HOUR OF PRAYER - DAILY - 7 OCTOBER 2025 Daily Prayer for October 7, 2025 Theme: Delighting in the Lord Topic: The Secret to Fulfilled Desires Many chase happiness in possessions, success, or people - but true satisfaction is found only in God. Psalm 37:4 declares: “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (NIV) To “delight in the Lord” means to find joy, rest, and pleasure in His presence. When your greatest joy is in God, your desires align with His will - and in that alignment, He fulfills them. God is not against your desires; He wants to shape them. When He becomes your first love, your prayers gain power because your heart beats with His. Today, shift your focus from what you want to Who you want. As you delight in Him, He will bring the right desires to pass in His perfect time. Main Scripture: Psalm 37:4 (NIV): “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for being my greatest joy and satisfaction. 2. Thank You for hearing the silent desires of my heart. 3. Thank You for teaching me to find pleasure in Your presence. 4. Thank You for every fulfilled promise in my life. 5. Thank You that my deepest desires are safe in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for seeking joy in temporary things. 2. Forgive me for delighting in success more than in You. 3. I repent for worrying about my desires instead of trusting You. 4. Wash me with the Blood of Jesus and renew my love for Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: My Delight Is in the Lord 1. Father, I choose to delight in You today. 2. You are my joy, my peace, and my treasure. 3. Shape my desires to align with Your will. 4. Grant me the desires that honor You and fulfill my purpose. 5. Help me to find pleasure in Your Word, worship, and fellowship. 6. I declare that my heart delights in the Lord, and He is granting me my heart’s desires. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Lord, teach my family and friends to find joy in You. 2. Heal hearts that are restless or chasing empty satisfaction. 3. Let them experience the peace that comes from intimacy with You. 4. Align their desires with Your purpose and bring fulfillment to their lives. 5. Fill Your Church with people who delight more in Your presence than in the world’s approval. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Personal Petition: Desires Aligned with God 1. Lord, You know my heart and every hidden desire. 2. Let my dreams reflect Your will for my life. 3. Remove every selfish ambition and replace it with divine passion. 4. Help me to seek Your kingdom first, trusting You for everything else. 5. Let my life bring joy to Your heart as I delight in You daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen! Powerful Prayer Points for Deeper Engagement 1. Psalm 37:4 – Lord, teach me to delight in You above all things. 2. Matthew 6:33 – Help me seek first Your kingdom and righteousness. 3. Psalm 16:11 – Let me find fullness of joy in Your presence. 4. Philippians 2:13 – Work in me to will and to act according to Your good purpose. Declarations and Affirmations 1. My delight is in the Lord, not in the world. 2. God is aligning my desires with His perfect plan. 3. I am content, fulfilled, and joyful in His presence. 4. The Lord is granting me the desires of my heart. 5. My joy in God attracts divine favor and fulfillment. Verse for Meditation Psalm 37:4 (NIV): “Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Moment of Teaching Delight is a posture of love and trust. When you delight in God, you no longer chase blessings - they follow you. The more you enjoy His presence, the more your desires reflect His will, and the faster they manifest. Delight in Him first, and everything else will find its rightful place. Faith Activity 1. Spend 10 minutes today in worship, focusing on who God is, not what you need. 2. Write down your top three desires and pray, “Lord, align them with Your will.” 3. Do one act of gratitude that expresses your joy in God - share your faith, give, or encourage someone. Word of Exhortation God delights in those who delight in Him. As you make Him your greatest joy, He will make your desires a testimony. Say it boldly: “I delight in the Lord! My joy is in Him, and He is fulfilling the desires of my heart according to His perfect will!”

