CrimeMan Raped By Three South African Women For Three Days by 2000viewsNg(op): 5:12pm On May 30, 2017
A gang of women kidnapped a man and raped him for three days while force-feeding him energy drinks, police said.
The victim, 23, was found traumatised and exhausted after being dumped in a field semi-naked after his 72 hour ordeal, according to cops in South Africa.
Detectives investigating the case said the 23-year-old man had got into a 15-seater communal taxi with three young women.
Police spokesperson Captain Colette Wellback said:
“En-route into town the driver changed direction and the young man was told to get in the front.
“One of the women then allegedly injected him with an unknown substance and he passed out and woke up in an unfamiliar room in a single bed.
The female suspects then allegedly forced the man to drink energy drinks before taking turns raping him numerous times ever.
The victim, from Nellmapius in Pretoria, South Africa, was dumped in a field in Benoni where he flagged down passing motorists who called police.
The police said he lost count of the number of times he was raped.
Last year three women were arrested for luring a man to a house in Durban, South Africa, and raping him after locking the door and beating

PoliticsArise Oh Compatriot. Happy Democracy Day! by 2000viewsNg(op): 10:05am On May 29, 2017
The Muhammadu Buhari government commemorates its second anniversary. Mr. Buhari will not be available to read a speech, as he is on a hospital bed in the United Kingdom. May he recover to return to the land of his ancestors.
I expect the flood of positive testimonies by government officials, which began last week, to reach a crescendo. But I think Acting President Yemi Osinbajo understands the sensitivity of the moment.
There are some people who are congratulating the government over its “achievements” so far. I am not one of them.
In principle, every government has an issue on which it enjoys some success. Such success may be modest, or it may be spectacular. Every assessment deserves to be done in relation to the scale of the challenge, but also in terms of the vision of itself by the incoming government.
Coming into power, the Buhari government was almost a success. It marketed a vision of an unprecedented onslaught on corruption and insecurity in Nigeria as key issues, but also as they impacted on the economy.
By undertaking this high road, President Buhari affirmed, he would make Nigerians trust the government again.
With two years gone and two to go, the government deserves commendation for its prosecution of the war against Boko Haram. The militants are far from defeated, but no longer do they have Nigeria in the stranglehold they did under the previous administration.
In other words, the government should stop saying it has defeated Boko Haram, and concentrate on trying to accomplish that.
Even then, Boko Haram does not constitute the insecurity in Nigeria. The country is still largely insecure, large swathes of it being under the menace of herdsmen, kidnappers, armed robbers, crooked security personnel, and poor infrastructure. Every day, there are reports of policemen and soldiers visiting violence on unarmed citizens under one pretext or another. As the obituaries multiply, nobody who is rich enough travels by road any longer.
Two years in, the character of the Buhari government is that while it preached transparency and accountability on its way in, it is hardly an accountable government.
The President and his officials do not speak to the nation regularly, and government spokesmen pronounce principally denials.
The government, despite its promises, scoffs at the rule of law, and does not obey the courts.
Think about it: early in 2016, a court ordered the government to publish the nation’s loot recovery record and to create a website for that information.
The Buhari government has refused to do so. But as he attempted a highlight reel of its achievements last week, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, announced that the government has in its two years recovered N59.9 billion and $666,676.
To begin with, for a country as ethically-decayed as Nigeria, it is insulting for the government to announce it has only recovered such small sums. It is even more insulting to publish those sums without identifying the people from whom the money was recovered.
By choosing this path, not only has the government confirmed its lack of transparency, it has become part of the corruption conundrum.
The government also last week listed among its achievements the signing of memoranda of understanding with “no fewer than six countries” to track and recover looted Nigerian funds.
An MOU is not an achievement. What an MOU yields may be, but there was nothing in last week’s report about any MOUs helping to achieve anything in the past two years.
I also found it quite disingenuous for the government to have listed as part of its loot recovery the N50bn paid as a fine by MTN, and some limited sums recovered from private residences.
This is similar to the government announcement that it is seeking the repatriation of hundreds of politically-exposed Nigerians who committed “heinous crimes” in Nigeria. Most of them are thought to have been treasury-looters, but the government revealed no pertinent information.
That all sounds good, but it is another promissory note, another carrot dangled in front of Nigerians starving for justice and redress from those who have thrown them into despair and trampled them into poverty.
The problem is that Nigerians continue to receive these phantom meal vouchers, but never the meals. They continue to be told to spread out receptacles in front of their doors for the manna to fall from heaven, but the manna never does.
In other words, the Buhari government lacks the very credibility it promised. It does not take two years to ask other countries to expatriate a Nigerian national. We have extradition treaties with many countries; where are the requests we made two years ago, or last year? How many have been repatriated?
What is more telling is that some of the looters are in Nigeria, living well, and untroubled by nobody. Some are said to have been kind enough to refund a slice of what they stole, but the Buhari government seems content to let them enjoy their peace and their wealth. They enjoy police protection and small private armies of their own to ensure nobody trifles with them. Not exactly the change Buhari promised when he ran for office.
In Gambia last week, the government obtained a court order to confiscate assets belonging to the country’s former leader, Yahya Jammeh. They included 86 bank accounts and 131 properties he acquired illegally.
Regrettably, Buhari’s “corruption-fighting” government appears unable to summon the courage to do something of this nature.
Worse still, proof emerged last week that there is a deal in place to protect privileged persons, following the EFCC’s announcement of final forfeiture proceedings against former First Lady Patience Jonathan for some properties she owns.
An EFCC source told The Nation she was originally left alone because of a deal brokered by the Abdulsalami Abubakar Peace Committee.
Another told the newspaper: “Part of the deal was that any loot or suspicious asset traced to the former first family might be mutually discussed and quietly returned. But the deal went awry when [Mrs. Jonathan] decided to approach the court to seek the enforcement of her fundamental human rights and to challenge the freezing of her accounts.”
What this means is that had Mrs. Jonathan not exhibited some greed, she could have kept enough of her estate to go around consoling victims of the crime.
And so, on this second anniversary of the government, Nigerians are left wondering how President Buhari could have agreed to a deal which falls somewhere between betrayal and surrender.
It may explain why there is no identification of looters, unless by default. It may also explain why, if the suspect is “big” enough, he cannot be prosecuted. Remember, current Nigeria police chief Ibrahim Idris confirmed that his predecessor, Solomon Arase, walked away with 24 official vehicles upon his retirement.
And remember: the EFCC also confirmed that it recovered 17 “exotic vehicles’’ from a Kaduna warehouse belonging to former Customs boss Abdullahi Dikko Inde. In this war, some men appear to be above the law.
My summary of the past two years is that when all the propaganda is removed, Nigeria remains a crime scene. The past is the present, and there remains two countries for us: Rich vs Poor; Protected vs Deceived; Hide vs Seek; Right vs Wrong.
In the words of the sage, Chinua Achebe, this is too dangerous for silence. Arise, oh compatriot!

