havent used C4D... But ma guess; I don't know if it is applicable in C4D.. did you convert the text to a mesh obj?..

for any object to cast shadow, your light must be on set and check to make the setting to soft shadow in d parameters column. with dat, render and u can see d shadow. also rmba shadow cast opposit of d light.....08030726430
