Going through comments here for a while now and I must say truly being a super power, controlling news media, having Hollywood is a blessing, with media alone I don't see America coming down soon..

I saw comments above calling the Taliban terrorist group, this and that.....
have most of you stopped to ask yourselves why are some government recognising so called terrorist, why do the afghans love so called terrorist, that they prefer to surrender to them instead of fight, I ain't saying the Taliban are saints, or "good" but come to think of it what's the difference between the Taliban and the west at large who pose there way of life on others too, while the Taliban may use canes, whips and extreme violence to pass there message of true Islam across same also the American government use sanctions, aid packages, assassination, etc to pass across there own message of democracy.
I see the Taliban more like a rebel army in a civil war no different any other armed group that's fought to seize power round the world.

I for one won't have cared who governs Afghanistan if not for the ripple effects like more arms smuggling etc it would have world wide.

Think for yourselves, look above the headlines money, oil, politics, controls the world not human love for one another, that a country would sacrifice men and resources out of a good heart just to see another country happy

The Soviets have been there, the mujihadeens have come and gone, NATO, the USA and many more I wonder which of these above truly cared for the afghans or they just wanted there own share of lands covered with poppy fields, oil, minerals and much more
I like people who thinks out the box like you kiss

Kabul could fall to Taliban in 90 days"-US intelligence on this Wednesday.

Today: Afghan President Ashraf Ghani runs off to Tajikistan leaving the country in the hands of Taliban.

Sums up their "intelligence"

As for me, I never referred to Taliban as a terrorist group. But their Ideals are incompatible with the rest of the modern world and remains a consistent threat, with the likelihood of birthing several terrorist groups. America was only the wrong country to achieve rehab for them.

Listen, forget the current happenings, the end or evolution of Taliban is sure. But it will be championed by the middle east itself.

Read up more in the Taliban and you'll see every country is wary of them. Any support you think they have is just hidden enmity against America.

US military never trusted the Afghan military, because a lot of them either fear the taliban or have sympathy for them.
You can't force people to fight and believe in what they don't want to accept, some probably enlisted just for the pay check.
After 20yrs of US presence, Afghanistan should have a formidable Army, but i don't think the US gave them all the tools they need to do the job, and that could be due to that lack of trust. For the US to still be giving them air cover, has anyone asked where are their jets etc? And the pilots? Did the US even give them any Jet ( not that it matters, but it's still an asset). Taliban did all these by road, yet they were allowed such movement, this was nothing but a coup. America got tired, simple as that.
If US want to destroy the Taliban, it won't take a week, but they will have to destroy the whole country in the process.
The talibans should be studied, their rate of movement was something else.
And to those saying it's okay for them to now rule, if you are a female in that country, you won't think that way, those poor women are about to start a very sad journey to hell. Now in areas already taken, women can no longer go out without a male escort, it's just getting started.
And Taliban have no interest in supporting terror groups anywhere, at least that's what i believe, so forget about them helping terrorists in Africa, i doubt that will happen

Taliban have never ever looked beyond Afghanistan. The only offensive thing they have ever done when they were first in power was use heavy artillery to blow up world heritage statutes. They said they were idols or demons then. They also gave Osama Bin Laden safe haven.
They have never tried to actively export their ideology

You just feel sympathetic towards Taliban because everyone is against them. You need to think deeply why that is the reason. Taliban is fighting a "Jihad" and not a civil war. They have corrected it severally. Now that should tell you something about them. Everyone is weary of the havoc they could cause and the support they could lend towards global terrorism when controlling a state. But a royal rumble game is playing out here. Iran wants the US out of the middle east due to strained relationships. China and Russia is looking to extend influence. That does not make them all friends. As a last ditch effort, this will likely happen. Biden may hasten up talks with Iran and motivate them into sponsoring a war against the Taliban. Win-win. America prevents another 9/11 and Iran extends influence. China and Russia also support Iran.

