Abbysinia Battalion Soars High as 68RC Drill Competition Ends

Abbysinia Battalion scored more points ahead of the other regular cadets battalions to win this year's Cadets Brigade Inter-Battalion Drill Competition for 68 Regular cadets. The competition was held at the NDA Parade Ground Afaka monday.

Abbysinia came first with a total score of 2698.5 points, while Burma and Mogadishu battalions scored 2628.5 and 2557.5 points, respectively, to emerged 2nd and 3rd in that order. Dalet Battalion came from the rear with 2517 points to emerged 4th position.

The Guest of Honour, Group Capt ES Odekina, Chief Instructor Airforce Wing praised the prowess of all the competitors while challenging them to up the ante in coming competitions. He advised Abbysinia to maintain the winning spirit and charged others to do more next time. He also used the event to praise the dedication and efficiency of instructors at the Academy.

You armchair Generals again speaking on operational matters you think you know about. Have you ever considered that there are nowhere near enough platforms in the air force's inventory to maintain a 24 hour coverage of the NE? And you have the platforms scattered over the country on different operations.
Then there is also downtime involving maintenance etc. Only 80% of not many platforms are available at any time. The Airforce needs a lot more close air support aircraft and attack helicopters than they currently have when you look at the size of the NE. There are also aircraft tasked on other missions and as such also not available at your beckon call.

More advanced countries are more successful in responding because they have aircraft available in the air near 24/7 as they have numbers as well as air to air refuelling to keep them airborne for long periods and available to attack when required with Forward Air Controllers always on the ground (I am sure a few people here think a pilot will just show up with his aircraft and immediately know friend from foe).

This is where the Tucano will be helpful with their loiter time as we don't have air to air refuelling to keep aircraft in the air longer. The pilots are getting trained, what we need now are the platforms in significant numbers.

Just saw this post now !
I agree with you bro.

Exactly what we should be going for.
Not sure you can stack all that on the deck and have a warship that will be ONLY 72m long and displace 800t
you got a RWCS
load from HELIO
Load from Missile system
load from RHIB
45 personnel
That is a lot .

You are inadvertently supporting my position.

If the USA truly believed in the efficacy of the A29 why would they have only 3 of these aircraft according to you, that's SHOCKING. When the USAF procures it procurers in hundreds not even in units of 10.

It's common sense that seems to have evaded quite a few here. if the USAF has only three, that in itself tells the story.

Read my post again, this time, very slowly

I have been consistently clear about my position.

But you in your attemp to contend with me you are agreeing with me, without even knowing it.

It has not won any experiment and that's why it's taken 7 years plus and continous. Without a conclusion.

If after 7 years of experimental assessment you are still undecided. And you call that HIGHLY LIKELY then you are being delusional.

The USAF don't use it for anything of significance.

Tell me what the BATTLEFIELD RECORD is of the A29 in the USAF. You are now imagining things.

Somebody is selling you something they don't use or sell to thier close allies and strategic partners.

I posted a verbatim statement by the head of the USAF and he made it intrinsically clear the purpose of the light attack turboprop aircraft experiment. Read it please and stop conjuring conjuring things from your imagination.

Experiment funding was Approved in 2016, A29 orders arrived in 2019, AT-6 orders will arrive 2020, where did you get the 7yrs you have been harping on?

Instead of going for $1 million 'Lamborghini' drones. Dicon should get serious and look for an OEM Chinese/Nigerian factory or get 'Hesco Gabion' machines, install them and start manufacturing this.
I already seen NA engineers with excavators.

This would save COUNTLESS LIVES.

Edit: loads of these machinery or OEM on Alibaba.

Seen far too many private companies get stuffed by government or army hierarchy change. If Proforce after investing significant sums could get iron clad agreements to supply the government, even better.

Great revenue stream too. Gabion walls, shoreline defences and so are some of the other uses.

New Photos show the construction stages of one of the Egyptian Navy Meko A200 frigates in TKMS Shipyard in Keil.

In 2019, Egypt signed a contract to purchase 4 Meko frigates, 3 of which will be built in Germany while the last one will be built locally at Alexandria Shipyard.

As part of efforts to rid the North West and North Central States of the Country of armed bandits and other criminal elements, the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI has launched a subsidiary air interdiction Operation, codenamed WUTAN DAJI. The Operation, which was preceded by the massive deployment of additional air assets and ground support equipment by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) to Katsina, is aimed at taking out armed bandits’ locations that were painstakingly selected, based on impeccable Human Intelligence (HUMINT) reports as well as series of Surveillance missions, in order to significantly degrade the armed bandits’ fighting capability before it could be brought to bear against friendly forces or innocent civilians.
Since the operation began on 20 June 2020, 10 locations have been attacked and scores of armed bandits neutralized, as confirmed by HUMINT reports. Some of the significant air strikes include those executed at Dutsen Asolo and Birnin Kogo areas of Katsina State as well as at Dogo Gede’s Camp in the Kwayanbana Forest area of Zamfara State.
At Dutsen Asolo, NAF jets dispatched by the Air Component attacked the cave/hideout of the bandits, destroying the main entry point and neutralizing some fighters. Some surviving bandits, who were tracked escaping from the cave area were taken out in follow-on strikes. Also, on 21 June 2020, at the bandits’ enclave in the Kwayanbana Forest, an attack helicopter took out one of the bandits’ logistics huts, which was seen engulfed in flames. Similarly, at Birnin Kogo on 22 June 2020, some armed bandits, who fled their dwellings in the centre of the camp to nearby bushes on hearing the sound of the attack aircraft, were neutralized as the NAF fighter jets hit them at their hiding positions.
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who was in Katsina to oversee the Operation, has commended the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI for their professionalism. He has urged them to remain resolute in the conduct of air strikes whilst continuing to provide close air support for ongoing ground operations in order to eradicate all armed bandits; thus accomplishing the directives of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to restore normalcy in the North West and North Central Zones of the Country.