FashionWhy My Husband Always Releases Sperm On The Floor During Sex – Wife Tells Court by 2000viewsNg(op): 5:58pm On May 28, 2017
A 37-year-old woman identified as Mrs Mutiatu Olaosebikan, has lamented the refusal of her husband to discharge his semen inside of her during sexual intercourse.
Addressing an Igando Customary Court sitting in Lagos, Mrs Olaosebikan said her husband, Sunday, prefers to discharge his sperm on the floor because he is not interested in having another child.
The 37-year-old trader made the claim while reacting to a petition by her husband praying the court to dissolve their seven-year-old marriage.
According to Mrs Olaosebikan, “My husband is in the habit of disposing of his sperm on the floor during intercourse.
“He does not want me to get pregnant; he no longer releases sperm into me when we have sex.
“He started this withdrawal method five years ago; I only have one child who is six years old now.
“My husband can go more than six rounds, but will never release the sperm into me, instead he pours it on the floor.
“Whenever I queried him about the withdrawal method he uses, he failed to give me a satisfactory answer.’’
The trader, who is a mother of one went on to claim that her husband was a talkative who can’t keep family secret.
“My husband is a talkative, he talks too much and he cannot keep the family secrets. He is in the habit of sharing
our family issues with his relatives, friends and the public.
“There was a day I was attacked spiritually; blood was gushing out of my eyes, nose and mouth.
“When I was rushed to a prayer house, I was told that my husband caused the sickness because he talks too much about out affair to the public.
“My husband is very stingy; he does not give me money. I have been the one taking care of our baby from birth till now

