Your mind is already made up so there is no convincing you. Every certificate awarded by a military institution usually has an equivalent "civilian" certificate. A Lieutenant course in any Military Academy world over is equivalent to bachelors degree in the "civilian life", this is something everyone knows. But you are a typical Nigerian so you won't understand. You want "B.Sc" to be wriiten on the paper before you call him a "graduate" or "educated man". Such shame.

A Lieutenant course is just a course and not a degree! There is nothing wrong in doing courses.
Marked differences:
1. A B.Sc/B.A degree can only be awarded by a Vice chancellor!
2. A First degree is normally 3 or 4 years depending on the mode of entry.

NDA is now a degree awarding institution. There is no way you will spend less than 3 years full time before graduation.

A course may even be more intense than a degree training BUT, it still doesn't make a course a degree!

According to our Constitution, GMB did NOT qualify to run the elective post of the presidency!
The issue was about his WASC certificate for with that he can proceed for degree award if he wants. The minimum is WASC and he didn't have it.

In all of this, what does the law say?
According to section 131 of Nigeria’s constitution, Buhari is expected, among other criteria to include a document indicating that he had obtained a minimum of a Senior Secondary School certificate to qualify to contest for election into the office of President.

The section contains the following:

“A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if -(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; (b) he has attained the age of forty years; (c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and (d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.”

Based on the above provision, Mr Buhari is expected by law to provide documents that prove his compliance with subsections (a) to (d) of the section 131, mentioned above to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Nigeria’s electoral body for the regulation of the said elections

The latter production of an attestation is a miracle I wouldn't want to speak about

For instance NDA Kaduna even offers PhD courses. A fresh cadet out of NDA is a full graduate with a degree(not university degree by the way). So why are some dumb Nigerians still insisting that GMB does not have any qualification even with the multiple military institutions he attended around the world? Or is it because he did not attent an ASUU run institution? If you don't know, better ask questions please rather than looking stupid. Did you find out if David Mark attended NDA when the institution became "degree-awarding entity"? You also magnified your inherent ignorance when you referenced USA in your ignorant rant. The West Point, Naval Academy and Air Force Academy are all degree-awarding institutions. There are many other military institutions in USA that award degrees in every discipline such as Citadel etc. Even many universities offer military training and courses under (ROTC) that enable students to become 2nd lieutenant on graduation. By the way, NDA recently turned into degree awarding institution.

It is not a recent thing sir, NDA has been awarding degrees for decades.

The issue is not about appointment as Buhari's aides but clarifications to inform mostly youths on this forum.


Most Nigerians wrongly think that a person can only be considered educated if he goes to primary and secondary schools, write JAMB exams and then study for 4years in an institution managed by ASUU.

They consider any other education that deviate from this paths/routes as no education or inferior education at best.

A military officer who joined the Army with School certificate and rose through the ranks to become a Major is more educated than a 21 year old guy who has just been awarded B.A (Hons) because he spent four years in a University learning about Fine Arts, Geography or History.
