Popular Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe has passed away after a battle with Kidney failure.

The Trent exclusively reports that the actor passed away in the afternoon of Sunday, January 18, 2015 in a hospital in Festac, Lagos.

Obiekwe had been battling with kidney disease for a long time which he reportedly kept secret from his colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

His condition deteriorated in recent times, which eventually led to his death.

A reliable source who spoke with The Trent said Obiekwe was rushed to the hospital on Sunday morning after he was found vomiting at home. Unfortunately he lost the battle and passed away in the hospital.

This is a very sad loss for Nollywood. May his soul rest in peace.

He died this afternoon in Lagos on his way to hospital .The actor had been battling to revive his failing kidneys for a while now.



I just confirmed this news from Actors Guild president Ibinabo Fiberesima who was crying uncontrollably on the phone...

AGN President says
''Yes it is true Stella,I just confirmed from his wife,he is dead..'' (more crying)

I asked Ibinabo why they didnt raise money for the actors treatment since it was disclosed he didnt have enough money for dialysis..The AGN president said that Muna was a very private person and didnt put his business out there,so not many people knew.

I wanted to ask more but Ibinabo's crying didnt allow me .


Muna Obiekwe is survived by a wife and Children.