HOUR OF PRAYER - DAILY - 6 OCTOBER 2025 Daily Prayer for October 6, 2025 Theme: The Power of Resurrection and Life Topic: The One Who Brings Life Out of Death When Martha mourned the death of her brother Lazarus, she saw only loss. But Jesus came to reveal that death is not the end when He is present. John 11:25 says: “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” (NIV) This was not merely a statement of comfort - it was a declaration of divine authority. Jesus does not just bring resurrection; He is resurrection itself. His presence reverses decay, restores hope, and breathes life into what seems finished. Whatever looks dead in your life - dreams, health, relationships, or purpose - can live again because Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, is with you. Main Scripture: John 11:25 (NIV): “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life. 2. Thank You that death and defeat have no power over me. 3. Thank You for the gift of eternal life through Christ. 4. Thank You for reviving things in my life that seemed lost. 5. Thank You that Your power is greater than every form of death. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for times I gave up hope too soon. 2. Forgive me for focusing on the grave instead of the resurrection. 3. I repent of every doubt and fear that limited my faith. 4. Wash me in the Blood of Jesus and renew my confidence in Your power to restore. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: Resurrection Power in My Life 1. Father, I believe that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life. 2. Let His resurrection power flow into every dead area of my life. 3. Revive my passion for You, my dreams, and my divine purpose. 4. Let what was buried come back to life by the power of the Holy Spirit. 5. Turn my mourning into dancing and my sorrow into joy. 6. I declare that life conquers death, light overcomes darkness, and victory replaces defeat in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Faith in the Resurrection and the Life turns hopelessness into testimony. Every believer carries within them the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Faith Activity 1. Speak life over every “dead” area in your life - say aloud: “Live again, in Jesus’ name!” 2. Write down one area where you’ve lost faith and begin to declare God’s promises over it daily. 3. Share this verse (John 11:25) with someone who needs encouragement and hope. Word of Exhortation Nothing is too dead for God to restore. HOUR OF PRAYER DAILY - 5 OCTOBER 2025 Daily Prayer for October 5, 2025 Theme: The Spirit of Unity and the Bond of Peace Topic: Guarding the Unity of the Spirit Unity is not automatic - it must be protected, cultivated, and guarded. Ephesians 4:3 declares: “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” (NIV) The unity of the Spirit is a divine harmony produced by the Holy Spirit among believers. It is not merely agreement on opinions, but alignment under the Lordship of Christ. Where unity is preserved, the Holy Spirit flows freely, and God’s presence dwells powerfully. Division, strife, and bitterness quench the Spirit’s move. But when peace reigns among God’s people, blessings flow (Psalm 133:1–3). Today, God calls us to be peacemakers - to keep relationships healthy, churches united, and hearts free from offense. Peace is not weakness; it is power under control. Main Scripture Ephesians 4:3 (NIV): “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for making me part of the body of Christ. 2. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who unites believers in love. 3. Thank You for peace that surpasses all understanding. 4. Thank You for reconciling me to Yourself through Jesus Christ. 5. Thank You for the grace to walk in harmony with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for every word, thought, or action that caused division. 2. Forgive me for holding on to offense, bitterness, or pride. 3. I repent for times I valued my opinion more than unity. 4. Wash me with the Blood of Jesus and fill me afresh with Your love and humility. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: I Walk in the Bond of Peace 1. Father, make me an instrument of Your peace. 2. Help me to live in harmony with others and value unity above pride. 3. Let the Holy Spirit rule in my heart and guide my relationships. 4. Give me wisdom to speak words that build, not break. 5. Let Your peace reign in my family, my workplace, and my church. 6. I declare that I am a peacemaker, a bridge-builder, and a carrier of unity. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Lord, bless Your Church with the spirit of unity and peace. 2. Heal every division, misunderstanding, and strife among believers. 3. Raise leaders who walk in humility, love, and reconciliation. 4. Let peace flow through families, communities, and nations. 5. May the world see the love of Christ through our unity. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Personal Petition: The Grace to Keep Unity 1. Lord, give me strength to make every effort for peace. 2. Help me to forgive quickly and love sincerely. 3. Let my heart be gentle, my words gracious, and my spirit humble. 4. Ephesians 4:3 – Lord, help me keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 2. Psalm 133:1 – Let Your blessing flow where brethren dwell together in unity. 3. Colossians 3:14–15 – Let the peace of Christ rule in my heart and bind me in perfect harmony. 4. John 17:21 – Lord, make us one, as You and the Father are one. Declarations and Affirmations 1. I walk in unity, not division. 