Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, on Tuesday stated that money politics will have no effect in the forthcoming general elections in the country. He made the assertion yesterday morning on Sunrise Daily, a breakfast programme a popular Television station.

Amaechi, who was recently appointed the Director General of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential election campaign, based his argument on the emergence of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) as the presidential candidate of the APC.

According to him, “General Buhari won the APC primary without money. Nigerians are now wiser. They can’t be deceived with money or any material thing. This election will not be based on money, if it is to be based on money, President Jonathan would win the election.

“There is no difference between the pocket of the Federal Government, the pocket of President Jonathan and the pocket of PDP. It is the stealing at the national level that led us to where we are now. We can’t continue in a nation where N2.3 trillion was stolen and nothing was done.

“If PDP wins the Presidential election in a free and fair situation, we in the APC are not like what they are calling us, our leaders are responsible; we will congratulate President Jonathan. But if they use military against us and rig the election, we will not take them to court; we too will take illegal action against them because what they have done too is illegal”.

The Rivers governor stressed that the APC never intends to cause violence or breakdown of law and order in the country, but declared that social injustice is what should not be allowed to prevail.

He also denied the allegation that his administration is owing workers in the state, saying on the contrary, he has directed that all workers be paid before the Christmas celebration.

The man is unique, i watched it myself he said if gej wins the election in a free and fair manner apc would congratulate him. But if gej rigs the election there is no need to go to court, because in the first place gej has done the illegal, so apc wont go to court to meet the judges that collected bribe. I think the ball lies in gej court, to give nigeria a simple free and fair election. He shouldnt be like ibb his father so as to rig an election to satisfy his bloodthirsty OYEL face. Like he is now using all powers to bully people to get pdp ticket and start giving automatic ticket like a dictator. This man said his ambition is not worth the blood of anybody the same way he said he had no shoe lies. If he thinks he is really popular give nigeria a free and fair election as simple as that to avoid bloodshed

What an affront on JEGA and INEC that has been conducting credible elections appreciated by Nigerians and applauded by international communities.

The PDP will win and I will love to see the APC congratulate the PDP(impossible) or watch with concentration how a parallel government is run.

I prefer the second option though.

The biggest act of blood spillage is rigging election. You think that your god will take so kind to those that take what does not belong to them? And expect you to go to court where they buy the judges.
The only judge (salami) who had the gut to be able to led others to upturn rigged results, they blackmailed him and forced him out of work.

Only those who have something to hide are against seeing military men around during elections.
With enough security around someone in Kanao can vote PDP without fear of having his head cut off and someone in Anambra can vote APC without fear of being given the beaten of his life, their presence will only increase voter turn out.
Military men where present in Edo, Anambra, Ekiti and Osun elections, PDP won only one of those four elections.

Amaechi in effect is saying "Apc must be voted into power or we will have no choice than to shed blood".
That is commendable. It also means that the election no matter what, will not be accepted if it is not in their favour.
