The problem is the loan from banks..

Banks prefer to give loan to other investment than to give loan to farmers cos bank generates their profit from short term loans but when investing on Agric,money will be stuck cos its a long term investment and besides,the lending rate is btw 25%-35% on paper work interest rate on loan granted by banks...Whereas the real interest rate is almost 50%..

So,how do you intend the Agric sector to prosper when funds are not releases for farming...

True but most importantly banks dont give loans to farmers cos dia is alot of uncertainty in agric. Most of d farmers in 9ja are smallholder farmers that are peasant and dont have the required security ( collateral) to back up the loan and sincerely speaking just like u said the dont ve the repayment capacity due to d high interest rate.