2. The peace of Christ governs my heart and relationships. 3. I am a vessel of reconciliation and harmony. 4. Wherever I go, I bring peace, not strife. 5. God’s presence flows through unity in my life and community. Verse for Meditation: Ephesians 4:3 (NIV): “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Moment of Teaching Unity is not uniformity - it is harmony in diversity, centered on Christ. The devil fears a united church because unity multiplies power. Guarding peace means choosing love over offense, prayer over gossip, and humility over pride. Faith Activity 1. Reach out to someone you’ve had tension with and speak peace. 2. Pray for your local church to experience unity and revival. 3. Write “Peace starts with me” somewhere visible as a daily reminder. Word of Exhortation Where peace rules, God reigns. Be the one who keeps the bond of unity and invites the presence of God wherever you go. Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland… the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.” God is still in the business of doing new and unusual things in the lives of His people. It is a call to intercede for peace, stability, and the fulfillment of God’s promises concerning His people. But beyond the physical city, it also reminds us to pray for the peace of God’s people everywhere and to long for the coming of the New Jerusalem, where eternal peace will reign. HOUR OF PRAYER - DAILY - 30 SEPTEMBER 2025 Daily Prayer for September 30, 2025 Theme: Righteous Judgment, Not Outward Appearance Topic: Seeing as God Sees In a world that often celebrates appearances, Jesus calls us to something higher. John 7:24 says: “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” (NIV) This is a call to discernment. Human eyes can be deceived by outward beauty, position, or performance. But God looks deeper - into the heart and into truth. When we judge by appearances, we risk error, favoritism, and missing God’s will. When we walk in discernment, guided by His Spirit and Word, we see rightly and act justly. Today, ask God to give you eyes to see beyond the surface, to discern truth, and to judge righteously in every matter of life. Main Scripture: John 7:24 (NIV): “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for being the God who sees the heart. 2. Thank You for guiding me with wisdom beyond appearances. 3. Thank You for protecting me from deception and error. 4. Thank You for the Spirit of truth that leads me rightly. 5. Thank You because Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for times I judged people and situations by outward appearances. 2. Forgive me for favouritism, prejudice, or hasty decisions. 3. I repent of ignoring Your Spirit’s leading. 4. Wash me with the Blood of Jesus and purify my heart to see as You see. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: Grant Me Righteous Judgment 1. Father, open my eyes to see beyond the surface. 2. Give me discernment to judge rightly in every matter. 3. Let my thoughts, words, and actions align with Your truth. 4. Deliver me from deception, error, and manipulation. 5. Help me to treat others with fairness, love, and justice. 6. I declare that I will no longer be swayed by appearances, but I will walk in the wisdom of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Lord, give my family and friends discernment in their choices and relationships. 2. Deliver them from making decisions based on appearances or human wisdom. 3. Fill them with the Spirit of truth to walk in righteousness. 4. Help them see people and situations as You see them. 5. Let Your Church operate in wisdom, not favouritism or carnality. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Personal Petition: Eyes to See as God Sees 1. Lord, I ask for spiritual eyes to see truth clearly. 2. Remove every veil of deception from my life. 3. Teach me to walk in discernment, righteousness, and justice. 4. Give me wisdom to make decisions that honour You. 5. Let my heart reflect Your truth in every judgment I make. In Jesus’ name, Amen! Powerful Prayer Points for Deeper Engagement 1. John 7:24 – Lord, help me to judge righteously, not by appearances. 2. 1 Samuel 16:7 – Father, give me eyes to see the heart as You do. 3. James 1:5 – Grant me wisdom generously in every decision. 4. Hebrews 5:14 – Train my senses to discern good and evil. Declarations and Affirmations 1. I will not judge by appearances, but by God’s truth. 2. My decisions are guided by divine wisdom. 3. I walk in discernment and spiritual clarity. 4. Deception has no power over me. 5. I see as God sees, and I act with righteousness. Verse for Meditation John 7:24 (NIV): “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” Moment of Teaching God does not see as man sees. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). Appearances can deceive, but the Spirit of God brings clarity. Every believer must grow in discernment to live wisely, avoid error, and walk in justice. Faith Activity 1. Before making a decision today, pause and ask God: “Lord, what is Your perspective?” 2. Spend time in prayer asking for the Spirit of discernment to sharpen your vision. 3. Encourage someone tempted to judge by appearances with John 7:24. Word of Exhortation Your life will not be led by sight, but by the Spirit. God is giving you eyes to see beyond the surface and wisdom to judge rightly. Say it boldly: “I will not judge by appearances. I walk in discernment, guided by the Spirit of God, in the name of Jesus!”

