In that last game, we out played South Africa. We had more possession and more shots. You cherish the South African play and call ours dull despite the fact we played better than them.
bro I cherished our team but Stephen Kate has made the team more useless.

We won two of our last three games and lost none. That shows a trend in growing strength. Look at the conditions and the quality of players he works with. Please do not say Osaze. He was on the bench for Cardiff that got relegated and was fighting to join a relegating QPR. That is one of the star players.

We out played and out possessed South Africa who were one of the best teams in the qualifiers. If Coach Keshi is as poor as you guys claim, how could he do this?
Two of the last three doesn't answer my question bro.
Are they not the players he invited?or are their no player that would have made the qualification possible if he hasn't being so full of himself?.

It is not as easy as you make it. Look at Uche for instance. He looks spectacular for Villarreal. However, he came in am could not score in open play. So the talk of a player or players ensuring we qualify is not a guarantee.

because Villarreal gat team work with good tactical coach n does not play kick n follow football. even gv messI to Stephen Kate, messI will be useless. no team work no team.

So, do not expect every player on your wish list to come in and just fit in. Remember, Martins against Kenya?
Coach Del Bosque had a terrible World Cup with some of the best talents. However, he was retained. Coach Keshi does not have on regular star in a top club playing for him. How do you want him to perform?

Even Cerero of South Africa is a regular for Ajax.

By the way, can you point where I compared Coach Keshi to Coach Del Bosque.

I just pointed out a federation that continued with a coach despite poor results.

"Cerrero is a regular for ajax".
Lol
So are u trying to say south-africa has more talents than nigeria ?.
If the team keshi used was full of bench'warmers, then only keshi should be blamed, because nobody chose players for him.
He prefered to select unthinkable bench-warmers,even from some of the worst leagues in d world over players that were playing regular club football.
Even the WEAK team keshi used during the qualifiers was far better in terms of individual players than south-africa or any other team in our group.
Apart from serrero which other SA player plays regularly for a top club ??.
SA's top scorer rantie(the guy that destroyed our defence)is a bench-warmer in championship side AFC bournmouth.
Keshi is both at fault for not selecting the best possible talents, and not making good use of the ones he invited.
So dont use mumu excuses to defend keshi.
From your posts it is obvious that u are VERY sentimental.
Try to be objective at times.

Ajax has won the last four of the Eredivisie League title. They are a top European club. Respected by great clubs. Serero is a top player there. Which of our top players is a regular in a top club? None. Face it, our football decayed until Coach Keshi came.

Our league is not as developed as that of the South Africans. They are reaping the reward of their hard work.

There is no need talking too much. Write out your top eleven that Coach Keshi would have called who are starters in top clubs.

In that case, Coach Roy Hodgson should have been sacked. Sometimes, you learn from failure. Remember the statement about picking yourself up and trying again!

Sacking is not the only option. Their other factors tap hat led to the slump in form. So why must the coach be sacked.

Aside serrero all other south-african players either play in d psl or are bench-warmers in some poor european clubs. You cant compare with nigeria.
On serrero and ajax u've shouting about........
The eredivisie is currently ranked as the 9th best league in europe having dipped in quality in recent years.
Ajax presently is no better than cska moscow, ahmed musa's club.
The russian league is currently ranked as the 5th best league in europe even ahead of the french ligue 1 and far ahead of 9th placed eredivisie.
And cska moscow with ahmed musa have won the league title consecutively in d the last 3 seasons.
And musa has been one of their best players, scoring for fun.
Because ajax are champions in an average league and go to d UCL to make up numbers doesn't mean they are a bigger club than mid-table epl clubs newcastle(sammy ameobi) or stoke city(Moses).
Rantie is south africa's top striker,a bench-warmer for AFC bournemouth in d championship.
Can u compare with Uche who is d top striker for villarreal a top 6 team in d la liga ??.Scored
14 goals last season,5 so far dis season.
Or Abiola dauda vitesse's top striker ?
The following players have been playing regularly to an extent this season and would have added something to our team if they were invited:-

Leon Balogun-Darmsadt
Nedum Onuoha-QPR
Joel Obi-Inter Milan
Sammy Ameobi-Newcastle
Abiola dauda-vitesse
Chinedu Obasi-Schalke 04
Victor Moses-Stoke city
Ramon azeez-Almeria(if used in his right position)

Can u pls List only 4 south-african players(regular or bench-warmer) in any of the the top 4 leagues in europe(EPL,Bundesliga,La liga,Serie A) ?
You've only been shouting serrero,sererro !

Look at the list of Club ranking. CSKA is not in the top 50. Before you put CSKA over Ajax. I said we do not even have a regular starter in one of the top clubs. Even South Africa (Which I rate poorly) has a starter in Ajax. This shows how lonely we have fallen. So trying to prove South Africa is a poor team shows my point.