2000viewsNg:
There will be only one 2017 in the Gregorian calendar, and in effect, we can only have one 2017 in the entire human history. Nigeria will never have a chance like this anymore. And as long as it is 2017, N7.441 trillion remains the biggest budget (in naira terms) in Nigeria’s history.
I expect that the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to release GDP numbers on Tuesday, and those numbers will most likely say Nigeria is out or on its way out of its worst economic recession in nearly three decades. This will also mean that the 2017 budget is our first post-recession budget. Hence, there is a need for caution on every side.
If you ask me, this is an opportunity to get it right, an occasion to begin again, and a golden chance to set the nation on the path of sustainable development. Fortunately for him, Osinbajo has got posterity’s situational blessings to be at the helm at this challenging but opportune time in our nation’s history.
Femi Falana, human rights lawyer and senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has called on the acting president not to sign the illegal 2017 budget. According to him, the national assembly has no power or authority to inflate national budgets.
“We are therefore calling on the Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who is a professor of law not to endorse and sign the illegal appropriation bill of 2017 into law,” Falana had said.
Some other legal luminaries have opposed Falana, saying that the acting president can sign a bloated 2017 budget. But as the politics of budget passage bully the economics of the same, Osinbajo must take it upon himself answer some economic questions that are not often asked, and that will not make front page.
OILY QUESTIONS OSINBAJO MUST ANSWER
The N7.441 trillion budget has a deficit of N2.35 trillion before passage, and an oil benchmark $44.5 per barrel, with a production level of 2.2 million barrels per day.
In simple English, this means that when Nigeria produces 2.2 million barrels of oil per day, sells the oil above $44.5 per barrel, the nation will still need to borrow N2.35 trillion to meet its budget obligations for 2017. And here is the problem.
Today, Nigerian authorities have said the country is pumping as much as 2 million barrels of oil per day. Maikanti Baru, the group managing director of the NNPC even went as far as saying the country hit 2.1 million barrels before backtracking to say we were on 2 million barrels per day.
“Crude production has steadily increased to 2.1m b/d due to some strategic dialogue efforts embarked upon by the federal government in the Niger Delta,” Baru said in February.
In early May, after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Baru explained to state house correspondents that the nation was still about 200,000 barrels short of daily production expectations.
The same Baru-led NNPC told the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) that Nigeria’s average daily production was at 1.484 million barrels per day. OPEC’s secondary sources however put the country’s production levels at 1.508 million barrels per day for April 2017.
Data from all of OPEC’s monthly oil market report from January till date, shows that the country has not produced at a daily average of anything above 1.6 million barrels per day. Going by these figures Nigeria is at least 600,000 barrels short of 2017 budget expectations.
Based on these expectations, Nigeria is expected to get about N2 trillion from oil exports, about N1.4 trillion from non oil revenue, and still have a to borrow at least N2.35 trillion, for funding the budget.
What if Nigeria does not meet production target of 2.2 million barrels per day?
The first question the acting president must answer is the possibility of not meeting the set target of 2.2 million barrels per day in oil production. If this is not met — which is very likely considering our current numbers — the deficit in the budget will increase, and Nigeria will again be at the me.