HOUR OF PRAYER - DAILY- 29 SEPTEMBER 2025 Daily Prayer for September 29, 2025 Theme: From Servanthood to Sonship Topic: Growing Into Full Inheritance The Bible teaches us that spiritual maturity determines access to inheritance. Galatians 4:1 says: “What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.” (NIV) This means that immaturity can keep a rightful heir living below his inheritance. A son may legally own everything, but if he does not grow, he cannot enjoy it. In the same way, God has given us great promises in Christ, but spiritual immaturity - ignorance, disobedience, or lack of discipline - can keep us living like slaves instead of sons. Today, God is calling you to grow into maturity, to walk in sonship, and to claim the inheritance already secured for you through Christ. Main Scripture: Galatians 4:1 (NIV): “What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for making me an heir of Your kingdom through Christ. 2. Thank You for the inheritance of salvation, peace, and victory. 3. Thank You for the Spirit of adoption that calls You “Abba, Father.” 4. Thank You because I am no longer a slave, but a child of God. 5. Thank You that my inheritance in Christ is eternal and secure. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for living below my inheritance in You. 2. Forgive me for immaturity, disobedience, and spiritual negligence. 3. I repent for every time I thought and acted like a slave instead of a son. 4. Wash me with the Blood of Jesus and renew my mind by Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: I Walk in My Full Inheritance as a Son 1. Father, I refuse to remain immature in the Spirit. 2. Help me to grow in wisdom, faith, and obedience. 3. Let me walk as a true son, not as a slave. 4. I declare that every blessing You have prepared for me shall manifest in my life. 5. I embrace the fullness of my inheritance in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Lord, bring my family and friends into the full knowledge of their inheritance in Christ. 2. Deliver them from ignorance, fear, and spiritual immaturity. 3. Help them to grow into strong sons and daughters of the Kingdom. 4. Let none of them live below the destiny You have ordained for them. 5. Establish them in their rightful inheritance of peace, joy, and victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Personal Petition: Maturity for My Inheritance 1. Lord, I ask for grace to grow in the Spirit daily. 2. Break every cycle of delay caused by immaturity in my life. 3. Remove every limitation that keeps me from enjoying my inheritance. 4. Open my eyes to know what belongs to me in Christ. 5. Let me rise as a son who possesses the estate of the Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen! Powerful Prayer Points for Deeper Engagement 1. Galatians 4:1 – Lord, deliver me from spiritual immaturity and help me walk in inheritance. 2. Romans 8:17 – Father, let me live as a joint-heir with Christ. 3. Hebrews 5:14 – Lord, train me to discern and grow into maturity. 4. Ephesians 1:18 – Open the eyes of my heart to know the riches of my inheritance in You. Declarations and Affirmations 1. I am a son, not a slave. 2. I walk in my inheritance through Christ. 3. I grow daily in wisdom, maturity, and faith. 4. No blessing ordained for me shall be delayed. 5. I am a joint-heir with Christ in all things. Verse for Meditation: Galatians 4:1 (NIV): “As long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.” Moment of Teaching Growth determines access. Immaturity may delay inheritance, but maturity releases it. God is calling His children to rise above spiritual infancy and step into sonship. The estate of heaven already belongs to you - walk in it by faith, wisdom, and obedience. Faith Activity 1. Identify one area where you are living below God’s promises and pray for growth there. 2. Spend 15 minutes today declaring: “I am a son, not a slave. I walk in my inheritance.” 3. Encourage someone by reminding them they are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. Word of Exhortation You are not a slave - you are a son. Your inheritance is secure. Step into maturity and claim it. Say it boldly: “I am a son of God, an heir of His kingdom. I refuse to live as a slave. My inheritance in Christ is mine today!”

HOUR OF PRAYER - DAILY - 28 SEPTEMBER 2025 Daily Prayer for September 28, 2025 Theme: Trusting God’s Higher Ways Topic: His Thoughts Are Greater Than Ours Life often confronts us with mysteries - unanswered prayers, unexpected delays, unexplainable turns. At such moments, we may wonder if God sees or understands. Isaiah 55:8–9 reminds us: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (NIV) God’s wisdom surpasses human logic. His timing, though sometimes confusing, is always perfect. His plans, though mysterious, are always good. When we surrender our limited understanding to God’s infinite wisdom, we find rest, peace, and assurance that He is working everything together for our good. Today, choose to trust His higher ways - even when they don’t make sense. Main Scripture: Isaiah 55:8–9 (NIV): “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Prayers of Thanksgiving 1. Father, thank You for being the all-wise and all-knowing God. 2. Thank You that Your ways are always higher and better than mine. 3. Thank You for ordering my steps according to Your perfect plan. 4. Thank You for working all things together for my good. 5. Thank You for peace that comes from trusting Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Reflection and Confession 1. Lord, forgive me for doubting Your ways when I didn’t understand. 