If South Africa is so poor, how come they can develop their local league to help their team grow and we can not.

Our problem is beyond Coach Keshi.

AJAX is NOT A TOP CLUB.Ajax is an average club and so is cska moscow and others.
That is some shit unrecognized ranking. If the ranking is not from FIFA or UEFA then its shit.
Mention 4 south-african players playing in any of the top 5 leagues in europe.
So serrero is the only south-african player u know ?

Very funny man. It is funny you do not know Ajax is a top Club. Check their European title history. Check the amount of great players that have come from that club. Compare it with CSKA Moscow.

Finally, I said Serero is playing in a top club. So knowing the starting eleven of South Africa does not add or remove ranging to the debate.

You meant due to Coach Keshi's poor coaching, Messi would look poor playing for Him.

How come players like Mikel and Aluko, who are not spectacular play better and look promising? These players look better playing for Coach Keshi than their clubs.

you guys have come again calling all sort of names of players that are below average, that is how u guys advocated for uche until he came eventually and played poo for us against south africa, I thought players like azeez and moses played in the world cup where they made mockery of the game, balogun played in a friendly and just a push almost made the guy a cripple, you think leon balogun would have survived congo and sudan without breaking his leg again, Joel obi and obasi are too injury prone to play for the eagles and keshi has explained this so many times despite his admiration for the players, he said same thing for moses and he has been justified with moses being ruled out till next year, has sammy ameobi switched his allegiance to Nigeria formally? and who is responsible for that? is it the coach?

Please if you are being misinformed by sports journalists, please don't come here to misinform others, even if all these players were available, they are not as excellent as we think and not better than the players that failed to qualify for afcon.

I continue to reiterate my position that this generation of Nigerian players are the least talented we've ever had, anybody thinking we have players out there is either not sincere or ignorant and is misinforming Nigerians

I don't agree with this your point at all. Del Bosque lost at the WORLD CUP to NETHERLANDS. One, the world cup as a tournament is simply light years away from African nations cup qualifiers.... how u wan compare them sef

2. Spain lost woefully to Netherlands. Keshi lost to SUDAN!!!!. Do I have to repeat that again for you to know how absurd it sounds? This same Sudan lost all their remaining matches in the group without exception. Every other team defeated them both home and away.

3. At least one can say that Spain lost at the world cup which is played at a neutral venue. Keshi lost to Congo in Nigeria, and then he could not defeat south Africa again in Nigeria for us to qualify.

4.) There is a sensible explanation for Spain's loss which is that every Era comes to an end inevitably. Spain under Del bosque have dominated international soccer since around 2008. They have won the world cup and even defended the euros. This last world cup brought the era of those players to an end.
Now tell me what excuse does Keshi have? We were supposed to just start our own era of domination. Now we are back to square one.

keshi does not deserve that contract. The most infuriating part of it is that he got a pay rise. A pay rise for such glaring display of ineptitude. smh

you can have a bad/average players, but you only need a tested and trusted world class coach to turn them to a top class professional "TEAM".

you see our problem, we easily make excuses for the failure of our so called favourite Nations, but castigate ours at every slight mistake. Spain failed at the world cup because they decided to stick to their aging players cos of past glory where they had emerging young stars from real and athletico madrid, what do you expect from players like torres, aging xavi and iniesta whose hunger for the game has nosedived. De Bosque goofed big time but you guys will not bash him because he's white skin. The Spanish FA knows this and that's why they've left him knowing its not his fault entirely.

Keshi came and brought up hungry players into our team and got immediate success, yet we castigated him and started campaigning for him to bring back old and tired legs all in the name of experience with likes of yobo, uche and martins, some were even calling for the likes of taiwo and yakubu sef. Keshi decided to compromise to keep his job by inviting some of these old hags and what do we have now, back to square zero and you think I will join you to bash keshi and make excuses for Des bosque.

I remember when he said that and he was very right but because we've been deceiving ourselves over the years that we have world class players, the media castigated him.

Look here, you can have a world class coach but if the players are not good enough, the coach will still fail, Real madrid, bayern munich and other big sides are doing well not just because of the coaches they have, but because of the excellent players that play for these clubs. Bayern munich has been doing very well before Guardiola came along. Van Gaal had to get players like Di maria and others to turn man fortunes after a string of bad results that also happened under Moyes.

A coach with a bad/average players can't go far, its a fact, there must be at least three or more quality players to make the difference.

@the bolded. I am surprised someone can assert that we are criticising keshi because he is black. That is utter and complete bunkum! You really need to remove your racist mentality and view things objectively. People like you will leave the real issues and start playing the race card. Nowhere in my comment did I refer to keshi or del bosque's race.