PoliticsFake News Claiming Buhari Poisoned Being Pushed By Same Coup-plotting Extremists by 2000viewsNg(op): 6:28pm On May 26, 2017
There is a very silly propaganda campaign claiming Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari was poisoned, being spread in various forms on the social media. Recently a fake site called AlJazeera report clip with no source on site was posted and shared on the internet. The fake news commonly says something like, “Buhari given strongest poison…he is so strong he has survived it…it kills on contact…he was poisoned through Aso Rock air conditioning…there are poison brands A B C D,,,” and other various litter. A latest several sentence version was authored by a fictitious “Ike Okafor.” However what is most dangerous about this rumor is that a registered media, Dessert Herald created the most elaborate first version of the fake news story of poisoning and the website and newspaper may not be unconnected to the short social media versions being strategically promoted to further an extremist northern elite agenda by the same people promoting a coup so as not to allow Yoruba Vice President Yemi Osinbajo take over due to Buhari’s infirmity should he resign or pass, as the constitution stipulates. Buhari Frequented UK for Therapy Ever Before Becoming President Buhari’s leaked alleged medical records since 2014 from the ABU shows he suffers chronically from Prostatic cancer, quite common at his age. Media reports also suggest he suffers from Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disorder. His chronic illness and not so-called poisoning is why ever before he became president he frequented the UK for therapy. It is recalled that when the 2015 General elections were postponed Buhari immediately ran to the UK allegedly for therapy of the same condition. This was when he visited Chatham House after leaving Nigeria on the 19th of February, 2015. He spent two weeks in London that time. After winning the elections Buhari again set off to the UK again allegedly for continued management of the same conditions, only to return to Nigeria barely 36 hours to his inauguration. It was during this visit that he went to 10 Downing street to say hi to the Prime Minister. Since assuming office, the president according to diplomatic sources as relayed in Reuters, continued to secretly route most of his foreign trips which were noted quite frequently, through the UK where he saw his doctors and continued to receive whatever chronic management and therapy he has been on. Those behind the fake poisoning story want chaos by any means in the event of Buhari’s established inability to continue leading Nigeria. Obsessed with an ethnic and sectarian hold on power, these extremists are plotting a coup so as to overthrow the government at the point Buhari’s inability to continue to be established or immediately during or after transfer of power to his vice, Yemi Osinbajo. Their target is not removing Buhari, but making sure someone from another region does not complete his term. With the coup threats and continued rumors of poisoning being widely propagated, and in consideration of extremists like Nigerian police officer, Inusa Saidu Biu, who openly promised to kill 200 Nigerians should Buhari die, is vital in the interest of National security that President Muhammadu Buhari comes clean on his health and proceeds with a supervised transition. Tomorrow may be too late.

PoliticsBuhari Still Working From London Says Kachikwu. by 2000viewsNg(op): 11:54am On May 26, 2017
Ibeh Kachikwu, minister of state for petroleum resources, says the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari has not made much difference because the president is working from London. Buhari has been the UK where he is receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed ailment. Speaking in an interview on BBC Hard Talk, Kachikwu said Acting-President Yemi Osinbajo had also been very efficient. Responding to a question on the state of health of the president, the minister said: “Yes, he is in London. He is undergoing hospital treatment… I don’t know the details of that and I obviously wouldn’t know. But let me say this, he returned from his first trip in London, even though the doctors advised him to have some rest. “He’s back to London and he has continued some levels of meetings and has been able to play some roles. He has a very efficient vice-president who is sitting in for him in his absence. It really hasn’t made much of a difference. “Well, we’ve heard rumours in Nigeria about sick presidents off and on, most of them sometimes not quite correct. Will he be able to lead Nigeria? I think looking at the sort of conversations I had with him when he came back, he was strong enough to do his work, struggled a bit in terms of trying to fully recover. “Nobody plans on illness, it happens. He has an efficient number two man; the system works, that’s the whole essence of democracy. He’s on top of his abilities to be able to issue policies and to be able to approve what he needs to be approved.”