2. Forgive me for leaning too much on my own wisdom. 3. I repent of every complaint I made in impatience. 4. Wash me with the blood of Jesus and renew my trust in Your sovereignty. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer of the Day: I Trust in God’s Higher Ways 1. Father, today I surrender my thoughts and plans to You. 2. Even when I don’t understand, I will trust Your wisdom. 3. Guide me to walk in alignment with Your will. 4. Lift my eyes beyond my limited perspective to see Your higher plan. 5. Grant me peace in waiting and faith in Your timing. 6. I declare that my life is ordered by Your wisdom and secured in Your plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayers of Intercession 1. Lord, strengthen my family and loved ones to trust You in seasons of uncertainty. 2. Deliver them from fear, anxiety, and impatience. 3. Let them rest in the assurance that Your thoughts toward them are good. 4. Reveal to them glimpses of Your higher plan, so they may hold fast to hope. 5. Teach us all to walk by faith, not by sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Personal Petition: Resting in His Wisdom 1. Lord, I acknowledge that my thoughts are limited. 2. Replace my confusion with clarity and my fear with faith. 3. Help me to trust even when I cannot trace Your hand. 4. Let me see beyond temporary setbacks into eternal purposes. 5. Align my decisions with Your higher wisdom and keep me in the center of Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen! Powerful Prayer Points for Deeper Engagement 1. Isaiah 55:8–9 – Lord, align my ways with Your higher ways. 2. Proverbs 3:5–6 – Help me trust in You with all my heart and not lean on my understanding. 3. Jeremiah 29:11 – Father, let Your good plans of hope and future manifest in my life. 4. Romans 8:28 – Lord, work all things together for my good according to Your purpose. Declarations and Affirmations 1. God’s ways are higher and better than mine. 2. I trust His plan, even when I don’t understand. 3. My life is ordered by divine wisdom. 4. Nothing surprises God - He is in control of my journey. 5. I walk in faith, not in human understanding. Verse for Meditation: Isaiah 55:8–9 (NIV): “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Moment of Teaching When life seems confusing, remember that you are not seeing the full picture. God’s thoughts stretch beyond time, circumstances, and human reasoning. His higher ways guarantee that His plans will prevail. Your responsibility is not to figure everything out - but to trust Him fully. Faith Activity 1. Write down situations in your life that don’t make sense right now. 2. Place them before God in prayer and declare: “Lord, I trust Your higher ways.” 2. Memorize Isaiah 55:8–9 and repeat it whenever doubt arises. 3. Encourage someone today who is struggling with delay or disappointment by sharing this verse. Word of Exhortation You may not understand the “why,” but you can trust the “Who.” God’s thoughts toward you are good, His ways are perfect, and His plan will never fail. Say it boldly: “Father, I trust Your higher ways. My life is in Your hands, and Your plan for me will prevail!”

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER'S MANUAL LESSON TWENTY-FOUR SUNDAY, 11TH FEBRUARY 2018 TOPIC: DEALING WITH ADDICTIONS OPENING PRAYERS: Father, deliver those who are under one form of addiction or the other. Save me from addiction. BIBLE PASSAGE PROV.31:2-7 2: What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows? 3: Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings. 4: It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: 5: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted. 6: Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. 7: Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. MEMORY VERSE "Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD" Isaiah 52:11 LESSON INTRODUCTION Addiction is a compulsive tendency developed over a period of continuous and repeated actions or exposures to a certain substance. It can result in loss of willpower and self-esteem, loss of or shift in focus, social and emotional disconnect, poverty, death, etc. TEXT REVIEW: PRO. 31:2-7 WARNING FOR THE KINGS AND PRINCES The Bible passage literarily was directed at a king Lemuel by her mother. Pro 31:1. However the advice should go beyond the few people who are found in palaces of earthly structures; it should be embraced by all other persons who were referred to as Kings and Priest in Rev. 5:10 "and hast made us unto our God Kings and priest". What are the advice and why? i. Do not dissipate your virility on women ( promiscuous women) because they will shipwreck such ruler/kings. Pro.31:3 ii. Do not drink strong drinks (mixed wine and alcohol which is capable of making a person lose sense or sleep away) because such king will pervert justice and judge wrongly under influence. Pro. 31:4-5 iii. Strong drink will lead a person to peril(ready to perish). Pro. 31:6 iv. Strong drinks makes person feel high. Feeling of being on top of situations when in actual fact the situations are pressing heavily upon the fellow. When he/she is out of the influence, he/her sorrow will return. It is therefore a temporary relief/sedative and not a curative. Pro.31:7 The scripture warns believers to run from mixed wine (mixed substance) that