In all honesty, the treatment of that lady simply highlights the barbarism and lack of civilisation of the Europeans at that time. The woman was mocked for her physical appearance and yet was molested by several men for years (the same ones who 'mocked' her beauty) until she died of a sexually transmitted disease.