Now to the issue. The level of Del bosque's achievement with Spain 'entitles' him to be given benefit of the doubt. Note the word entitles. This is a man who has won virtually everything a coach can win in international football. This is a man who has constantly and consistently delivered for years. Please tell me if keshi can compare. what achievements (note the s) does keshi have to entitle him being given a new contract and a pay rise?

In fact you av not addressed my points;
1. can u compare losing to Netherlands to losing to Sudan?
2. can u compare being beaten in the world cup to being beaten in an african nations cup qualifier?

If keshi has achieved half of del bosque's achievement with Nigeria as a coach, I will gladly campaign for him to continue. Keshi is tactically clueless and we need a better coach.

2. can u compare being beaten in the world cup to being beaten in an african nations cup qualifier?

If keshi has achieved half of del bosque's achievement with Nigeria as a coach, I will gladly campaign for him to continue. Keshi is tactically clueless and we need a better coach.

you can cast all manner of aspersions on me because of my opinion, take a look at yourself and the words you have posted here before you call me racist, you are saying that the spanish coach has won all laurels in international football and hence the excuses for his failure, but as far as you are concerned keshi is a failure abi?, a man that has qualified two nations for the world cup? you can ask FIFA to confirm that, that is a great achievement anytime any day. Even if the African game is not as advanced as the European game, why do we specialize in castigating our local coaches even when they achieve in certain areas, this is my point of disagreement with you, I hope you see my objectivity here, so who is the racist here if I may ask?

Let me also ask you another simple question, did keshi deserve a new contract and pay rise after winning the nations cup and qualifying for the world cup? or is contract renewal not based on performance again. Why did nff refused to improve his contract long ago, must we allow the pain of not qualifying for the next afcon to becloud our reasoning. Keshi's backroom staff was even sacked after afcon 2013, now who does that anywhere in the world?

Now to some of the points you raised, The Netherlands that defeated Spain has not been doing too well recently, they've also lost some matches to smaller teams too, so what's the big deal about that, if a team does not play well in a particular game, they can be beaten by any team. The major reason we failed in the nations cup qualifiers was because our players especially the big players like musa, uche, onazi and co refused to up their game when it matters most or will you blame keshi for one on one misses of musa and uche in the game against south africa, even Des Bosque can't do anything about. if your best players don't turn up when it matters most, ain't nothing you can do.

A pay rise for such glaring display of ineptitude. smh
Coach Del Bosque's excuse of an era coming to an end is funny. Let me put it this way. He took players to camp and selected the wrong squad. Spain had a lot of talents to pick from. Even better than the Germans or the Brazilians. Look at how many age grade competitions they have dominated. Look at the young stars they have raised. Paco Alcacer, Oliver Torres, Ander Herrera, Isco, Thiago Alcantara, Koke, Sarabia, Illaramendi, Munain, Jese Rodriguez, Morata etc. They have players who are not old but in top form like Silva, Fabregas, Mata, Juan Fran, Azpilicueta, Negredo, Diego Costa etc. The talents flows. Coach Del Bosque took them to the camp, selected his team and flopped.

Despite his failure, the FA believed in his vision and stuck by him.

Coach Keshi's case is a pathetic case. Owed Salary, Owed Bonuses for players, Ex Super Eagles players raining fire on him to call players they want, NFF palaver, FIFA ban, Coach Keshi being sacked and recalled and most importantly, lack of top talents to work with.

Considering the factors Coach Keshi faced, he tried. He was even able to discover talents from unknown regions. That showed a coach who worked.

Compare how much Coach Largerback and Coach Vogtz earned.

Even Mourinho complained at Chelsea and said he needed a World Class striker. So I do not know how these guys want Coach Keshi to perform magic.

In fact you av not addressed my points;

When you guys say Coach Keshi is tactically clueless, I laugh in Yoruba.

I once had a serious debate here once with lots of Coach Keshi haters and I pointed out that when Coach Keshi started, and in games like the ones we defeated Mali and the Ivorians, we played a possessive tactical game. I pointed out that I do not know what happened that the game play changed.

Watch our game against the Ghana U23 team, we played a possessive tactical game.

Someone pointed out, I think it was Goke7 that said our Super Eagles players presently can not string simple passes together. How do we expect them to play a possessive game that requires numerous passes. So the only option is to use long balls while we build our team.

Watch our last game against South Africa. Uche made a lot of elementary passing mistakes. He misplaced passes and failed in combinations Oshaniwa tried to play with him.

Musa who plays for CSKA Moscow in The Champions league, can not cross the ball.

Coach Keshi turned an under performing side to AFCoN champions, qualified them for the World Cup and reached the second round of the World Cup.

Go and bring Coach Del Bosque and see if he will even come to Coach in West Africa where there is Ebola scare. Offer him N50 million a month and see if he would come. Even during the NFF fiasco, top coaches like Coach Capello will resign. Talk less of owing salary for five months or unpaid bonuses to players or no hotel bills.