CelebritiesHow A Pastor I Trusted Defrauded Me Of N918million — Atiku’s Wife by 2000viewsNg(op): 6:45am On May 25, 2017
Titi Atiku, wife of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday told an Ikeja High Court that she trusted a business partner who allegedly defrauded her of N918 million because of his status as a pastor. “I thought that the first defendant, being a pastor, he will not defraud me. “I thought that he was being genuine with me during our business dealings,” Mrs Abubakar said while being cross examined in the ongoing fraud trial against a pastor, Nsikakabasi Akpan-Jacobs, Abdulmalik Ibrahim and Dana Motors Ltd. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had slammed the accused with a 15- count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and fraudulent conversion of property worth N918 million belonging to THA Shipping Maritime Services Ltd. Amos Ibe, the defence counsel to Mr. Akpan-Jacobs, while cross examining Mrs Abubakar, questioned why she used different monikers in company documents relating to the fraud. “Before I start cross examining you Ma, should I refer to you as Your Excellency? “Why was the name Florence Doregos used in the petition from the EFCC which is exhibit one, as well as other fake names in documents you used to transact business with the first defendant?,” Mr. Ibe queried. Replying, Titi said: “I am Her Excellency forever, it was under my instruction and direction that the petition was written. “My name is Florence Doregos, my name is Titi Amina Atiku Abubakar, the Mrs in the petition is a mistake made by my Lawyer. “Florence is my name and it was easy for me to use Doregos while I was in state service. “The name of my biological father is Dorego Albert, we are from Ilesha but I have cousins who are from the Republic of Benin. “I can choose Doregos, I can choose Albert as my surname, they are all my names, even Dino Melaye, his name is Daniel but he calls himself Dino. “I can twist my name anyhow I want.” Responding to Mr. Ibe’s questions about her identity when she married the former Vice-President, she said “I married my husband at the Ikoyi Registry in 1971. “I was a Christian before I married my husband, Angelina is my baptismal name, Florence is my confirmation name. “When I got married to my husband, I converted to Islam and I have been called Amina Titilayo, Titilayo was what I was called at home,” she said. Mr. Ibe, however, still questioning Mrs Atiku’s real identity, told her that a book written in honour of her husband titled ‘Atiku: The Story of Atiku Abubakar,’ claimed that she was from a Local Government Area in Adamawa. “I am from my husband’s Local Government Area by virtue of marriage. “Whether I’m from the moon o, that’s not the matter on ground,” she said. Mr. Ibe sought to tender the book written in honour of the former Vice-President to the court but it was rejected by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye. “The document does not fall under the definition of a public document under the Evidence Act, it is a private document, it is therefore rejected,” Justice Ipaye said. NAN reports that THA Shipping Maritime Services Ltd, a company created in 2000 belonged to Mrs Atiku, Akpan-Jacobs and Fred Holmes. She was allegedly to be the majority shareholder with 49 per cent shares, while Holmes and Akpan-Jacobs each had 25 per cent shares. Mr. Akpan-Jacobs, who also doubled as the company’s Managing Director and Secretary, was accused to have gone to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and altered the share holding in his favour and forging the company’s board resolution. He allegedly under the new share arrangement allotted 70 per cent shares to himself and 15 per cent shares each to Titi and Holmes. According to the EFCC, welding a fraudulent shareholding power, Mr. Akpan-Jacobs sold a property belonging to the company to Dana Motors Nig.

Music/RadioThe Conspiracy Between KCEE And HARRYSONG by 2000viewsNg(op): 3:05pm On May 23, 2017
In a new interview with Punch, the Five Star Music executive went on a long rant about artistes who use their record labels for personal career growth and abscond.
This comes just days after Harrsyong announced that he was re-launching his record label, Alter Plate, following amicable resolution with his former bosses at Five Star Music.
Harrysong’s drama with the record label started in January, after the singer accused the company of not appreciating his efforts. He dumped them and launched his own company, prompting a media/police drama that stretched for days. He was arrested following complaints of breaching a contractual agreement and forging E-Money’s signature.
However, the parties resolved their difference; Harrysong returned to the label to do one more stint, before finally being let to go.
Now, Kcee is upset with artistes that take advantage of their record labels.
Read him:
“A lot of artistes don’t bother to read contracts before signing it. They just put pen to paper without going through the documents to know whether they are okay with the terms and conditions of the deal. At that initial stage, many of the artistes are usually hungry and desperate and would practically beg to sign those contracts. Many of them are also not loyal as they just want to ride on the record label’s platform and money to promote their careers. When they find fame and make a lot of money, they begin to say that the contract is no longer workable for them. Most times, the artistes wouldn’t even call for re-negotiation of the contract, rather they would just abscond and things are not done that way,” he said .
“I always advise artistes to study the contracts before signing it because once you put your signature on it, you are legally bound to comply with the terms of the contract, so far you were not made to sign it under duress. Promoting an artiste is very expensive and it usually takes time for record labels to recoup their investment. This is despite the massive risk that they take because there is no guarantee that the artiste would be successful. But most times, people don’t know what transpired between the parties involved before taking sides.”

CelebritiesOdunlade Adekola - How I Started My Career As An Actor by 2000viewsNg(op): 1:06pm On May 21, 2017
Odunlade Adekola in a fresh interview with Tofarati Ige explained he went into professional acting because of the love people had for him. According to him, he has been in his church drama group and people had loved his acting. To him the love, screams he got when he is about to mount stage gave him the confidence to go into professional acting. Enjoy the interview below…
Can you recall how you started your acting career?
I used to act very well in church and people loved it whenever I came on stage. Even before I mounted the stage, people would already be screaming in excitement and the cleric would then have to caution them so that everybody could hear what I had to say. It was the interest and love that people had for me that motivated me to take acting serious. Meanwhile, there was a friend of mine who we used to act together and go about performing in churches. He was part of a group that used to meet for rehearsals somewhere close to where I lived. One day, he told the members of his group that he had a friend who could act. They told him to invite me and when I got there, they asked me if I could act and I told them I could do it very well. The leader of the group then asked why I believed so much in myself and he told me to act like a mad man. I immediately moved close to him, grabbed his cloth and started unbuttoning it. As I was doing that, everybody there started clapping and that is how I joined the theatre industry in 1996. I didn’t initially know that it was different from what I was used to in church because they had more techniques, but I learnt over time. There was a time that the leader of our group invited some actors who had been in the industry for a long time such as Mr. Paragon, Kayode Akindina, Segun Akinlade, and Segun Adeniji (SAMA), among others to come and inspect what we were doing. After watching us perform, they urged me to join the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners, and I became a member in January 1998.

