Hope this not a fallout of the recent clampdown of the revolutionnow protesters in Abuja. The military should be in a better position for better clarification.

He made mentioned of unsubstantiated argument to deny us the weapons. Could some powers be pressing for the weapons to be delayed.
This played out in the last regime.

BREAKING: FOR KILLING A (WHO) STAFF, SOLDIER GETS 55 YEAR JAIL TERM ON 4 COUNT CHARGE.

The President of the General Court Martial (GCM), Maj. Gen. Priye Fakrogha, Wednesday handed down a 55 year jail term on Lance Corporal Ibrahim Babangida, on the 4 counts charge of culpable homicide, house breaking, theft and burglary.

Gen. Fakrogha, made the pronouncements during a Court proceedings sitting in Command Officers Mess 1, Asokoro, Abuja.

Lance Corporal Babangida Ibrahim was sentenced for allegedly killing and robbing of one Mr. Bello Abdullahi Aliyu , a staff of World Health Organisation (WHO) at Anka Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State, in 2014.

Babangida, was also accused of stealing a mobile phone and N600,000 from various persons, on different occasions.

President of the GMC, Maj. Gen. Priye Fakrogha, while reading the judgement after listening to the prosecuting and defence counsel, said the accused soldier will serve a term of 40 years, in jail for homicide and 5 years imprisonment each for house breaking, theft and burglary.

He however said, both Counts 2, 3 & 4 which it jail term is 5 years each are to run concurrently.

Didn't USA stop the sale of Super Tucano to Nigeria after the Rann incident? Also, even without the embargo, there is limit to the kind of weapons that sub-saharan African countries can get from the west.

FACED WITH SURRENDER OF FIGHTERS, BOKO HARAM INTRODUCES CHILD SOLDIERS.

Boko Haram has continued to introduce new strategies in an effort to resuscitate it's declining influence in the Lake Chad Basin. The newest strategy is the introduction of child soldiers. Information on this disturbing development was brought in by human intelligence sources and corroborated by concerned individuals and groups, a couple of days ago. However, Boko-Haram Terrorists themselves, further confirmed their atrocious act when they posted pictures of children dressed in military fatigue and holding assault rifles in a video released during the Sallah celebrations.

2. The recruitment of child soldiers is the latest in a retinue of brutal and inhuman tactics deployed by Boko Haram since it began the futile attempt to cause mayhem and overthrow constitutional and social order. Earlier, Boko Haram have engaged in the mass abduction of school girls, sexual enslavement of women and mass murder of innocent civilians.

3. This recent employment of child soldiers is as a result of frustration caused by several operational losses, leadership crises, as well as disillusionment among fighters and their subsequent surrender in hundreds to the MNJTF. The focus on children is because they are easier to manipulate and indoctrinate than the adults within the region who can now see through the veil of deceit.

4. Arising from this latest atrocity by Boko Haram, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) urges parents, local authorities, religious and traditional institutions to be vigilant and promptly alert security agencies of any overt or covert attempts to recruit their children and wards.

5. Furthermore, owing to the gale of disillusionment and surrender which have depleted the ranks of Boko Haram, youths are advised to be mindful of promises of power and influence, economic prosperity and spiritual growth. Boko Haram does not have any of these conditions to offer. The stories of hardship and evil within the terrorist organisations as revealed by all surrendered Boko Haram fighters should be sufficient notice that Boko Haram and ISWAP have nothing good to offer anyone.

6. It would be recalled that the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on the involvement of children in armed conflict forbids the recruitment and use of children in Armed Conflicts. The Protocol states among others that "Armed groups distinct from armed forces of a country should not, under any circumstances, recruit or use in hostilities anyone under 18". It is against this background that the MNJTF is drawing the attention of the United Nations, it's relevant agencies and other stake holders to the latest acts of inhumanity and desperation by Boko Haram, and urges severe condemnation and other necessary action. On our part, the MNJTF will continue with activities that are focused on the protection of children and other vulnerable groups within its area of operation.

7. Please, disseminate this information to the general public.

Boko Haram came to Moduajari, one kilometre to Maimalari Baracks, which is the headquarters of Operation Lafiya Dole on Monday. They killed some of the villlagers. Those who survived have since fled the village. They overpowered the civilian JTF. It was their second visit in one week. They went further to attack a military checkpoint in the area and carted away with weapons. They This is dangerous to say the least, they’ve been entering Maiduguri MMC.
These his not good for the military and the entire MMC populates, the military should do something about these !

These kids are the biggest military threat we are GOING TO FACE in the near future. Those kids that were born or abducted into their camps around 2009/2010 and started receiving the trainings and indoctrination early in life are either the commanders or close to commanders now. Those ones have also had kids who, alongside the abducted kids have also started receiving training and indoctrination (note that their training now is from those with battle experience unlike the previous generation).

The longer this conflict lasts, the larger the recruitment pool, the more rigorous the indoctrination and training and the EXTREMIST the new foot soldiers are.

The problem with S Korea is that they are puppies to the US. Hence, the US can veto or pressure them to do their bidding. However,

The army is eyeing some badass Korean tanks,,, we had plans on the table to buy them. The specific tank, I can't reveal... but yes we are facilitating the purchase and introduction of one S Korean made tank to the Nigerian army, hence the new talks with S Korea.

My brother, if deaths can be reduced drastically,,,, then the insurgency should continue on a very low scale for another 10yrs undecided

See the loads of new generation weapons the military is buying,,, and the rise in local defence production. If not for boko haram,,, the military would still be where it was 13yrs ago,,, like a 14th century army.

So much progress has been made militarily,,, because of boko haram. If insurgency ends,,, the military and MoD will relax again. That is their way.

So, let the insurgency continue low scale with no deaths,,, if possible. Attack army and flee,,, then its good.
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by GeneralMarshall: 10:46am On Aug 14, 2020
I favour the very low scale insurgency to continue for another 10years.

Benefits of Insurgency war.

(a) Army division now 8 from 4 divisions.
(b) Army now 200,000 standing.
(c) Local defence production in navy, army and air force.
(d) Navy now 3 naval commands from 2. And many FoBs.
(e) Upgraded navy trainning to cover naval infantry and SBS, sub-sea trainning.
(f) Upgraded trainning curriculum in all military schools to cover counterinsurgency, urban warfare, desert warfare, counter terrorism, IED detection, etc.
(g) Real life intelligence experience for new officers and trainees in the north east for DIA, DMI, NIA.
(h) Real life experience in use of drones.

If the military benefits, then its good for naija.