You need to quit the mentality of "everyone is brainwashed by US" and look at issues how they are and play out.

President Ashraf Ghani has resigned and a new interim government is set to take over soon. However, the Taliban has not taken formal control

Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghani and his core team shall leave to a third country (India?). Vice President Amrullah Saleh will also leave the country.

Mullah Baradar likely to become the new President. Taliban have reached a district of Kabul, 10 kms away from the main city.

you missed the part where i talked about the hell Afghan women are about to go through at the hands of the Taliban, how dare you accuse me of having sympathy for a vicious barbaric group? Are you high? learn to read and comprehend what's right in front of you.

Iran will wage war against the Taliban at the behest of the US government? haha, lord have mercy, do you read the rubbish you type? Iran will waste her resources on a project that America failed at? The same Iran that is an enemy of the US, how would they explain this to their population?
Iran will never attack the Taliban unless they attack Iran's interest, and before that even happens, they would have come to an understanding.
No amount of enticement would prompt Iran to do America's bidding. jeez

Don't ever again accuse me of having sympathy for a jihadist group, i don't give a damn about Afghanistan, only pity the women there.

Are you confused?

You should already be getting what I mean by now, if you know global politics. They're not some sort of Iran. But they have interests that clashed, mostly relating to Saudi, Palestine and Iran. At some point, Trump called them sponsors of terrorism. I think he later apologized.

If you have any more questions, take it to Google.

How do I even explain this to you

Just go and take courses on International Politics so that you can at least have an Idea of what determines what. I don't even know whether you understand the political dynamics going. Do you even know that Iran's struggle is one for power? Do you even know how Taliban is hated in Iran? Some friendships are only based on the enemy of my enemy. For you to call it America's bidding shows how narrowed your knowledge is to only Taliban and terrorism against America. IRGC has its own proxy war strategy that's highly effective. If Iran loved the Taliban then why are they mobilizing their entire military to the borders?

If you want to know more, I can recommend books for you.

You can attack my use of specific words, but what you can't attack is my factual details. I study some of these things as courses, and I know what I'm saying. If I had time on me currently, I would have compiled a 400 word article on Doha's relationship with Washington with references, so you can read up more. I'm far from ignorant on this.

All you are seeing is well orchestrated drama to make the handing over of Afghanistan to talibans seem like it wasn't planned.
The country was handed over to the talibans.

There is a reason Russia and China have been increasing diplomatic relations with the talibans for some time now, they will also not be closing their embassies in Kabul, it's because they've known all along. They want us to believe the ANA doesn't even have loyal fighters in Kabul willing to defend the government. No pictures of destroyed weapons, no aircraft shot down, they were all captured on the ground. And the talibans are playing their own part well too, up till this moment, there hasn't been any reports of atrocities or crimes committed by the talibans, they are even warning that should anyone loot, steal or rape in the provinces they've captured, justice will be served on the spot.
Like I said earlier, it's only a matter of time before countries start establishing relationships with the Talibans.
I'm sure there will be groups showing their willingness to fight the talibans to the Americans if US could offer support......

BREAKING:

OFF TOPIC

Taliban is taking over Kabul and changes the name of Afghanistan to “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan”.
After spending $83Bn spending on bombs and weapons and training the Afghans security forces. They are unable to protect their country against the Taliban with support of United State America now USA has lost Afghanistan.
Those who think that the United States has solution to every nation's problems should learn from this.

You have a tendency of not understanding what you read, i talked about Iran not doing America's bidding because you brought it up, or you already forgot that? Iran's govt will face their people and explain that away how? Now deal behind closed doors, maybe, but with the issues btw both countries, i don't see Iran fighting the taliban unprovoked, and at the behest of the US govt, like you said.
You said this, not me, and I'm telling you that's not gonna happen. Biden is not going to motivate Iran to fight the Talibans, simple as that, forget that wet dream. I want the Taliban gone for one simple reason, how they treat the women there, other than that, i could care less
