Ok. I went with First Aluminum metcoppo and it's sold for N1,300 per square meter.
I didn't spend up to 980k again, the carpenter had designated his co-carpenter to take the measurement of the entire roofing sheets required and he tried to play a fast one on me by adding excessive sqm so that he can get the money from the aluminum company after I make the payment - it's happening everywhere. Thanks to all the knowledge garnered from this forum, I rejected the estimate they gave me. I took tape and did the measurement and estimates myself and that just saved me more than #280k that that would have gone into the pockets of the crooked carpenter.
Thanks

Well done on the good work sir, please if you don't mind, could you please tell me how many sq meter your roof is as I'm working on my 4 bedroom all ensuing project and just asked someone to take measurement for my aluminium and I'm getting quoted 441.6 sq meter which I feel is a bit too excessive.

I am not within proximity and unable to supervise myself so it's a bit difficult for me to see what's going on.

I have attached the latest picture with the woodwork done

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mine is 484.2sqm and this is because it's a big house of 5 bedroom and a high kingpost for the roof

Be weary of those that will measure and give excessive sqm, they usually get the money from the aluminium company after you pay. If I wasn't careful myself, I'd have lost about #300,000 just like that

Thanks, thanks. I was at PGN Aba and y'all seemed very professional which I like, but the extra #50 drove me straight to your neighbours that were professional too and open to a tiny bargaining.

Tino, I'm a lover of quality and exquisite furniture and finishes I see on your thread, however this is a budget project in the village and that may lead me to ridiculous bargaining with you when it comes to pricing and you won't like that sir.

Could you please share the specifics of who this roof came out looking like a million dollars like these?

Which specific brand of roof material did you use?

Could you also share or send me (via NL email) the name of the artisans on the roof project? This is by far the best roof I've seen on this site bar none.

Thanks.

Back in the day, Nigeria never used to build such steep and voluminous roof and ceiling areas... Why are people now building every thing like that? It requires more roofing material for such roofing area and surely cost more than the lower profile roofs that used to be the standard..

Did building standard officials mandate such design? I know its good for shedding snow, but not so needed to shed rain.. Maybe it reduces heat build up in the ceiling area? But most of those dont seem to have ventilation to vent the hot air anyway...
Maybe people just like the big look of it to make the house look bigger? shocked

I feel you Bro. That is one question without a logical answer. The only ones I have heared is that..."Its the Landlord's taste". So be it

Both of you are absolutely spot on.

It makes absolutely no sense. Now I can see if they are including living space in the roofs as in lofts.

What is actually missing and is useful are eaves. I would love to have a 5 foot eaves in my house. They serve as natural protection from sun.

Thanks for your million dollars compliments... I went for one of the best made-in-Nigeria roofing sheets - first aluminium. The carpenters can do this same job anywhere!

Took them about 5 days, they worked half day on some of these 5 days because of heavy rains.

It rained heavily today, so no work on the site.

DPC is 4 coaches; it's a dry flat land...

Hello Chief:

Apologies if you already answered this but I did not see it if you did.

1) What is the perimeter of the house itself?

2) How much did it cost you in total to do the foundation?

Thanks.