is deceptive in appearance but hurts like poison of serpent. Pro. 23:30-32. All kings/princess in the kingdom should heed the warning. All Levities and teachers of the word of God should NOT drink wine or strong drink and minister under such influence. The consequences of such recklessness is DEATH. Teachers/Priests/Pastors/Ministers/ must be holy and avoid unholy things. Lev.10:8-11 TYPES OF ADDICTIONS QUESTION What are the effects of the following substances/addictions on the consumers? Cocaine, opioids-heroine, amplictamines, benzoic, diazepam’s, alchohol, cigarette, tobacco, marijuana, nicotine, caffeine-coffee, coke and cola. QUESTION what do you understand by position addiction? ANSWERS It is addiction that is associated with power, influence or affluence. The addiction enjoys his power, influence or affluence at the expense of others. QUESTION Do we have some examples of power addicts in the Bible? ANSWER Yes. We have King Saul, 1Samuel19:1;8-10; and King Hezekiah- Isaiah39:1-8 CLASS ACTIVITY 1 Give any two example each of substance addicts, behavioural addict and position or power addict from the Bible. OVERCOMING ADDICTIONS i. Teachers should allow students to mention ways of overcoming addiction. This could be based on their knowledge or experience. ii. Teacher should explain the following guidelines to overcome addiction: a. Take a stand. You must first of all acknowledge that addiction is an affliction and you are already caught up in its web. Then, you must be willing to break free from it bondage while acknowledging that you cannot help yourself. Ps51:1-4 b. Seek help. Jas.5:13-16. You must open up to God. Prov.3:4-5; 1Pet5:7 and to people who can be of help in breaking the evil habit. Surrender yourself for proper screening and therapies pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy and spiritual therapy. c. RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER’S MANUAL LESSON 51: ” THE REALITY OF HELL?” DATE: AUGUST 20, 2017 1. OPENING I. Bible Passage: Luke 16: 19-31 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. II . Memory Verse: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” – Psalm 9:17 I. Lesson Introduction: Is there an everlasting hell? The Bible declares in very certain arms that there is. There are 162 texts in the New Testament alone that speak of the doom that awaits the unrepentant sinners. The Lord Himself uttered 70 of these. Hell is a reality, an awful act to be realised. It seems that the angels that sinned with Satan are even now in hell waiting for judgment (2Peter 2:4). The Bible makes it abundantly clear that the wicked and anyone that finally rejects Christ will be turned into hell. Psalm 9: 17. TEACHER DIARY I. LESSON AIM: To study about the reality of hell. II. No. In Luke 16, both the rich man and Lazarus died and went to the grave, as both were buried. However, their souls went to different places. One was in a place where he was comforted, the other in a place of torment and the two were separated by a great gulf to prevent travel back and forth. iv. A lot of guys out there often have this feeling of "maybe I don't know how to pray". Some think they aren't getting answers to their prayers because of their naivety in the place of prayer. Are you looking for the right words, right atmosphere, right .... to pray? or Do you think you don't pray enough? These 5 pieces of advice adapted from Adam Weber's book "Talking with God" will assist you. Give them a try. #1 Just let the words come out! Say it as it comes to your mind. God understands even your unspoken thoughts. He wants to hear you talk to Him directly, especially in your own words. Don't always wait for the prayer points from the prayer band leader or pastor or bulletin. Use your own words, backed with any relevant scripture you know. You don't have to be a perfect prayer specialist before praying. Stop depending on Prayer Warriors or Prayer Contractors. #2 When something reminds you of God, pray! Anytime the thought of prayer or of God comes to your mind, pray. Anytime, anywhere a prayer point comes up in your mind, pray it as it comes. You don't have to wait to refine or modernize it, pray it raw. Should a thought of someone come to your mind, pray for that fellow too. #3 Write prayer notes! Learn to jot down your prayer points, especially major issues that you trust God for intervention. It helps to build your prayer life too as well as help you to appreciate God when the answer comes. Your prayer notes can be turned to testimony notes. i am a living example of this. Several of my prayer points of yesterday are my praise points of today. My prayer points of today are my testimonies of tomorrow. Yours shall not be an exception. #4 If you tell someone you’re going to pray for them, do it! Pray for everyone that is connected to you, especially if you know their names. Mention their names in the place of prayer. This is particularly necessary when you have told someone that you'll pray for him or her. I often keep lists of people and their prayer points, using it to pray for them. there have been testimonies. You too can do this. It will help your prayer life a lot. #5 Don’t lie to God! God knows the state of our hearts always. Let's be truthful to Him. The matter is between you and God. Admit and confess your weaknesses to Him. He is able to help you. It is hypocrisy of the highest order when you pretend before God. I wish you a better and more result oriented prayer life.
