This is exactly why japanese cars are funny! 90% of complaints here are all Japanese cars especially Honda EOD and Corolla

Is it that their gears are messed
Maybe its because 90% of Nigerias prefer Japanese cars

I have a 1996 Mercedes benz c220 auto transmission. It worked fine until a couple of months ago when it was really difficult to move from gear 1 to 2. I had the entire transmission replaced for 120k(dont know if this is the real price of I was jobbed). However, even with the new transmission in place, the vehicle has continued to behave in the same manner. Can anyone with experience on this particular vehicle help out with suggestions?? Thanks.

Good day auto Wiz sorry I am mailing these late but I am having issue with my EOD sometimes last 2 year I had issue with the gear box so I had to buy another one, after getting a new gear box I notified when the car has worked to an extent the car refusing picking up from one very slow which after fixing the gear I had a little accident with it then I parked it for 2 year and now I just decided to get the back to life after fixing the faulty parts, I change the gear oil and the rest I noticed the car won't move at all I had to call someone from Honda market he sent someone to scan the they noticed the speed sensor was bad and it was changed and the car moved, heres the problem when you start it in the morning when the engine is cold it doesn't change to the second gear but when it get warm it changes and when it's about entry the 3 gear it's slide when the car becomes really hot it doesn't enter 4 or 3 well but if I give it to mechanic to service the top switch the car works fine and in no time it goes back to it old self when it was scanned it bought out speed sensor and common part in the gear can't remember I just want to know if it can be fixed or I have to buy another one and please wheres your office or do you do home services let me know thanks

Try changing the gear mount. It should solve the problem.

Gooday people, I need some help with my Honda 04 EOD, I drove from PH to Lagos a few days back and while coming I discovered that my car started slowing down once I want to climb a slope, it got worse as it could not even climb again at a point I have to turn it off for like 10 minutes before it would pick again, it is usually better when I'm driving on a level ground, even though it might not run more than 50kmph but once I attempt to climb a slope, it would almost stall, until I off and on it after like 10 minutes, what's causing this please? Experts in the house kindly assist

Scan and your car and post codes. I'm looking at a transmission issue (highly debatable tho).

Thank you for your response, I'm not in a place I can get to scan it right now. A mechanic I just called told me it is the fuel filter, is this a possibility?

Have you resolved this?
Re: Automatic Transmission And Gear Repairs In Nigeria by Ochima75(m): 1:20am On Jan 02, 2021
2003 honda accord delays to move when engaged in "D". Even when it finally moves it disengages on motion, i have to rev the car high before it picks up again, and it doesn't switch to gear 2. I have replaced gear oil & filter due to this, still no change. I cleaned out the "solenoid sensor" beside the gearbox and samething still happens. Anytime it delays in moving when i shift to D the green light near D starts blinking with check engine light. I scanned and it showed "shift solenoid A valve stuck open" sometimes it's "shift solenoid B valve stuck opened". It just dangles between both and if i off the car and on it again the blinking stops and check engine goes off but comes back after a while

I met several gear mechanics, they tell me the gearbox is gone,i should go get another gearbox or rebuild the one on it, even without scanning. I personally don't feel it's true and from research i have been making, some people still experience such even after replacing the gearbox.

Please anyone who had experienced this before and how did you get it resolved because car has been resting since before Christmas.

I have a Camry XLE 2010 edition. I have been having a gear box issue for some months now. The gear would not go beyond gear 2. The I try to accelerate the sound from the engine increases. Sometime even change from park to rev the car jerk heavily. I have seen 2 gear box specialists. They problems seem to return weeks after they fix it.

Where is your location?
From the codes, there are evap system malfunction, CTS sensor malfunction etc. amongst the transmission codes. There's no harm trying to replace the sensors or solenoids on the transmission and observing.

Good day kingreign,

i drive a 2010 Toyota camry SE.. But the fuel consumption is high.

My mechanic initially said it was vacuum leak, maybe air intake snorkel is ripped. We fixed it all to no avail.

I took it elsewhere, he said bad fuel injectors affected the gas mileage . Fixed it yet same issue.

I am beginning to suspect there's defect with the engine management system. What do you think?
