of environment in the 1st place. I salute una!!!

Not sure how this will work.
When you apply for a visa, you do not upload your financial statement, so how will they do the background check on a document they don't have?

Maybe for an immigrant visa where the process is a long-drawn-out process.

he can, why not. Transit onboard. The craft is carrying US and Canadian passengers and must stop in the US and only citizens and those with transit gets off.

That is not how Delta works. Atlanta is their hub, and they do not go direct to Canada from Lagos. You MUST , I emphasize the MUST, disembark clear immigration, and do a plane switch. You cannot clear immigration without a visa. This is my job, I know how it works. He's a liar

I remember how they denied a girl that won visa lottery. I used to think it was automatic ! She came from Ibadan and she actually looked like someone selling vegetables in the market. She came with a guy she claimed was her husband or boyfriend . it was obvious she was not educated but she said she had HND and she is an Economics teacher or so. The VO just asked her to define economy of a nation na there wahala started o !!!! The guy she brought sef looked like an arrangee !! I was shocked when the VO said you are not qualified for the visa..she didn't even show any reaction, they both left !

There was this other old ibo woman o, when they gave her visa she just bursted out in a loud Ibo praise song !!! We all started laughing !!!

There was this fine young lady next to me, she won visa lottery, when she saw that they denied the other " HND" holder, she said she was just going to say she had OND. I asked why she isn't with any arranged husband, she said her boyfriend left her few days before she discovered she won a visa lottery! I wished my brother was around me, we for do wedding for both of them ceremony for interview room! Lol!

All the old women were given visas and women with babies.

Ok , you will all want to ask about mine, it was a family based IV status so there was no stress,

Visa lottery has minimum education requirements. They want contributors to society.

The cost depends on the State you intend to visit, the hospital, Doctor, form of delivery i.e varginal birth or CS. This could range from $3000 to $10,000.00 or more!

Advice please... I was denied US visa in 2008; someone actually filled the application form for me. I havent re-applied since then but intend to apply again next year. Though, i av been to few other countries recently. My problem is i cant remember many of the application form contents back then (initial application;2008). Will this affect my next application? Thanks and God bless

thats why some airlines belong to alliances.
with Delta Airlines a US transit Visa to Canada is not necessary once you have a Canadian Visa (ESTA requirements have to be met), otherwise you would'nt even be checked in the flight in the first place(Delta pour vous).