What was your parents’ reaction to your career?

My father really liked it. It was as if he knew that I would succeed in it. But I had an uncle who used to beat me so much anytime I went for rehearsals. However, that same uncle now asks me to bring him my movies.

What was the first movie you acted in?

It has been a long time but one of the earliest movies I can recall is Faworaja, produced by Bolaji Amusan (Mr. Latin) in 1999.
I remember people like Tunde Oshoko, Semiu Durojaiye, Shola Odebunmi, Segun Ogungbe and many others too numerous to mention here.

What challenges did you face in the early stage of your career?

I was quite young when I started but as I grew older, I realised that all the things that I considered to be challenges are only normal things that happen as one progresses in life. There is always a price to pay for whatever you want to achieve in life.

How did you make the transition from Abeokuta to Lagos?

I believe it is God that orders our steps and he knows the end from the beginning. I just try my best. I cannot really say how that happened.
Which movie do you consider as your breakthrough?
People always say it is Asiri Gomina and I agree with them. The movie was produced by the late Ishola Durojaiye (Alasari). That was when people started noticing me, even though I had produced my own movie before then.

Who are some of the people you admire that influenced your acting career?

When I started acting, I didn’t have any particular person that I looked up to. I just loved all the people acting then.

You’ve been relatively scandal free, how have you been able to manage that?

I don’t think there’s any actor that wouldn’t have scandals; though I don’t even know what scandals mean. We are all humans and are prone to mistakes. I would really like it if you can put it down exactly as I’m going to say this. Most of the problems artistes have are caused by journalists. Some journalists don’t do adequate findings before writing their stories. And it is very difficult to correct the perception of people about you. Many people form an opinion of entertainers simply by what they read about them in the media. And some of these reports may even be false. Even if we have grown thick skin towards these things, what about our children? Journalists have damaged the careers of lots of entertainers. Meanwhile, some journalists are also guilty of what they accuse entertainers of doing. We know some of them but we cannot just mention names. I believe it is better to call whoever is doing wrong to order instead of writing a damaging report about the person. As for me not having scandals, I can only give glory to God for my life.

