This is serious! The harmattan harsh too much. I hope no life is lost.

The fire was serious. Very serious. I got to the office which was very close to the fire scene around 6am and the fire was very very Minimal then. Traders who were around were just breaking their own shops and packing out their goods. Unionbank and UBA fire men came but they were not skilled enough. They tried, but could not put out the fire. The fence fence seperating the CBN building and the shops also didnt help matters as it prevented the fire tankers from getting to the main scene of the fire. While traders were trying to pull down the fence to allow the fire tankers in, policemen attached to CBN office fired some shots into the air. People were not scared as they remained resolute in pulling down the fence to allow easy access. Kudos to Lagos State Fire service men. The fire was put off less than 10minutes when they arrived. Those guys are professionals. If only they had arrived earlier than when they did, the damage would have been minimal. Lots of traders were crying seriously.

This is a plan by fashola to move d market out of marina, why not give the traders quit notice rather than this method. it was balogun last week, now its marina matket. Always starting by 4am when nothing will b salvaged.

There are several pockets of fire coming together to form a bigger fire. I predict a gigantic complex or modern structure replacing the makeshift structures that formed the burnt market and the traders will then be fleeced in their bid to acquire stalls in the new ultra-modern market or complex.
