Their families were given 2m each by zulum as well

undecided 2m that people splash on stripers within minutes in clubs.

It cost actually 0 naira to honor fallen heroes.
Except maybe they are seen as pawns where it only hurts when a king is slain. angry

Giving this guys the honor they deserve is one thing their family will hold dear for generations to come.

Sometimes I wonder if the NA is even working towards international standards.

The constant decrease in moral among troops is caused by something.

In any sane military. The Colonel would be buried along side his men.

An officer of the Department of State Services in Plateau State, Barrister Muktar Modibbo, has died after armed gunmen in a gunrunning ring opened fire on him and other officers during an operation.

A top security source within the DSS told SaharaReporters on Thursday that the incident occurred during a raid on the criminals' hideout in Shendam Local Government Area of the state.

The gunrunners, who supply illicit weapons to sinister groups that perpetuate violence within the state, were initially traced to Qu’anpan Local Government Area by the secret police but the operation was aborted after it was discovered that intel had leaked to the gunrunners, who then swiftly changed location.

The security source said after receiving new intelligence that the arms smugglers were in Shendam, a team was constituted to burst their operation.

The operation was, however, met with heavy shooting from the criminals, who were well equipped with sophisticated firearms and seemed to have had prior intel about the raid.

its easy to be a coward sha. so if Bornu people will not live and die for Bornu, who will?
The governor in my opinion must continue to go where his heart leads him.
He must continue to insist on resettlement of the population albeit giving that population the means to defend themselves.
This lowlifes will eventually be crushed, definitely not by the cowardly, but by those who have the will to survive.
Yes, this sounds like some speech to lift the spirits, but I reiterate, if Bornu people are not willing to die for their land, they will loose it.
The Governor understands this, which is why he insists on resettlement, some people say its not yet safe, The governor knows to call their bluff.
People are ready to give their lives for this land. Rest in peace to the departed.
The people of Bornu must continually activate their traditional heritage filled with beautiful melodies, dancing and singing, in order to vividly separate themselves from the ideologically deranged.
I hear the agro-rangers are doing phenomenal. we need more of these. The number police and military personnel is not enough
if this story's true, rest in peace to the departed. May god forgive their sins.

There is nothing like bravery here. This is Common sense, even the US president won't wake up one and start touring war zones that is largely at the hands on Terrorists, even Obama had to sneak in unannounced to great troops and still yet Taliban's will find away to launch an attack. There is what is called High value target and terrorists are ready to give thier all to ensure they make a statement. It's just like saying Buratai should join the soldiers in trench. If BHT get the info they'll do everything possible to attack his location and good people may fall trying to defend him. Nobody is saying Zullum shouldn't show love to his people the thing is that he should know that his tour is endangering the lives of others it is common sense, he can delegate these things to people, do you know the kind of media outcry and lampooning of the military that will follow if it happens to be that the Governor gets killed in an ambush or his vehicle hits an IED, you will be the first to call for the head of military commanders.

People of Baga need to go back to their homes. The governor said it's not easy sustaining IDP camps. How long will the people wait before Baga and the surrounding area is cleared by the military? When will the perfect time come for resettlement after 12 years of insurgency? The military to me is just sitting in their bases and everyone is waiting for the terrorists to phase out themselves. Like they have an expiring date.

A major stakeholder in this war is not happy with the resettlement plan.

Zulum has his work cut out for him. As it is, he is willing to bound his people to the Philistines. I don't think this will go down well with his people eventually.

Reading from the report pouring in, actually the Governor was not in the convoy attacked by the ideologically deranged elements.
The convoy attacked was that of government officials leading the way by road to the resettlement areas.
"The governor flew on a helicopter into the garrison town of Monguno, 60 kilometres (40 miles) away, and headed to Baga in a convoy under tight security, one of the sources said."
If the Government officials in Borno are not ready to lay down their lives for their home, Its over. This has not been a tea party and will never be.
Rest in peace to the members of the multitude of tribes that have given their blood for the North East, but the hardest battle will have to be fought by those whose ancestral lands are been overrun.

Comparing this situation to that of an American president visiting Afghanistan is not only disingenuous, it smacks of an absolute non-capacity to grasp the issue at hand. Thorough reasoning by a honest person will see that these two issues are diametrically opposed. Afghanistan is never the home of any American president, do we really need to spell this out.
Buratai has joined soldier in the trenches, or have we forgotten, so that's a non-issue.
This is not about Babagana showing love to his people, this is his job for God's sake, he took an oath to defend his people, is he just supposed to hunker down in Maiduguri and pretend as if he cannot see the abject poverty and squalor his people are been rendered into.
Babagana is ready to die for his people, this is the true definition of a leader, someone with no fear, lily livered yes men are advised to resign immediately. This is not a job for the faint hearted. Babagana Zulum has just been awarded the 2019 ZIK price for leadership.

We all recognize improvements need to be made in respect of fighting equipment for the troops, we must continue to agitate for this cause, but what we cannot do is condemn a governor doing his JOB.
RIP to the departed; adequate compensation must be made to the families.
