In all of God's encounter with man, it is an established fact that He despises sin. He abhors it with all sincerity of purpose. And this largely explains why the books of exodus and Leviticus details the very content and context of sin.

God took His time and explicitly explained the rules of the game to Moses. Some through revelations, others by divine manifestation of His presence. The commonest product of which is the popular ten commandments God gave Moses on mount Sinai, recorded in the book of exodus.

In as much God despised sin and decreed great punishment for it. There has always been an atonement of sin. As a law without room for repentance is unjust. The atonement has always been the shedding of blood. A sacrificial offering to the throne of the Almighty. Which symbolizes repentance and re-institution, . . . . . . . . .
