The Peninsula Integrated Power Project (PIPP) provides power for the Lagos State Government (LASG) water works and public lighting within Lekki, Victoria Island and Ikoyi. The project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between LASG and Peninsula Integrated Power Limited. This project is focused on greatly improving water supply and safety by the provision of street lights. The plant also has a dedicated distribution network and will run on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). But why are there incessant power outages in Lagos? Before now, they would say the FG has failed in providing power to the masses. They would also blame the FG for not removing Power Generation from the exclusive list. Now it has been removed. Each state can generate its own electricity. But we still have power outages in Lagos.
