They aren't Far from the truth.

A church where the general Overseer is the richest Pastor in the world with the poor man's offering and have done nothing tangible to give back to the Poor.

The schools he established with the common man's sweat isn't affordable for the poor.

any ministry that gives you an impression you must give something to get something is SCAM!!!!! The scriptures says God loves a cheerful giver, and do not underestimate the 20 naira people contribute. they are ripping people off.
YOU SHOULD CALL ELIJAH A SCAMMER FOR ASKING FOR THE LAST MEAL OF THE WIDOW OR WHEN JESUS REQUESTED FOR A DONKEY. ... OR WHEN GOD HIMSELF REQUESTED FOR ISAAC.

There is no doubt that the source of this report, whoever started this is either influenced by demons or occultic. They are afraid and envious of the continous dominion of the winners Chapel International, God's established church., and as such has taken to the media to either rubbish the name of Bishop Oyedepo or The Winners Chapel.
Well You haters can continue to hate and be frustrated and watch as the church covers new ground and take new territories. Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft I Samuel 15:23.The Church remains totally against witchcraftry, and will totally devastate it wherever it is encountered as shown by the exploit of Gods Chosen Servant Bishop David Oyedepo.

Lmao...you actually think you're more "Christian" than a country that started Protestantism, which Pentecostalism branched out from. The same country that wrote the King James Version of the Bible, no?

Keep fooling yourself...these folks just see African pulpit pimps for the frauds they're. They know most of them, including the sheeple like you, don't understand the origins and the purpose of the religion. However, they will never let you flip it, and use it as a tool to steal from, or abuse folks out here. That is an unacceptable behaviour. Keep ya religion and chasing witchcraft (medieval tripe) in Africa.

They have already given you lot enough space to keep lying to yourselves in the naija community. What else do you want? Want to spread ya tentacles to schools no one asked for, or start competing with the Church of England?

he deserves more than he got, I wish he was beaten, just imagine d levo of corruption in churches, not even in a political setting. some of his members are suffering, he cajoled and scammed 'em of their money, not only that, he's planning to establish a sch in the UK, (wetin do Nigeria, abi land don finish for here) this is how God will surely disgrace them all, one by one. I hate such pastors with passion

NB: i'm not castigating nobody.
I SEE YOU DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MAN OF GOD BUT HAS CHOSEN TO FOLLOW THE PATH OF REGULAR CRITICS. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY SCHOOLS THE MINISTRY HAS IN NIGERIA. ARE THE POOR IN THAT CHURCH COMPLANING. WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING LIKE YOU CAN TURN THE POOR TO MILLIONAIRES. IF A POOR MAN COMES TO YOU FOR ASSISTANCE WILL YOU GIVE HIM CONSIDERING THE FACT YOU BARELY KNOW HIM. WHY DONT YU LEAVE THE POOR TO PRACTICE WHATEVER RELIGION THEY WISH. I don't think it's harsh, bearing in mind how countries in the west treat people differently from us........ I'm not saying they are saints but they do more than us to protect the vulnerable; children, disabled and old people....

He slapped a vulnerable girl which in our psyche is okay but not in the west's psyche...

You see all sorts of child abuse in Nigeria perpetuated by teachers and parents in the name of discipline... What pains me the most is the thought of bringing a little boy/girl from village to come and be used as a slave in the city...

@ OP, I don't think we should call it ''harsh'' because beliefs in witches is still prevalent in Nigeria and the very vulnerable in Nigeria are usually accused of being witches....

Would you still call it harsh if your sister/ or any female relative was slapped in front of tens of thousands?

She is young girl, poor and vulnerable.... Therefore, she fits into the group that are usually abused in our country..... Go slap Jonathan's daughter and see whether Mopol's bullet wont ricochet off ur skull...

How I wish we empathize more as a people!

This is the most sensible comment I've seen so far.
No one is even saying anything about d girl that was abused in front of thousands, instead they are all throwing verbal missiles and baring their ignorance. Smh for we blacks.

Even d topic of d thread is very misleading and d gullible brain-washed ones are here defending d pastor and raining abuses on BBC. The OP just used a catchy headline (purposely or out of ignorance) to attract readers and those who cannot read btw d lines are exposing their level of dumbfuckery.

U gullible nigerians need to understand that d mentality of d average westerner is far different from that of a nigerian. U don't just physically abuse a vulnerable girl in front of thousands. They don't take that kinda bullshittt. Westerners are far more intellectually enlightened than many mentally enslaved brainless nigerians who cannot think for themselves. The UK frowns on a church that espouses belief in witchcraft as one of its basic tenets; not just mere belief but carrying out actions that are contrary to reason, human conscience and d legal system.

A lot of d inhumane treatment we mete out to people all in d name of "witchcraft suspicion" can only happen here because of our low mentality.

Here in Nigeria (and other low-mentality african countries), people can be brutalized, beaten to death or even burnt alive because some imbeciles think they're witches/wizards. Wtf!
Here in Nigeria, u'll see some kids being starved or detained in churches, whipped and harassed until they confess to being witches. If a family brings a child (to be used as househelps of course) from d village to town and anything dares go wrong in d family, aha! Na winch oooooo!
If an old woman looks at u in funny way, she's a witch. Here in naija, people will construct kiosks and call them churches. In one street alone u can see up to 20 churches all blaring unbearable noise from their giant speakers and when u complain of d noise, u're a witch or agent of satan. In a compound where u're not d only tenant, u'll host noisy casting n binding prayer sessions and if another tenant dares complain, na winch. Naija is a lawless entity with little regards for d social/physical/psychological welfare of its citizens and that's why all these nonsense can happen with no one giving a fuqq.

A western pastor/priest/man of God cannot try that nonsense that Oyedepo did. He did that because he has d mentality of a typical Nigerian. Some of u who support anything done by anyone who brands himself as a man of God need to realize that its d westerners that brought this same Christianity to us and they are not all immoral/irreligious atheists.

every amount is wonderful but church members dont make true pastors rich. Do you know that his offering to any church he is invited to is about N5m. God makes men rich and i still repeat offering only makes hungry pastors rich. Do you know that widows and the poor have funds sharef to them every month this is i know from a member who attends the church and her husband is dead. Books are sold but the money he gives back to the church. Dont stay outside read your own meaning into scriptures. The poor woman gave 10pence because thats all she had and someone who gives his last N100k is the same as the woman because that all they have too. The amount is not the issue but the heart o the giver
just if u know d meaning of Christianity.... Christianity is not just Showing love to church members, it's mainly about evangelism, And how do u evangelise, by Showing d Love of God To Unbelievers. Am Sure u know Heaven would be much more happy if churches can donate money to Bokoharam Affected Areas....

I feel more that he want the school for his son because the UK govermand had also the hand over his church money in UK.

With this school he could help his rich friend to bring money every month legaly to UK this rich pastors or so called God of man are also the problem that corruption is at this high level in nigeria.

He is a business man and not more and no one of this rich pastors is a real man of God they are all man made God of man and one is better to keep his business than the other.

This little girl she is still a child need no slap from him but his love but love is a word that nigerian pastors didnot know.
