The video is around Dec 2020 - Jan 2021.
HUMINT has it that mass movement of BHT to the Lake Chad region due to the heavy military operation in sambisa.
For total decimation of BHT, the Lake Chad region must be in total control of the military, year in and out. If not we keep on invading Sambisa forest every DEC-JAN!
Now Izza, is not BHT HQ but a kind of tactical HQ and where they regroup to lunch attack.

If you notice, operations have been largely limited to southern and central Borno state, the Lake Chad areas, and Northern Borno has conspicuously been untouched.
The Chadians haven't gotten involved so far, I believe this assault planned in stages, once the NA and Defense HQ are convinced that they have totally cleared Sambisa and Alargarno forest, operations in Northern Borno would commence.

The movement of terrorists to N.Borno to avoid the assault on the Sambisa & Alagarno areas was I believe very predictable, the CDS and the COAS talked about getting members of the MNJFT more actively involved in operations, we'll need them in N.Borno the ultimate showdown, this is not over yet, I hope.

So a few day ago, the media was awash with news of Fulani herdsmen invading a property belonging to Wole Soyinka.
The Fulani herder has been arrested but what is particularly not surprising is the tribe of the owner of the cattle that was arrested alongside the herder. He turned out to be a Yoruba man, a native of the state the incidence occurred.

I like this new position of the police of arresting the owners too. I only hope they extend it to the elites too.

Nigerian troops on Tuesday thwarted an attack by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters in Rann, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria after launching aerial and ground offensives against the insurgents.

Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge local government, is adjacent Cameroon.

The area has experienced repeated attacks and fierce clashes between Nigerian troops, Boko Haram, and ISWAP.

After a fierce battle, the troops with Air Task Force combat aircraft support were reported to have killed 19 insurgents in five gun trucks.

According to PRNigeria, the insurgents approached Rann around 6 pm in eight gun trucks and several motorbikes in an attempt to ambush the 3 Brigade base.

“During the attack, five gun trucks belonging to the Boko Haram terrorists were destroyed, including the occupants,” the newspaper quoted a source as said.

“Many terrorists were eliminated during the air interdiction and ground attacks executed by troops. At least 19 battered bodies of Boko Haram fighters littered the scene, with the destroyed gun trucks, apart from others in the bush,” a source in the paper.”

Access to Rann is mostly through helicopters and areas outside the town are considered dangerous.

The over a decade-old conflict has killed over 30,000 people and displaced more than 2 million people.

As a reading man - I fail to understand military enthusiasts who do not read - what do you think of an updated FireForce for Nigeria's current travails?

FireForce 3.0 - the Rhodies had the original, we had 2.0, Nigeria updates the concept to 3.0 for the 21st century.

No Daks, no jumpers. Lots of QRF sticks conveyed by a decent fleet of MI-17 to act as stopper groups.
Drones for observation when the situation demands in a particular sector.
A command Bell with door-mount MGs allocated to every sector.

Of course, all of this presupposes everything being done properly: proper training, proper rotation, proper acquisition of requisite assets, proper logistics etc.

It was WAS FIRST suggested on that ishyt show of a thread in 2012 or '13. Since then many of us have realised certain forces in Naij prefer this situation.

I wonder what sort of munition was used to destroy this ISWAP FV-103; what a devastating hit from a NAF 9M-120 ATAKA or Alpha Jet mk.81 bomb?
I know NAF strikes have grown incredibly accurate at delivering unguided drop bombs but hit still baffles me

Rann cool Memories it brings.

The Only location where Soldiers have to form a perfect cycle before our UN Helicoper will land. Even a military guntruck will have to position close to the Heli. That place was really volatile and unpredictable shaaaa

Any Soldier who have served in Rann should be given double medals. That is the worst location I’ve worked in Borno.

I’m still wondering how that underdeveloped town became the capital of Kala Balge. Kanuri politics to avoid the Shuwa’s domination anyway.

* I miss the brutal no mercy Major A the CO then. I hope he is now a Lt Col now.

* I miss the Sgt Major then. He told me he was reposted to Logomani then in 2019. Nwannem I guess you are now retired.

* Continue resting Oga Sunny a very Courageous soldier. If to say war Na physical fight 30 BH no fit fall you. Goliaths frame. I no fit forget how I been Dey bring goodies from Wulari for una to stay motivated cos no going out and coming into Rann for four months when it starts raining.

* Lt E*e where you Dey now? Hope you are enjoying life with your family. You have served well.

* L Cpl N*hu wey been Dey intimidate us with him Belarus trained SF Khaki cheesy. I hope you are back to your Warri location. Miss you bro

* I can’t also forget that tough CJTF Babagana Commander, I hope he is still alive.

Sorry for this log epistle jare, I’m emotionally attached to Rann. (January 2017 to March 2018)
