Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Political Monopoly: The Change That Comes With Change. by 1UNEC: 8:47pm On Dec 12, 2014
Billyonaire:
Buhari reminds me of coup, that's the reason he should not be considered. Buhari is 72 years old for Christ's sake. Buhari's accent isnt helping matters. Buhari's Sharia statements makes me scared that he will be another Islamic crusader.
We should think nationhood before religion and remember that in a democratic system, the president has no power to "islamize" or "christianize" Nigeria as the case may be without ratification by the parliament. Everyone has to be considered at this point. We just need to get things right.

Business / Nairaland Forum: The Challenges And Prospects Of The Biggest Forum In Nigeria. by 1UNEC: 8:41am On Jul 07, 2014
Nairaland forum no doubt has grown since inception to become the favorite website of many Nigerians at home and abroad. Nairaland.com is the largest online forum focusing on Nigeria and Nigerians. It covers general topics ranging from politics to entertainment to sports and so on. It is the most visited indigenous website in Nigeria. It trails just behind the big weights like google, facebook and yahoo on Nigeria web space.

Prospects of Nairaland Forum:

The future of Nairaland forum appears bright with good management. Being a 2.0 website that generates its contents from users, the room for growth is too large. Its user base currently stands at above 1 million. Some users have multiple accounts.

It has seen some improvements over time. Although some of the improvements took so long to come. The transition from the use of simple machine forum script to the use of a custom made script, the discontinuation of google adsense and the integration of custom site ad management system are the major changes.

The primary source of revenue for Nairaland forum is advertisement. This revenue will continue to grow with more people visiting and registering.

An API for the website, advertising the website online, improving the quality of discussions using professional moderators could signal a new face for Nairaland forum and expose it to more partners/investors.

Challenges Facing Nairaland Forum:

The increasing population of registered users and visitors has brought both goodness and hardship to the website. The population explosion came with great server demand and increase in spam/scam posts. The admin and moderators have fought to keep spammers, hackers and scam artists out of the site. Whether they will win this battle or not is not yet known but we all hope they win.

The site becomes inaccessible from time to time and sometimes for hours/days. This causes disaffection for members who can’t wait to see it back online. Huge traffic and some other matters might have contributed to this and the operators must not relent in finding a lasting solution to the problems of the best forum in Nigeria.

Men making life difficult for other men. This report has to be investigated and if found to be true, appropriate sanction should be issued. Why raise their hopes only to dash it.
Romance / Re: Abortion: Now A Proof Of Love? by 1UNEC: 11:19am On Jan 03, 2014
Rhetorical question I must say. We all know the good and the bad but choose to act to please ourselves. There is a level of selfishness in every man/woman.