Health7 Active Home Remedies For Cough – No. 2 Costs Nothing by 2000viewsNg(op): 8:43am On May 21, 2017
7 Active Home Remedies for Cough:
Cough -ing is a common reflex action that removes the throat from mucus or foreign irritants. Coughing to clear the throat is usually an infrequent action, although a number of conditions can cause more frequent coughing.
It is no crime to say that coughing is perfectly normal, because coughing can help keep your throat free from phlegm and other irritants. However, sustained coughing can also be symptomatic of a number of conditions.
Irritants are substances in the air that irritate the throat or nasal passages and can cause coughing. A cough is the way your body rejects this irritant.
Sometimes the irritant comes in the form of an allergen, such as pollen or pet dander. This causes the immune system of your body to create chemicals called histamines that react to the allergen. If you have a cough that arises immediately in a certain environment or season, you may have an allergy.
Other causes of cough are viral or bacterial infections. These symptoms may be accompanied by:
• nasal congestion
• fever
• stomach ache
• runny nose
• and so on.
These symptoms tend to be shorter in duration, only for one or two weeks. When you have allergies, they will usually persist throughout an allergy season or occur when you are around the stuff that you are allergic to.
Sometimes a cough is not due to something related to your lungs.
Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) can also cause a cough.
You can treat cough due to colds, allergies and sinus infections with a number of over-the-counter medications. Bacterial infections will require antibiotics. However, for those who prefer to avoid chemicals, we have listed some home remedies that can help you.
HONEY
Honey is a time-honored remedy for a sore throat. According to one study, it can also relieve coughs more effectively than over-the-counter medicines that contain dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant.
Read Also: Health Benefits Of Sugar
You can create your own remedy at home by mixing up to two teaspoons of honey with herbal tea or warm water and lemon. The honey does the soothing, while the lemon juice can help with congestion. You can also simply eat the honey by the spoonful or spread it on bread for a snack.
SALT AND WATER SOLUTION
While the remedy may seem relatively simple, a salt and water gargle can help soothe a scratchy throat that causes you to cough. Mixing 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt with 8 ounces of warm water can help to relieve irritation.
Note that children under age 6 aren’t especially good at gargling. It’s best to try other remedies for this age group.
PROBIOTICS
Probiotics are microorganisms that can provide a host of health benefits. While they don’t relieve a cough directly, they do help to balance your gastrointestinal flora (the bacteria that live in your intestines). This can support immune system function throughout the body. Evidence also suggests that Lactobacillus, a bacterium in dairy, can reduce the likelihood of a cold or flu and sensitivity to certain allergens like pollen.
Fortified milk is a great source of Lactobacillus . You should be cautious, however, as dairy may make phlegm thicker. You can also purchase probiotic supplements at most health food stores and drug stores. Each supplement manufacturer may have different daily recommended intakes. Probiotics are also added to some yogurt types and are present in miso soup and sourdough breads.
BROMELAIN
You don’t usually think of pineapple as a cough remedy, but that’s probably because you’ve never heard of bromelain. There is evidence to suggest that bromelain — an enzyme found only in the stem and fruit of pineapples — can help suppress coughs as well as loosen the mucus in your throat. To enjoy the most benefits of pineapple and bromelain, eat a slice of pineapple or drink 3.5 ounces of fresh pineapple juice three times a day.
There are also claims that it can help relieve sinusitis and allergy-based sinus issues, which can contribute to coughs and mucus. However, there is insufficient evidence to support this. It’s also sometimes used to treat inflammation and swelling.
Bromelain supplements should not be taken by children or adults who take blood thinners. Also, be careful using bromelain if you are also on antibiotics such as amoxicillin, as it can increase the absorption of the antibiotic. Always speak to your doctor before taking new or unfamiliar supplements.
THYME
Thyme is used by some for respiratory illnesses. One study suggests that the essence extracted from thyme leaves mixed with ivy can help relieve coughing as well as short-term bronchitis. The leaves contain compounds called flavonoids that relax the throat muscles involved in coughing and lessen inflammation.
You can make thyme tea at home using 2 teaspoons of crushed thyme leaves and 1 cup of boiling water. Cover the cup, steep for 10 minutes, and strain.
PEPPERMINT
Peppermint leaves are well known for their healing properties. Menthol in peppermint soothes the throat and acts as a decongestant, helping to break down mucus. You can benefit by drinking peppermint tea or by inhaling peppermint vapors from a steam bath. To make a steam bath, add three to four drops of peppermint oil for every 150 milliliters of hot water. Drape a towel over your head, and take deep breaths directly above the water.
HOT TEA
Whether it’s herbal or regular, the steam and extra liquid provided by hot tea help to loosen congestion, keep you hydrated and soothe irritated tissues.

CelebritiesFull Gist On How TY BELLO Was Abused As A Child by 2000viewsNg(op): 8:02am On May 21, 2017
Nigerian popular photographer c*m singer, TY Bello, just revealed that she was molested as a child and that it had a negative effect on her during her formative years.
The “Greenland” singer shared this with Kemi Adetiba, saying that:
“I was sexually abused as a child and because of this, I felt like there was something ugly about me that made me encounter this. This was not the abuser’s fault, this was me. .
I used to see other girls as flowers and I saw myself as dirty cement, hard and ugly. I never felt beautiful, everything was wrong with me, I was hairy and it was a problem.
I always attributed everything that was about me to be the reason someone took advantage of me. I thought there was something wrong with me because if the others girls were like me perhaps they would be dirty like me but they were flowers. .
When a friend told me about salvation, she told me old things would be passed away and all things will become new. It was as if God could wash away that stench and I would become a girl because I didn’t feel like a girl.
I was shocked when I grew up and found that one out every three or four girls in my secondary school had suffered the same thing and I could tell them the same thing… that old thing can pass away.
It was a relief to find that I was not the only one and a shock that nobody talks about it. That’s why salvation worked, I had a daddy and I was going to be a flower.”
